There's a lot of junk vegan food out there, plenty of processed food without animal ingredients. This ain't that. This is delicious, homespun, feel-good health food that took a lot of thought, a lot of love and a lot of work. Sourcing beautiful organic and local produce, washing and prepping all the vegetables and fruits, making up truly healthful food combinations (mock chicken salad)... it's a process. We were greeted pleasantly in a warm and great-smelling space filled with local art. It's all counter ordering. We settled on the Burrito Bowl and the Buffalo Rice Bowl (I asked for a different topping though- the almond maple sauce from the Vegan Buddha Bowl). They came out fast and both were quite large. Big wow. A wide variety of textures and flavors. The mock chicken salad was fantastic. Roasted broccoli: perfection. I really should have taken some with me but I couldn't stop eating. Also had a hot coffee with oat milk that was tasty, hot and hit the spot. I'm gobsmacked. Can't wait to go back and see these talented gals again. Four thumbs up. Fantastic!

I have never had a bad meal from here. This place is absolutely amazing because they use all natural ingredients and incorporate a lot of vegan items into their products. I Absolutely am obsessed with their harvest apple grilled cheese with goat cheese and raw cheddar- it's soooo good! This is my go-to meal and I absolutely love their smoothies as well. Lately I've been getting the summer solstice but their almond cherry is amazing as well- not currently on the menu but I hope to see it soon. If you're into eating clean and healthy or you're just trying to do better- then I would try any of the meals here- literally everything is so tasty and delicious!!! If I could eat here everyday I so Would! Also dining in- is great love the service and ambience here! 5+ stars!!!!

Ordering was simple and food came out fast. We ordered the Tuna wrap, turkey veggie avocado, and avocado cheddar sandwich! All were delicious and nutritious.

I stumbled across this place as I was driving thru CT not intending to have a vegan or vegetarian meal. It turns out one item was good period - not just good as a veggie alternative. And that was the delicious heart beet grilled cheese. The pesto beet goat cheese mixture was divine! I also had a burger and Rueben which were okay too - as I mentioned good for a vegan place. But the grilled cheese was a knockout! Smoothies were great also! The staff was nice and service was good even though they were extremely busy.

Thank you Logees for recommending this place. What an excellent spot for lunch. My tablemate had a salad topped with tuna and I had the vegan Buddha bowl which came with all the things in the photo, including the most amazing faux curried chicken salad. Really exceptional. Also the soy ginger dressing on the side was fantastic. Extra special bonus points for having 2 home brewed kombuchas on tap all around a wonderful experience.

Cute sign a over the front door walk in area! You can see a bit of the patio through the walk in area!

Food was okay. Very expensive for what you get. Sandwiches r very small. I went home and a salad I was still hungry.

Drink and food was great. Smoothies are a little pricy but well worth it. Foe chicken wrap outstanding.

I can't forget to mention there delicious drinks and baked goods, JUST WOW. While homeschooling and going to school, having a good place for us both to study/have fun when going out can be a struggle. My Xpost, as it should be seen imo…read more I was excited to try chubby dog coffee but unfortunately, I was shown some messages between the owner, Adam Rondeau, and a family member of mine that have deterred me from going, so much so that I have decided to actively refer others elsewhere. There are requests for feedback available on most platforms where people can leave comment on their experience and let others know of any issues encountered. For minor issues, businesses typically opt to rectify them so that customers that maybe didn't have a 5/5 experience might try again. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The owner, Adam Rondeau, decided to personally text my family member about her review where she mentioned being incorrectly charged for an item and call her "insane" for saying so on a review instead of reaching out to him as the owner first. In my experience, I have never heard that personally reaching out to the business's owner for an issue when there are feedback options available, especially as a first step, is the "correct" way to handle an issue. You let the customers know it happened to you in a review, and you move on. Clearly, if you have a negative experience at chubby dog, your best bet is to keep your mouth shut about it or the owner might personally text you and make you the bad guy for their mistake. If you were concerned on how a review of a mistake that was made at your cafe would have impacted your business, you absolutely made a bad moral decision by trying to bully the complainant after the fact. Who does that? The market is over saturated in coffee here, go anywhere else. Even if you might have a less than stellar experience elsewhere at least you probably won't be contacted by an owner saying that you were wrong for complaining.

Alamode Specialty Foods - Cross section of their excellent eggplant parmigiana

"I'm all yours Put me to the test…read moreLove is my specialty" (Roberta Flack) It's hard to say what Alamode Specialty Foods clearly specializes in, because they have quite a lot of special treats everywhere you look on their shelves and inside their display cases. Want some examples? Of course you do, or you wouldn't be reading this. Cookies, muffins, pastries, beverages, bottled sauces and condiments, candies, nuts cakes, grab and go entrees, soups, meat pies, a deli counter, sandwiches, snacks, plenty of deviled egg varieties, breads and bagels, and to top things off, how about 30 or so ice creams? We had a blast checking out this cool little country store in Connecticut's quiet corner. We bought a hunk of Eggplant Parmesan from their deli ($10.95), a pint of spicy chicken corn chowdah ($6.95), two singles scoops of ice cream (PbB Banana and Mayan Chocolate) at $5 each, and a big Cinnamon Swirl Croissant ($4.95). The total was $32.85 before tax. We split the Eggplant for dinner, and I can attest that it was excellent. It was a big portion, piled high of very tender eggplant slices in a marinara sauce. Eggplant can be a tricky food and it can turn up tough and rubbery from time to time. But not here. I had the Chowdah for lunch today. It was loaded with corn, carrots, potatoes, and quite a lot of shredded chicken in a creamy broth. I was disappointed by the lack of spiciness in a dish advertised as spicy. But I'd get that missing spice very soon. The ice creams were very good but were on the expensive side for $5 a single scoop. When I ordered the Mayan Chocolate, the super friendly young lady behind the counter wanted to be sure I knew it would be spicy. Well, she was right about the spice; it had an undertone of chili peppers that mixed very well with the cold chocolate ice cream. But spicy rarely bothers me, so I thought It was awesome. The only bummer we had in our grocery bag was that big Cinnamon Swirl Croissant. It wasn't exactly fresh and was quite brittle and crumbly in places. But it was big, and the center of the pastry seemed a lot "fresher" and softer. That portion was quite good. We had a very enjoyable visit overall, and I can definitely see repeat visits to Alamode in our future.
