Terrrible. My wife dropped off my sons e-bike with two flat tires. We paid them $60 to mount and balance both new tubes. Picked the bike up and by the time we got home both tires were flat. Brought the bike back on Sunday (We picked up on a Friday night) and they are not taking responsibility even when we brought the bike back the rep said it was there issue for not checking. Now they refused to cover anything and kept my money. Very dishonest!! read more

We had no way to get them home, so they offered delivery for $20, which was so reasonable and was greatly appreciated. Picked up my ebike today. The guys did a great job on replacing brake pads, tire repairs, and a tune-up. They explained the fixes and new PSI for the rear tire with a tube insert. Im glad I held off on giving this place a review. Initially this place was okay. I came in looking for some cantilever brakes and the guy didn't even know what they were. Luckily one of the bikes they were servicing had cantilever brakes so I could point them out. I was quoted one price for them but while checking out the price doubled. No biggie but I had to pass. The kid was nice and offered some free parts from a box someone had donated for my trouble. Very cool. I came back on several different occasions for parts. Each time I asked for the cost they ended up being free since they were just small bolts or screws. Pretty cool but it's common at bike shops since they stash away spare nuts and bolts. On one occasion I purchased a used stand from them since they were clearing them out. I called back the next day to see if they still had some. The guy on the phone said no. He probably didn't even check since I went in to the store the next day and they had more. I was going to grab a second one but the mechanic told me the price was double what I initially paid for the first one (they were identical) and made up some bullshit how now that they only had a few and didn't have surplus the prices went up. What? I also brought in a stem because on my last visit I was looking for pinch bolts and they said to bring in the stem so they could see what size I needed. When I asked about the bolts the same mechanic who quoted me on the stand quickly shuffled through a drawer and told me they didn't have any. It didn't even look like he tried to find them. He proceeded to tell me he could sell me a whole take off stem for $10. Why would I buy a whole stem for a couple bolts genius? He suggested I go to the hardware store. Home boy was not welcoming, pulling prices out of his ass and seemed like he was in a rush to get rid of me. Cool, I'll look for a new shop to get parts from. People wonder why consumers choose to buy through Amazo instead. It's so we can avoid dealing with douches like this guy. We waste our time drive to your business and waiting for service. Only for you to tell us you don't have the part and go elsewhere. Along with dealing with your too cool hipster douchey attitude. Shout out to Brayden though he's the only reason I gave this place a second star. Nice kid and good customer service. Too bad this place pays him in peanuts. He can't even afford his own bike. Honestly the quality of work is good enough. it's the inaccurate pricing that is never properly advertised that starts the problems. The biggest one being the timeline to get your bike fixed is never correct. Usually an additional 48 hours. The last service was done before my next century ride and I got my bike back with less than 24 hours before the race. the staff was informed when I dropped it off Tuesday for a Wed pickup that ended up being Friday mid day. no care or resolution from the staff either. it's not just taking the reservation that brings value, it's holding the reservation. We came in here because my sons bike that was gifted to us needed a new innertube. The gentleman at the bike shop informed me that it was broken and it was missing a couple spacers. He was very kind enough to fix it and add the spacers to it for us. It was definitely way more than he had thought but did not complain nor charged us any extra. When I was standing there waiting, a couple customers came in and I believe he was the owner of the shop helps them out and gave him some of the parts that he needed without charge and explain to him what he needed. I feel like the shop is super customer friendly and oriented. We will definitely come in here when we're looking for a new bike or any repairs! read more

Ok, I just went to Menifee bikes, and bike warehouse last night. Menifee bikes is my usual shop, but they are totally out the back door with work, couldn't take in any new service jobs. So bike ware house next. They looked at my dads bike. He has a mid level full suspension mountain bike made by giant. They wanted $360 to service it. I was kind of floored, because the bike isn't worth that much! I was put off by the price so I walked. Here is the thing. Not only did Alan's bike shop offer to tune up my dads bike for $120, but what really startled me was this. I walked around while they evaluated my bikes. They are selling the exact same e-assist bike, same model everything, same color etc, for $1000 less than bike warehouse. And the price at bike warehouse was $2500, same bike at Alan's is marked $1500. I was specifically looking at e bikes for my dad because the sales man at bike warehouse (who was a total pro, made good suggestions, and knew his products really well) suggested that my dad go in that direction. He was right, but his prices were too high for me. The experience at Alan's bike shop was way more laid back. The store is well stocked, the prices are still fair! I haven't gotten my bikes back yet, so the jury is still out in the service department. But if they do what they say, this is definitely the new go to store for everything! read more

I try to spread the love by patronizing every local bike shop in the area. I've used Alan's Bike Shop services and purchased items a few times. Tires, tubes, and other stuff. One time I took my ride in for a complete tune up and new cassette and they did a great job. My bike was clean and the drivetrain clicked like new. Another time I had a sort of mechanical crisis just before a date ride and the young man working that day fixed it up right away and saved the date. I never really shopped their stock of bikes but I'm sure they, like most brick and mortar shops, operate on the thinnest of margins so I won't be surprised if people get sticker shock and think the shop is ripping them off. But I've been riding for many years and I believe that the quality and reliability of my bike should be the last thing I need to worry about when I am miles away from the trailhead or from where I parked my car. Quality costs $$$. Besides, when you buy a bike from a local shop, you don't just buy the bike, you also buy into a working relationship with them and they will always take care of you and make right whatever issues you have with your bike. read more

The best Bike buying situation I could've asked for!! Stopped by here about 6 months ago on a whim, since we were in the area. It was close to them closing up for the day, so we just wanted to peek in. We we greeted right away, talked to us for a few minutes on some different options, and we were super impressed! We didn't want to keep them past close and told them that, they had several customers still needing help, but they didn't mind! If we had wanted to buy that day, I know the customer service still would have been top notch. We came back 2 days later to buy me a Cruiser, and get a basket to add the pup to, for cruising the neighborhood primarily. Riley was helping us, and multi-tasking, he let us go in the back of the building with one of the bikes I was looking at and ride it around the parking lot to see if I liked it while he was inside returning a fixed bike to a customer. I LOVED that he allowed my boyfriend and I to be out there trying it out without breathing down our neck, and the fact that he TRUSTED us! There's nothing I hate more than walking into a store, and someone treating you like you cant afford something or you're a thief! So this 200% sold me! Riley then got the bike for me, adjusted the seat to the perfect height, and to top it off installed the basket for me right then and there! I think even my boyfriend was a little shocked, lol. So while Riley was doing that, my boyfriend was looking... coming in, he didn't want a bike. Leaving, he had a bike. Riley answered all his questions in detail (they both had way more knowledge around bikes than me!) and before you know it, he's got his bike, accessories, tools, etc. And since my boyfriend would be taking it overseas for deployment with him, he even sealed the tires with this stuff for him, to help keep them from popping so easily!! What place does that for customers now days?! It's the little things. Riley also threw in a new inner tube for both of our bikes just incase. WOW! In the end, over $1000 HAPPILY spent we left. Riley order us this wall mounts we wanted, and we came and bought those the next week when they came in, as well as a helmet for the bf, iPhone holder, tools... hahaha. And I've told everyone I can about your shop since! This is a long review, but it's also LONG overdue! They were amazing, the whole staff was incredible. But we SO appreciated Riley going above an beyond EVERY-SINGLE-TIME we came in! So truly, thank you! And go to ALANS if you need ANYTHING!!! read more
