I don't usually write reviews, but Robert definitely earned this one. We recently started bringing our bikes to his shop, and from the beginning he was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to work on our e-bike, even though he explained that many e-bikes can be more challenging to service. Unfortunately, after one of the repairs, our son was involved in an accident, and emotions understandably ran high. It was a difficult situation for everyone. What stood out to me was that Robert stayed engaged, listened, and ultimately chose to help make things right. That says a lot about his character and the kind of business owner he is. As a fellow business owner, I know that sometimes it's not just about fixing bikes--it's about how you treat people when things don't go as planned. Robert showed integrity, professionalism, and genuine concern, and I truly appreciate the way he handled a stressful situation. We recently bought another bike, and we'll continue bringing our bikes to Robert. So I rented a U-HAUL and brought a brand new bicycle in for assembly. I was told it would likely be closer to $45 for assembly and left paying $72 plus the cost of renting a U-HAUL. I get my bike back, and the brand new tires and inner tubes that were holding air now suddenly has a fat hole at the base of the inner tube stem where they told me they added sealant, yet created a new problem in the process. When I called the next morning to describe the issue the answer I got is "well I don't know why you got a hole in your inner tube". To make matters worse I was told that my bicycle could be picked up on Sundays for service for an additional fee, so when I called to arrange this service I was told to take off my front wheel and to come walking to the shop. The shop dude Robert knows that I don't have a car and rented a U-Haul to take my bike to his shop which is why he offered pickup of my bikes in the future for an extra fee which he didn't even honor the next day. I told Robert this was my only form of transportation for right now and this is the service I received. So I highly recommend you don't waste your time and get everything done right the first time anywhere else. This place will waste your time, do damage that they cause and not correct, then tell you they offer pickup for service for an additional charge, then tell you to come walking with your bike tire that needs repair, no matter the distance, for help. Not to mention they waste too much time with small talk, when their service is awful. read more

Not only did he (the owner) respoke a wheel for my nephew for a great price and practically overnite, but he was great about offering up information (how to, etc)... Not to mention the adjustment to the derailer on a 2nd bike was quick and at no cost. Brought my bike in the shop for repair, had the bike for a month and a half and couldn't fix it. Charged me 50.00 to diagnose but not fix. I took the bike back and fixed it myself in a week for half what his estimate was. I don't recommend this business, they are ok taking money for not fixing. read more

Drove up at 7am when they open and the owner was just arriving. He told me to come on in while he opens up. Explained what I needed and he told me that one of the items he no longer stocked and he could take care of adjusting my shifter. Said it would be 2-3 days before it would be ready. About 2 hours later he calls and said both bikes are ready. Wow!! Bikes now shift smooth and he gave me a pointer on how to down shift property. Rob is super helpful. He will tell you everything you need to know about your inquiries and give you what you need. Very honest and will find solutions or better (and cheap) alternatives for you. Robert can do anything you need to keep pedaling. He raised the handlebars because my fingers went to sleep. He installed a lower gear because my breathing was compromised. He added waterproof saddlebags to protect my sheet music. He added a hand brake on my coaster bike because my right knee wasn't capable of braking strongly enough in a pinch. He installed a different seat when I kept sliding off the one that came with the bike. He now provides the same service on a Terra Trike I bought in Desert Hot Springs - the only shop that had recumbent trikes on the floor to try out. (Chose to switch to 3 wheels after 14K miles on 2 wheels when I fell and broke my ankle. I'm 83.) And he's fun to talk to. read more

I have known Bob, the owner of Hemet Bike Shop, for a few years now. On my first experience there, I asked him if my 48 year old Raleigh Super Course 10 speed would be worth updating. He told me that it had "great bones" and would be worth it. For a reasonable price, he did a great job turning it into an awesome 27 speed with upgraded components, wheels, etc. and I have really enjoyed riding it. Lots of great memories with that vintage bike. A couple weeks ago I purchased two new tires and tubes for another 2020 road bike, and he also tuned up that bike at no extra cost. Completely rude jerks! I will drive 40 miles to avoid ever going back here. Walked in and was rudely reprimanded to 'go get behind the barrier!' There was no signage stating this, and the store was wide open, so I am supposed to be a mind reader? I was masked up and over 10 ft away from the employees. When asked what I needed, I said some spokes. The smart ass then asks me 'you want me to just grab some random spokes or do you have any more i!nfo?' before I had a chance to give him said info. If this is their attitude I am shocked they are still in business. If I'm buying spokes or a 4k road bike, I expect to be treated politely. Avoid this place like the plague (or Covid19)! I happened upon this shop when driving down Florida Ave while in search for a tool to fix my bike chain. I decided to stop in and see if they sold this tool I needed. I was greeted by the owner Robert and was informed that although he didn't have any of the tools in stock (nobody in town had it in stock) that he would be happy to help me fix my bike at a reasonable rate. Infact he offered at almost $25 lower than any of the other shops would have quoted. MAJOR KUDDO POINTS for that. Being a single mom on a very stingy budget I decided to take him up on the offer and went home to get my bike and bring it back. Not only did Robert fix the chain on my bike but he went out of his way to do a quick tune up and fix some small issues with my bike and refused to take more than what he originally quoted for fixing the chain. As a small business/contract owner, it means alot to me to know other business's that still operate off the policy of treating others as you would want to be treated. It's not easy to survive in this struggling market and I really value doing business with those who don't mind being helpful, even if it hurts their bottom line. I bought a bike here for around $400.00. They gave me a year of free tune-ups and the guys are very friendly. I believe tune-ups are around $20 - $25. I also bought a helmet which I don't use and I tried to return it a few days after buying it. It had never been used but they have a policy against returning helmets. I've brought my bike (and tape) in and had them wrap my handlebars. They charged me about $12.00 to do that. Nice place. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the helmet thing and the products they sell are a tad on the pricey side. read more
