We were intimidated by the all the logistics and costs of a Greek vacation, and we had certain islands we wanted to visit that weren't covered by many of the pre-fab cruises (or they were way too expensive). Petros is very knowledgeable and is a master of his craft. When I had questions, he provided all the information and unobtrusively offered his opinion (which I always took!). He is meticulous in the details he provides in the Playbook, which contains all the travel logistics as well as personally cultivated recommendations for restaurants, bars, and sightseeing. One of the best words to describe the value of Hellenic Holidays is "flawless." Each transition was smooth and we never had to worry about things like - What time should we leave? How will we get there? It was all covered. The hotels he booked for us were fantastic! All the staff were so helpful and friendly, and we often left feeling like family. We felt very taken care of and knew that we could Whatsapp Petros for help if need be (because he wakes up early to monitor the flights/ferries in case he needs to jump in with last minute adjustments). We went on our honeymoon this past August and we cannot say enough great things about our experience with Petros and the vacation itself! Petros was wonderful from start to finish, helping us organize our perfect vacation, working within our budget and our interests. He was very clear about what we were working with in terms of time limit for booking the best hotels, types of hotels, etc. He showed us slideshows of the hotels he booked and they were exactly as pictured! We gave him about 4 months lead time, so I think what you get for your budget is best served with more advance time. We ended up choosing 2 days in Athens, 3 in Mykonos and 4 in Santorini and it was so perfect. The hotels we stayed at were incredible (I wish I could live at Homeric Poems in Santorini forever). The suggested itinerary he sent us was amazingly thorough and helpful. We followed the majority of his recommendations and were NOT disappointed by any of them. I was impressed that he was also available during our trip, as we could contact him on WhatsApp. It was a dream honeymoon--amazing food, drinks, wonderful people, smooth transitioning from place to place, and absolutely breathtaking views. Note: Do not forget your ferry tickets from Mykonos to Santorini! Petros even warned us twice to make sure we have them so that was our very silly mistake. Highly recommend Greece as a place to relax, do some touristy cultural things, and even party (Mykonos Old town and Fira were great for that) and for a perfectly organized and smooth trip, book with Hellenic!!! read more

I wanted to give 2.5 stars. So I rounded up! I'm not sure about all of these 5 star reviews, my was different. I found Hellenic on the Internet after spending a few days trying to plan a Honeymoon to Greece on my own. I spoke to Petros who was all business from the get go. He said that we were late in planning our trip (a month before departure) and that we would be looking at peak prices and that we needed minimum of $3000 cash for a 2 weeks vacation. It was off putting a bit, so I asked Petros if he wanted my business. Nevertheless, we moved forward with Petros because he was the best alternative. Overall, I feel that he was responsive, there wasn't a lot discussion about what we liked or were looking for (I just sent him an email with top things we wanted). We shared that we wanted to visit Crete and Santorini and possibly Mykonos. We went back and forth with hotels a few times, overall out of the 4 properties we stayed in, 2 were fantastic, one was so so and one was average. I wanted to come by the office to meet Petros, but he said that he's working on a project and office was messy, he discouraged me from coming by. I felt a little uneasy in that I was paying $12,000 (not including flights) to someone I had never met. I will say that the itinerary Petros put together was a good one, all rides and transfers were first class and on time. If you're looking for hand holding and guidance, I didn't get much of that personally. Petros gives you an final itinerary that seems cut and pasted (as opposed to personalized to you), but it has a lot of good information. Petros will NOT call you to check in to see if you arrived safely or during the trip, nor will he follow up after you come back. Not sure if he has supreme confidence on his arrangement or doesn't care since you paid, but no follow up. Either way, warm and fuzzy is not his style. Pro tip: If you want hassle free booking I would go with Petros. The trip arrangements were first class and on time. I would be specific on the hotels and really check them out on your own. If you're looking for friendly and cozy travel agent, Petros is NOT that person. I would say he is more efficient. Greece is a beautiful country, people are super warm and kind. They really enjoy sharing their culture. Everyone seems to speak English. I definitely will be going back!! read more

