She was quite happy about finally seeing the museum! Located on a school campus, the museum sits back a ways from the parking lot across a courtyard from the school building. Parking and walkways are shared between visitors and students alike. The museum is bright and airy, having a nice flow from room to room, through timeline to timeline. The displays are beautifully constructed with thorough yet engaging text to explain each finding or display. The exhibit rooms are large enough to give that gasp that comes with being in the presence of creatures of such size, but cozy enough to linger and read without being overwhelmed. There are hands-on activities for youths and those young at heart, a children's play and explore area, and a theater/presentation area. We really enjoyed the presentation that brought the area to "life" through a realistic, animated depiction. We sat on molded rocks, which was fun. When students came, they sat on the floor. It was cool and quiet. The bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. There's a small gift shop with some eye catching toys, jewelry, snacks, etc.

They are currently restoring a Phantom II to flight. This is the only privately owned Phantom in the USA (Collings Foundation leases their from the US Govt). Its approx 95% done. Theirs is the 11th one produced and is also considered an F4H-1 Phantom II. In addition they have a OH-58 Kiowa that is flyable and a Desert Storm Veteran and a UH-1B Huey that saw time in Vietnam. They also do restorations and have to other static helicopters. Suggestion is to call ahead but they are normally open during the week. If your a Phantom Phan or love Hueys this is a must visit if your in the Temecula area.

I came with a 7 year old and a 3 year old and while it was great for the 7 year old, it was a little beyond the 3 year old, although she still enjoyed looking (and touching!). Wings and rotors is a non profit so that means no admittance fee, but there is a donation area to help with costs associated with running the museum. They also run stem workshops for kids 7 to 14. Definitely give wings and rotors a visit if you and/or your kids like planes and helicopters.

And it's only open on the weekends (Friday to Sunday) from 11am to 4pm. But the docents are wonderful, friendly, and very knowledgable. And I enjoy seeing things like old typewriters, sewing machines, and cash registers. We had about 30 minutes here which if you're not a big history buff, is more than enough. This is a large one room museum that features Indian artifacts and farm and home antiques. Parking: Limited free parking on the street in front of the museum and along the downtown area. There's also a free lot to the side of the building. The venue: The "museum" is at the back of La Boutique Consignment & Bridal store. It's a gorgeous collection of antique and vintage wedding dresses. The dresses are stunning. You can look but can't touch. But aren't most museums like that. :) There are about 22 complete gowns. The detailing is incredible. I can not even imagine how much time it took to get into one of those dresses. What will the corsets and busing, etc. Just crazy. Eve, the owner, is lovely and incredibly knowledgeable about the time period and each of the dresses. The one thing that struck me the most was that there wasn't a single dress in white. The majority of the dresses were ivory colored. There was even a black, green, and tartan/plaid wedding dress. Eve said it was because the gowns were made of silk. It wasn't until the Queen had her wedding lace made from white that white became used to make wedding gowns. You could easily spend an hour or more admiring the gowns and learning from Eve. If you're in the area, it's worth the trip. Plus it's free. :)

She is very passionate and can spend her whole day talking about Victorian wedding dresses and their history! She is great!!! She even has special events and history classes about them. The museum is free, but donations are appreciated. There is a vintage boutique within the place and all the proceeds from the sales of outfits go to maintaining the museum. I found a beautiful lace dress I knew I had to buy right then and there! Great place!!! Recommended for visits or for shopping!

Rather than the historically accurate and moving drama of the past, the new director seems to have changed the act into one heavily permeated with frivolity and foolishness. There was a great deal of what he called native dancing that was nothing more than many kids simply kicking their feet in the air. And the girl they have playing Ramona this season does not sing well yet they had her struggling to carry a tune more than once. The show was lightly attended, and I doubt that it will do much better for the few performances remaining.

It was well-appointed, however, the price was outrageous, $50 per adult and $25 per child. My husband and I don't eat enough food to warrant the cost. It has a great atmosphere and the wait staff were very attentive. They are only open for dinner on Saturday and buffet brunch on Sunday. They close by 2 pm. We will not return.

We had a wonderful day yesterday at the Motte Museum Big Barn Classic Car Show here in Menifee…read more This was their 12th annual event of which I've attended a few. The Sold Out car show was full of beautiful Classics, Customs, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Trucks and Low-Riders. The parking facility was loaded with eye-candy for every palate. The show was run flawlessly under the leadership of Tommie Brown and the whole team at the Motte Museum. The Big Barn was displayed with a tribute to the Corvette from the families collection. Every generation, but my favorite was the 1963 Split Window "Fuelie" on the turntable which I would have to sell one of my houses to own. From the free coffee and donuts to participants, to the cars, to the polite hard-working staff, the food trucks and awards, this was a Fantastic event. Major kuddos to Tommie and the whole Motte family.
