We attended Tribute to Luther Vandross, presented by E.J. Ticket stated 7 p.m. show, but it started a little past 7:30 p.m. While the seats are arranged to accomodate viewing from every seat, my problem was that a lady in front of me was blocking my view, but I was able to adjust to see E.J. and cast perform. Good thing I wasn't behind someone who stood up. I couldn't hear words sung by one of the female performers because the background music was louder than her voice. Someone once said "the music should compliment the singer". I was amazed that this theater seats so many people. The seats were somewhat comfortable. For those who left at 9:30 p.m. before the second session-you missed a personal performance by E.J. and son, a message from E.J.'s brother to their father who passed away a year ago. Came to see CCR Tribute band last night called "RAD Moon Rising" and had a blast. My friend said I must have been raised in a cave because I didn't know any of their songs. I may have recognized one or two but from other singers. The band was a lot of fun... the keyboard guy was definitely my favorite. They serve popcorn, drinks, and adult drinks. The best part was the dancing. I am no spring chicken but I love that this place has the dance floor! #radmoonrising #historichemettheater read more

I was here for the Ira Davis "Stop Playing It Safe" event! It was awesome. The venue was nice and clean. The show was AMAZING and so well put together. The DreamDiver staff was professional and the speakers/performers were impactful and influential. There are two more DreamDiver experiences worth seeing before they leave the Hemet Theater! Tonight we attended our third tribute band concert of the summer at this venue. We experienced another great show. The AC/DC tribute band, Bonfire, rocked the place! This venue is a well kept secret that needs to be shared with everyone in our area. You won't find a better show for the money than you will get here. Ticket prices are very reasonable, drinks and snacks are very reasonable and it's a small venue so every seat is a good one. " Historical Theatre That's Been Brought Back To Life " Built-in 1921 The Historic Hemet Theatre is one of the oldest movie houses in the country. The Hemet Theatre lobby has been remodeled and is nearing completion. The Light, Sound, and Projection systems throughout the Theatre have all been nicely upgraded. The new Restrooms are so nice and well built. A lot of new Theatre shows starting at 7:00 pm, have been entered into the Historic Hemet Theatre schedule. We watched the Soto Band perform the hottest Latin-Funk-R&B- and Dance music. They were very good, as they played a very wide variety of popular music. We had a good time and enjoyed the Soto Band at the newly renovated Historic Hemet Theatre. read more

I've enjoyed seeing the performances at the theatre and how they try to stay relevant which is a huge plus. It's hard to not see the "wear and tear" of things there but as an overall, it's nice to see this place alive and going. read more

I recently went to a tribute concert here. The sound system was spot on and the band was amazing. The staff were so friendly it gave me a happy small town vibe. The only down side was that several of the super comfy chairs were in need of repair. The theater is 100+ years old and is in need of repairs / refurbishing but the staff is actively raising funds for this - you will probably enjoy prize raffles for this purpose at the show. They offered reasonably priced concessions including popcorn! The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The parking was easy and close. I will definitely visit again soon. read more

I have attended every show last season and also this season. What a great sound system and every band that played were awesome. It's so economical as you can certainly pay more elsewhere. Every seat in the house is great and there's a dance floor in front of the stage to really rock out !!I highly recommend it for an early evening of fun. Doors open at 6 pm and show starts at 7 pm and I am usually home by 9:30 pm. There's theater popcorn so yummy and candy and drinks all reasonable prices. Can't wait for upcoming December 10 th show with Ronstadt Revival with Linda Ronstadt. Saw them last year and I am hooked. read more

Hemet need to tear this theatre down and start over. The outside isn't welcoming and inside isn't clean. Inside is dark and dirty. Why go here when just 20 minutes away there's a state of the art theatre in Temecula for the same money. read more

Was looking forward to watching the Elton John tribute but was not happy with the service I got from the General Manager, very rude and he did not care if I asked for a refund, I too work with customers and have dealt with rude customers, I was not one of those customers so I didn't like how he didn't care me asking for a refund, very unprofessional and because of him I will not go back read more

So much to be said about the Historic Hemet Theatre. For one, I am so glad that David Bernal opened it back up. The place is a little run down, the floors are sticky, and the seats aren't the greatest, but every once in awhile they show some epic films like Ben Hur and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Shows are $5 and on Thursdays you can go for $3. The movies are little behind what other theatres show, but you can't beat the historic feel this place has. Enjoy! read more

We went to see the Platters and Temptations. The Platter show was great, even though it took 3 songs for the sound man to get it together. Vocals were great, harmonies tight and all and all good show. The Temptations on the other hand, sang a bunch of songs I never heard of. The sound was terrible. All you could hear was the band and way too much bass. The vocals were off. Probably because they couldn't hear their own voices. Very disappointed and we left after 4 songs. I hope the sound man was their guy, because if it is the theatre's they need to replace him!! read more

