However the last few times I've been there, the staff have been really snobby and condescending. This last time, they were so rude, I'd rather pay retail from Michael's, Joann's, or on Amazon. While there, staff was discussing problems filling their classes. There was a class 2 people had signed up for, but 1 cancelled, so they cancelled the class. I thought, "No wonder." I've come to the realization they are insular rather than friendly. It's an unpleasant, exclusionary atmosphere. No thanks.

So, I raced over Sunday morning and found the photo and then found myself browsing what turned out to be a great antique store for the first time. Get in there if you haven't been! They have everything from childhood photos of my brother to an English Springer Spaniel art serving tray, to two vintage novelty neckties (Christmas theme and New York City theme). Or at least that's what followed me home! Brother Ned, if you're reading this...just know that if your boyhood photo ends up in an antique store, you just might be an antique yourself!!

I've been here for several charity events, social events, and kid oriented events. Plus the building, a castle looking building, is a great location to enjoy the exhibits and the old architecture of the house. It's beautiful and neat inside and outside. I enjoy the variety of exhibits they bring in and how they tend to showcase local artists. I believe there is artist space upstairs that I assume can be rented but I'm not sure of that. Most recently I brought my boys ages 7&8 for leaf printing. They had a lot of fun making the prints and coloring stamps. They had a great time. After we wandered over to the small park to the side of the house and they played on the jungle gym equipment. Further up the hill on the same grounds is the Castlewood pool and a splash pad for those hot days. Definitely worth checking out.

I told the guy…read morerunning the store that over the phone before coming out there, told him I was looking to get back into my old hobby again. He said he would help me put a deck together. I got there with somewhat of an idea of what I wanted but even 50% sure entirely because I haven't done much research. I wanted to lean on someone that knew what they were doing. We pulled a mono white and mono red deck. He didn't have exactly everything for either, which is ok. But I still wasn't 100%. I asked him if I could sit down and research some decks. Her said sure. I finally found a deck I thought I would enjoy and asked him if he had the cards. He then told me, "I've already pulled two decks for you, if I pull this one can you please purchase it". He pulls what he had and then I paid. I then asked for 4 more cards to add to the deck and he said, "Yeah but this is it because I got other customers". There was one other guy in the store and wasn't in a hurry. And he only came in at the end of the third deck Pull so it's not like he was waiting a long time. He later admitted to being frustrated but then told me there was no refunds. So I'm now out 200$ because that experience just turned me off of getting back into playing magic.

There are so many cool old looking books here. There is some fun artwork laying around in various spots as well.
