The task was enormous - at least to me it certainly had sounded overwhelming. But Dr. G's incredible patience and thoughtfulness, and the respectful manner in which he explains everything - treating you as a partner rather than simply a patient - made me choose him over two other doctors I had been considering. And I am so happy I did! Today, after many months or our collaboration I am in a very different place: medically, aesthetically, and emotionally. What's also very important to me is that Dr. Gerskowitz looks at the patient and his/her health in a integral way, which so rare at our time of infinite specialization. He is a real master. His approach is careful and intelligent, and what they call "bedside manner" is superb: once you are in his office, you immediately feel at ease. Dr. Gerskowitz is simply the best dentist I've seen in my life and one of the very best doctors of any specialization I've encountered. I just wish I found him earlier. The staff is equally great - I use this office now for my general dental maintenance and checkups. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. The young lady dentist assigned to me was very inexperienced. She extracted the molar by chipping and hacking away where she eventually removed the molar in pieces. I ended swallowing bits of the molar. In that visit, since I had insurance , this place did anything and everything to max out as much as they could from my insurance. I was told that 25% of the bill had to be paid upfront, which was $588. That night I bled quite a bit and had tremendous discomfort. The next day my face was swollen and I had a slight fever and realized something wasn't right. I When to another Dentist to get to the bottom of why I was bleeding so much and had this puffiness and why I had all this discomfort. Was told that the reason I bled so much was because the stitching done at this Avant garde place was because it was done on one side of the gum and that the stitching should've have been done in a cross road method as opposed to one side of the gum and the grafting to cover the hole in the gum area was not there. Was also told that I also had an infection as well and was given a prescription. I ended Spending an additional $750 to correct this mess done at Avant garde. To add insult to injury, no pun intended, Avant garde wanted another$1,590. I left skid marks at Avant garde. As mentioned, it was a horrible experience. Stay away...

After one or two visits to new dentists we realized what we were missing. New dentists seemed more interested in their bottom line with outrageous costs without truly caring for the patient. After recommending procedures that were not necessary, we made the decision to travel back to Dr. Don for our dental needs. He is worth the trip for us. He and his staff treat us like family.

My son is in the spectrum and we've been introduced to her staff and we immediately made an appointment within the same week. Super accommodating and they truly care for our child and so as to their families. Even during this pandemic my son will put his mask on for a little bit and will give us a hard time getting his temperature but due to his condition they don't force it upon him whenever something environmental is triggering his response. We are fortunate to learn about this place, it's so timely bec our family dentist doesn't know how to deal with kids like him. We had to come back a bit often but it's so worth it. We started pre-pandemic that our son doesn't want to even get inside her clinic, her approach is highly commendable, she went out, got to know him, baby steps, then from there to now that he sits comfortably in the check up chair letting her go through his mouth opening wide for her to see all his teeth. It's a year of some practice at home and going there like every 2 or 3 months. She didn't just specialize on dentistry and behavioral background, she knows where we are coming from straight from home with her own experiences with her family esp having the same kid as mine. It not all about teeth, its about how getting things better in life in general. This year is the 1st time my son who just turned 6 blew his own cake candle, he didn't do that for 5 years, sounds easy for other kids but on our case everything is a bit backed. Office alone, wait time is pretty short, systematic reminding via email or text which can be conveniently confirmed with a single letter response and when we happen to call to front desk, they pick up right away. Aesthetic, it's sensory friendly 100 percent.
