I had always driven by on my way to Moreno Valley and finally got the chance to visit. It's serene and brings a lot of emotions. They have planes outside and a memorial for all the veterans. Upon entering you pay $18 per adult, $10 per child and toddlers are free. They had a scavenger hunt going on for the kids so that was super exciting. You really need several hours to go through everything because it's so interesting and there's so much information to take in. The upstairs area was closed and the events hall was also closed for an event. The employees were so nice and even gave us clues about the scavenger hunt. There's lots of cool places for photos and a coloring section inside the NASA area. We got candies in the 25 cent machines, dropped coins in the donation funnel and bought toys at the gift shop. We turned in our finished scavenger hunt and got slinkies. Outside there's a massive exhibit of different aircrafts used in different wars from all around the world. There's a radio museum outside as well. Overall we had such an amazing time. What a great way to learn. I highly recommend it to anyone. read more

We went today and had an amazing experience! My husband and I loved it there's so much history, especially from World War II. The museum is powerful, educational, and truly honors the brave men and women who served. One of the highlights of our visit was meeting a volunteer tour guide who was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. He shared that he had actually flown in some of the planes on display! Hearing his firsthand stories added a special, personal touch to the visit and really brought the history to life. The museum has a huge collection of aircraft from vintage warplanes to more modern jets and the indoor exhibits are full of stories, photos, and artifacts that are both emotional and inspiring. Admission is $15.00 and absolutely worth it. You can easily spend a few hours here taking it all in. We left feeling grateful, inspired, and already talking about coming back. My granddaughter's class went for a field trip there on April 30th 2026. I went with them and everything went well except when it was time to go shop to the souvenir store. When half of the class was trying to go in the man that was in charge at the moment we went in started screaming at all students to get out! This happened around 12:30. With over one hundred aircrafts, this museum is a spectacle for history enthusiasts. What was so astounding was through each door there seemed to be an unexpected part of the museum. It felt as though you were traveling through a portal.to another realm. The experience was very enjoyable. The staff was very professional. My teenager loves airplanes. He wants to be a pilot. This was the place for him to hang out! I wasnt expecting it to be so large. You just gotta keep walking because there are little gems! They run on volunteers. The gentleman who checked us in was so friendly and nice. He set the tone for the place. They have a tram outside that will take you around. You can walk it as we did. There's so much to see. They did a great job on this museum. I got a Groupon for 2 adults which saved me $8 each. The March Field Air Museum is an aviation museum near Moreno Valley and Riverside, California, located in March Air Reserve Base. This is one of the best museums for air. I've seen outside of the Smithsonian's. They have a wonderful array of aircraft inside and great historical depiction of the uniforms overtime and how they have changed. All of it has adequate information to read next to it so you'll understand the exhibit. Outside they had amazing cargo aircraft as well as bombers and fighters. It was so beautiful if you're into aircraft or air history at all, you need to get here definitely you must see. read more

Had a good time at this museum! There is an SR-71 inside and an array of over 100 planes and helicopters outside. As others have mentioned, wear a hat and shoes you don't mind getting dirty since you will be trekking in the dirt at some points. We also climbed up the tower and up the steps to get a closer view of the SR-71 and the museum floor. Brush up on your WWI and WWII info! There were some uniform and medal displays, but also some intriguing hand-written letters and personal stories. I watched part of a video with military personnel who were working in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor. One guy explained his work schedule prior to the bombing (which included checking out girls at the beach lol) then how the war changed navy duties. It was a personal and sobering account. The personal aspect makes this museum stand out. Similarly, the volunteers and staff add to the character of this museum. It was great speaking with to Bob in the communications & radio room who gave us a quick tour. He explained how they got their impressive equipment (was 1/3 of donor's collection) and was knowledgable of the evolution of radios. transmitters and receivers. I don't even know the diff between AM and FM, shortwave radio etc so this was all new to me. He even let us do some Morse code! Note this is still an active radio room. Other items - in the back of main museum, there is a whole enclosed area dedicated to the space race. It is easy to miss because you have to go through automatic doors, but don't skip it. There is a hallway by the restroom that was made to look like an underground subway area that wasn't all that interesting. That was prob the only area we skimmed through. I recommend March Field AIr Museum for a good history lesson, and if nothing else -- you get to see some cool military planes, helicopters and jeeps. read more