We recently went for the Bee Gees Gold venue, the band was terrific, we saw them in Brea and got hooked on how good they were. I bought tickets awhile back, very affordable. I will say that the theatre is in transition, they are fixing it up but when we went the A/C was on but might as well not be on, it was like an oven. The seats in the back were digging into the back of my legs and was not very comfortable. I hope in the future it will be better, but I can only give it 2 stars right now. I plan on giving them another shot in the coming years. read more

The Good ....Saw a Tom Petty tribute band last month and they were fantastic ..Had good seats about 5 rows back , so was so impressed with the band and the venue we bought tickets for the Bee Gees tribute band tonight and the Eagles band coming up. So for the bad ... I know it's hot outside and they said they had the ac way up , but I was sweating the entire show,,,get some fans in here... Plus this time we were unlucky enough to sit in the seats with the white tops that start half way back .. the view is fine from every seat but these seats are collapsing . My husbands was in a reclining position the entire show, my friends had a gap of about 5 inches in the back that her butt kept falling thru plus a metal piece that was running the length of the seat...the band themselves seemed to have good voices but was missing the full instrumental sounds of the actual BeeGees and the sound system made the band sound very amateurish. Couldn't figure out what it was ,but hope the Eagles sound better at this Venue and we don't get stuck in those seats again read more

I used to love this theater, Emerson the previous owner was a great personality and he showed movies that people wanted to see. After that new owners came in and since then there was only one movie I have seen there, which was the big labowsky. I have mentioned several times movies that I know would be successful. Monty python and the holy grail? Spirited away(which sold out in nearly every theatre in California this past weekend for the 3 day showing for their anniversary). Sadly, nothing but "live shows" of bands no one has heard of or at least not for a very long time. I roll my eyes, every time I see yet another old band that can't be selling many tickets. This place could be really cute, if they had someone who knew old movies that people would be dying to rewatch or newer movies that where also very successful. What a nice surprise to find a great venue for tribute bands in Hemet! We had seen advertisements for this location but we had assumed it would be in a movie theater setting with no room for dancing. We also wondered if it might be musty and dirty inside. Last Saturday some friends invited us to join them at the Desperado (Eagles tribute) band concert, and we were very pleasantly surprised. The inside was clean and pleasant, the seats plush and comfortable, with a nostalgic, historical feel. The band was incredible, and the music was great. We plan to become season ticket holders and go to their future tribute band concerts. It will be nice if the foundation is able to purchase the theater and keep the venue for the residents of Hemet. read more

Last Friday my son and his bride went to the Historic Hemet Theater and they played a video that my son created for their 1st year wedding anniversary. This was a surprise Anniversary gift and it was my understanding the entire night went off flawlessly. Of course none of this would have been possible without the cooperation from the Historic Hemet Theater. I wanted to thank you and your staff for treating my son and his wife with such kindness and respect. They both said that everyone was just so accommodating and friendly. Just when I start to get down about this town, then something like this happens and it restores my faith in the human aspect and the business community as a whole. Thanks again for what you did. The people who run this place very kind and good with children. The cost to watch a movie is only $5 a person; they also have affordable concerts and things. It's a nonprofit organization and they do a great job of taking care of the old theater! I'm so glad it's still there! Yes, it's a great piece of History and entertainment all in one! This is a great little old school single screen movie house. I'd love to make a film here some day... (filmmaker) well... we saw "The Goonies" last night, and it was cool to see it on the big screen again after so many years. Their selection varies, so you just have to check and see what movie is playing. We wanted to come see "The Christmas Story" for Christmas, but didn't make it out. The only thing we noticed was that it got cold! Now it must have been in the upper 30's to lower 40's outside... but I'm sure to save funds on heating such a big place, they don't turn the heat on, or perhaps they don't have the means, it being such an old building... I'm not knocking them for that, I understand they need to keep the place open, so if more folks go, perhaps we can get heat! ha ha... I' don't mind, except for my toes being cold... SO, my solution... in the winter... wear double socks! warm shoes!, warm pants & double up on sweater and jacket, and wear a beanie & you'll have a great time! ha ha... no seriously, we loved it... just bundle up : ) Funny, I talked with the guy I think is the owner several months ago, & told him that it'd be cool if they opened the theater up again... and now it's open... come on down and support the little theater! read more

They need to start playing old movies again. I have seen Clock Work Orange and a ton of the old great movies. I think they need to do a Starwars day and play all the starwars movies. Great place with cheap prices. read more
