That all changed when I went to Hong Kong recently, and had a cavity filling pop out when I was flossing my teeth. When I came home I booked a dental appointment, and found out I'd need a root canal. Not ideal, apparently the filling had cracked earlier (unbeknownst to me), bacteria had gotten into the root and hence the root canal. This definitely could have been prevented on my part if I had gone for regular dental checkups. Bad me. Go to the dentist once a year people. So anyway I booked in for a root canal, which had to be done over a few appointments. Dr. Ng is good about explaining the procedure, what's going to happen, and why. He'll give you information about what to do after the procedure as well, foods to avoid and that sort of thing. His staff is friendly and professional. I think the only downside to this dental clinic is they book up for appointments pretty quickly, but I got on a cancellation list and was able to get me root canal completely done (except the cap, which I'm not 100% sure if I'll do or not) within a few weeks. If you're in Leduc and need dental work definitely call Dr. Ng's office to see if they're taking on new patients.

But…read moreevery time I go in, no matter what for, I know I'm being greeted personally and with huge smiles. On a journey to better my dental health and Dr.Al & team has helped with it so so much. I started out with horrible dentist anxiety, but now don't hesitate to text or call them as soon as I have an issue. They have such a great environment, it's hard to not feel relaxed with it. So far I've had two very troublesome wisdom teeth removed (with the biggest roots EVER), several fillings, a root canal, regular cleanings, and as a bit of icing on top - a few fixes on old work. I had one today that was JUST outside the usual "warranty" window and he fixed it for me on the house. Having a dentist that understands how your teeth can affect your physical AND mental health, is a huge bonus for anyone struggling to get their dental health back. I went in for a checkup and clean - when Miranda (the dentist) sat me down to go over my xrays (required as part of my first time visit) she basically told me that it was going to be a quick consultation as there was nothing wrong with my teeth. She suggested that if i wanted to get my teeth straighter there was an option to fix this and they could provide a quote but it was for cosmetic reasons only and there was no pressure to get a quote for this done. My cleaning was done by Tara(i hope i got the name right) - i'm a smoker and like red wine and my last checkup was over a year ago, so it was a bit of a job - this was completely painless and the final results were amazing. I can't comment on pricing as i have health insurance and this was my first visit to a dentist in Canada (so i've no prior history to base it against). I'll definitely be going back to Miranda and her team for my next visit.

Parking is plentiful here, it's easy to find the office, and it's very COVID prepared with spacious designated seating, hand sanitizer at the ready, etc. I also like the decor here and the fish tank was a nice distraction. They also do direct billing to your insurance provider as well. I like how both kids could be seen at the same time in the same room space next to each other. They even had parent seating for myself right where the room divider was to have a good view of both kids. I appreciate how they have little vinyl booster pillows for the seat gap since my kids are pretty small & don't quite fit the adult seat when fully reclined. They also had TV available for their favourite show while they wait & the experience comes complete with headphones & kiddie sunglasses. I love the service here, the dentists & hygienists were amazing and friendly! I have to give a shout out to Lani, she was so awesome for my youngest (who refused to open her mouth last visit)- her bedside manner was superb with my kid, showing her the tools to reduce fear, and she picked up on cues & addressed it quickly if my kid was uncomfortable at any point, even changed the polish flavour from chocolate to bubble gum mid polish, and sang nursery rhymes to my 5 year old while she worked. Even the X-rays were a breeze with the kid friendly instructions she provided. We all left happy campers that day & I am so grateful we have paediatric dental offices like this exemplary one in the city!!

She is not scared of sitting in the chair which says a lot. Fun waiting room for the kids with the big fish tank and lots of fun things for the kids to do a look at. I would never change and it is worth driving to. (I live in the opposite end of the city).