We were able to take our time and explore the museum in about 3 hours, but if we really read EVERYTHING in detail it would take multiple days to take in everything. It was bigger than we expected! I only had a basic knowledge of USA military and aviation history, but I left feeling like I learned a lot. I was engaged and fascinated the whole time. If you like historical fashion like me, then you are in for a treat! They have a ton of military and space uniforms on display that are so cool to see. There are many other artifacts on display too. I appreciated that there were non-United States centered information included in the displays too, such as acknowledgement of the Soviet space program and its contributions or the Vietnamese War uniforms. There is an indoor and outdoor portion of the museum, so bring some sunglasses and a hat because you'll be looking up at the planes a lot. I am way out of the target audience of this museum but I had a blast, so I absolutely recommend visiting this museum if you have any interest in military, airforce, spaceforce, or aviation. read more

this was our very first time going here and we lived in Riverside for 35 years and we are so surprised it was just down the street and we never have been!! so so happy that we went. We went on a weekday and we went on a Groupon and we actually got a deal and got a discount! Our kids really loved the environment. They loved seeing all the airplanes and loved how concept everything was there a lot of history here and it just brought back a lot of memories from the stuff I learned back in history class. we did everything probably within two hours or so and going outside. There was just so many airplanes and it was just pretty awesome learning about different airplanes that they use back in the day. it was pretty cool that one of the employees said that they host parties or events here too !! parking was free and it was right off of the exit of Van Buren so it was really close and the museum is actually close to an In-N-Out as well lol this place would totally be a wonderful kids field trip if they were in elementary school !! definitely recommending if you have little kids that are into airplanes our kids would always see the airplanes passing by the freeway and they would yell airplane airplane so we definitely thought of going here 100% recommend! read more

This is an amazing facility for any service you'd like to hold here. Jen was easy to get a hold of, easy to talk to and explained everything in detail. We had my dad's memorial service here after the service at the Riverside National Cemetery. It was a perfect venue so that my family would not have to travel so far. The venue is clean, the restrooms are clean and everyone is very helpful. I would definitely recommend this venue. It's not an expensive but for my sanity it was the perfect venue for us and it everything turned out perfect. If we needed anything the workers were more than willing to help us take care of it and they were all very kind and respectful. It's a great place. read more

We happened upon this sight on our way home to Vegas and took a chance to see some amazing things. Our weather was absolutely gorgeous. Incredible collection of aircraft. Was amazed at the SR-71 inside, including all of the additional equipment like the starter carts, their spy camera lenses, etc. There is also a touching display of a WWII pilot and attempts to locate his body and return him to the US. It had a ton of his handwritten letters home. Outside, there is an impressive display of modern and classic military aircraft. I loved seeing the F-15 next to the F-14. Seeing the older bombers like the B-17 was great, especially if you've recently watched Master Of The Air. II would love a guided audio tour of the museum! read more

I love museums, but I'd be lying if I said I wanted to come here. My boyfriend did, he has an interest in planes and whatnot, so I told him we could stop by on our way home. Well, we stopped in, and I was surprised it's not just planes! There's a whole museum on the inside loaded with pictures, and old uniforms, and replicas and so much more! I love the history of WWI and WWII, and they have so much stuff to look at from both! I started out dreading coming in, and by the end of it, I didn't want to leave! March Field Air Museum - Museums Near Me - Riverside, California

Planned a day out for me and my boy. This was a great stop because it's right along the active runway and March Air Base, and the Marine F-35s were taking off and landing along with cargo planes. There are bleachers to sit and watch under the shade of an aircraft wing. Bring a hat and wagon/stroller for your kids because the walkway goes around all of the aircraft on display, and there are LOTS of them. We spent most of our time outside because we were enjoying the planes taking off. There are great toys and things like patches in the gift shop and friendly volunteers talking to guests. Just really terrific and worth the stop. My lil guy loved the displays he could climb in and really had fun so did I! After I planned to head further down the 215 to go to SkyDive Perris. I sky dived there several years ago but we went there and watched the skydivers fall out of the sky while we had lunch at the Bombshelter Cafe. Really terrific and since they are close together you can really make your own airshow. I'll post a different review for Sky Dive Perris. read more