There are no words to express our gratitude for the absolutely spectacular trip Petros organized for me and my family. He put together an amazingly detailed playbook that contained EVERYTHING we needed to know along with wonderful suggestions for every island including restaurants, sights to see, suggested tour companies, gratuity suggestions and much more. Every step of the way it felt like he was there holding our hands - from the seamless ground transfers to the sea jet to Santorini to the flight from Santorini to Athens. The walking tour to the Acropolis was amazing as was the sunset sail in Santorini. We visited a number of Petros's restaurant recommendations and one was better than the next. We didn't eat a single meal ANYWHERE that wasn't fresh, expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. But the most impressive part of all his wonderful planning, were the magnificent hotels that he arranged for us. The Petasos Beach Resort and Homeric Poems totally surpassed anything we could have imagined. The staff was helpful, attentive and very kind and the views were breathtaking. We initially told Petros we wanted to be in Oia on Santorini, but he assured us Firastefani was where we should be. We hired a driver our last day in Santorini who took us on a tour of the island, and while Oia was beautiful we would have HATED the crowds. Petros is an amazing travel agent and I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who wants to visit Greece. I'd give him 10 stars if I could! read more

Villa Mirandi in Naxos: Relaxed atmosphere with attention to detail. Only 16 rooms, In-house restaurant and bar, charming staff, tucked away from the crowds. Loved it so much we didn't leave the spacious suite with the large private sun deck for two days. In Santorini we were treated to the Astra Suites. Truly a romantic experience with views that made us speechless. Intimate dinners on our private deck, with the most spectacular Sunset views that last for hours. And swimming in our private, heated, secluded pool, it was hard to tear ourselves away. At Petros' suggestion we took a sunset cruise in Santorini that started at 2pm with sights of the volcanic islands to swimming in the warm sulphur pools, to a gourmet barbecue with a finale of the sun sinking into the Aegean Sea. This is not to be missed. Each island and hotel had its own unique charm. Petros understood exactly what we wanted. I had a lengthy telephone interview with the owner who seemed professional and courteous, but explained I was worried about planning a trip with their agency as all the reviews were for honeymooners and that my wife and I had been married for 47 years and we could not do the things he planned for his younger clients. The owner, Petros, who was very personable, said he had just the plan for our age and would send out an itinerary to us by the end of the week. Two weeks went by without any response from him and I sent and email reminding him. No response. Then I sent another and wondered if he was ill or had family issues, which I would understand, but again no response. Apparently, he is not equipped to deal with a couple in their 70's, but also doesn't have the common courtesy ("politically correct" in the Trump era) to write and tell me that he could not plan anything for us. I would respect that. I don't respect not writing back however. So, if you are a senior, pass this one by. read more

I definitely recommend Petros! I was looking into other travel agencies for our honeymoon, but Petros won me over. From start to finish Petros is literally on top of everything! A week before your trip, he will go over specifics, recommendations, etc. so you're prepared for the trip. You'll feel like you're connected to him at all times if there was a problem to rise up during your trip because he tells you to message him through Viber. Before our honeymoon I asked him if we could have a specific room number at one of the hotels and I literally asked him last minute and I didn't think he could accommodate it since it was last minute and he said he can't guarantee it. I didn't get my hopes up because I would've understood. BUT when we got there we got the room I wanted! I then messaged him on Viber and he said it was a surprise! So I thought that was really sweet of him and how much he cares about his clients. We went to Athens, Crete, Santorini, and Mykonos. All the hotels he set us up in we're amazing! I have always arranged international travels for our family, but when it came to planning our trip to Greece I realized I could greatly benefit from working with an expert. I can't thank Petros enough for our amazing Honeymoon. From the first meeting, he was patient, kind, professional, communicative and easy to work with. We booked our trip about five months in advance and Petros would check in with us every so often with tips and ideas. I researched places in Greece and decided on Athens, Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini for our family's two week trip in May/June, 2017. There were so many hotels and options we did not know what to do so I found tour options through Hellenic Holidays and called their NY office. I was referred to Petros who has been to Greece 60 times! His expertise on where to stay, what to do or not do, what restaurants had the best food and connections for transfers, high speed ferries and transportation was very valuable and took away most of my stress...I am very type A person and want to detail every minute. Petros advised me to take each day at a time and enjoy/relax... by the end of the two weeks I actually was able to sit back and enjoy relaxing by our fantastic infinity pool at Astra Suites in Santorini. Every hotel chosen was top rate and fantastic service. We were able to communicate with Petros during the vacation as well to get more advice on what to do which was great. I only wish he could book us with other vacations to Europe besides Greece and Turkey which are his specialty. My husband said the trip was the best planned trip we have ever been to in the thirty years we have been together.