How many of you have passed this museum on the I-215 time after time? I have! Finally decided to check it out! Hubby loved it! He knew so many of the planes and was so excited to see them up close and personal! We've been to a couple other air museums, and each one of them have their own collection that is so cool to see. You can easily spend hours here! There are so many exhibits to check out. It's fascinating! There is a radio room where you can check out old vintage radios! They have volunteers that take the time to give you a little bit of information on the radios on display. Totally worth checking out! I believe they have narrated tram tours for $5. We didn't do the tour as we just wanted to walk around ourselves. So, next time you have some spare time, stop and check out this museum! read more

I thought I wrote a review for this place already, but I guess not. This musem is great! There's quite a large outdoor section of planes. You'll get some nice walking from end to end of the premises. The inside isn't that large, but still nice. It's a nice museum overall, the outdoors is larger than Chino's Planes of Fame Air Museum's outdoor section, but their interior in total is larger, I believe. Also, another piece of information. This museum is haunted. Paranormal investigator, Zak Bagans and his team went here and an episode aired about this museum. I must say that in the restoom, I did get an eerie, unpleasant feeling like I just want to get out of there as fast as I could. Fortunately, I didn't have to go this last visit, but I did before. Oddly that time, someone was in one of the stalls, but it was still an eerie feeling. The staff were very, very friendly and welcoming this last time I went. They could put some awnings outside for a little shade while walking around. read more

What a great way to spend a few hours. When we arrived we entered a courtyard of planes and statues. We entered the building, presented our tickets and started looking around. They made an announcement that 2 F-35's would be landing to head toward the flight deck. Once we got there we were able to witness them landing and taxing in front of us. There were so many planes to look at not to mention helicopters, 2 older military cars and some jeeps. There was also a radio room where 2 veterans told us about the different radios and how they were used. Everyone there was nice and knowledgeable. There was also a flight simulator you could use, that was fun flying a plane. This museum is a must, we were glad we were able to visit. read more

My 20 year old son thought this place was amazing!!! He is the one pictured! I never had an interest in history or airplanes. After taking my son here, I learned so much information. Now, I want to learn more! There is a lot to see on the inside, but even more on the outside. Huge military planes! If you are really into this kind of thing, plan on spending several hours there. There are indoor restrooms. I believe you could pack a lunch and bring it outside and eat it. There was a picnic table there. Or you could eat in your car and go back in. The people that either worked there or probably volunteered there were so informative. Many of them have been in wars and can tell you more information than you will be able to remember. My brothers and I grew up around aircraft's because of my dads love & passion for the aerospace industry. He passed during COVID, my older two boys were fairly young, my younger two never got to meet him. Whenever we get to go to air shows or museums, I get to talk about my memories as a kid with my dad, with my kids. It's a special way for us to remember him and enjoy our family time together. We took our youngest son for a little photoshoot for his "Top One" first birthday. This museum is such a neat place for families! We ordered our tickets through Groupon. We got there earlier in the morning, the weather was good until it got later- hot! They have a little scavenger hunt for the kiddos, with a chance to earn a little prize at the end. I drove from West LA specifically for this museum and was glad I did so. From the giant SR-71 to a replica of the Kitty Hawk Flyer to all sorts of other aircrafts from many different countries this place has a ton of planes and parts to look at; in fact anything aviation related is inside down to art. Open, free roam style you choose where to start and end. They have a giant indoor hangar filled with tons of planes as well as all sorts of other flight related goodies to see. They also have a giant outdoor area filled with planes; about the size of 3 football fields worth; or maybe more. They also have a tram you can ride for $10 to see all the planes outside, although I did not take this ride myself as there were too many kids. Not the museum's fault though. Overall a great museum for anyone interested in flight, engineering, or history. Parking is easy and right in front. It can get warm inland so I would suggest a hat if you plan to venture outside. read more

It has been years since we last visited this museum. We enjoyed it back then, but were pleasantly surprised by the expansion and improvements made. This museum now rivals many larger air museums. Interactive displays engage patrons of all ages and unique exhibits draws your attention. I loved the ingenuity of the foot locker display. I know it sounds odd, but if you visit, you will understand. Outside you are able to stroll among the expansive number of planes. Being able to get up close, walking under the wings, and alongside the body only then do you understand the enormous size of some of these planes. Incredible! Before leaving for the day, be sure to visit the display outside near the entrance. This interesting exhibit features important US documents engraved in Granite. There is also an memorial for service canines. It was an enjoyable, educational and inspiring afternoon. We highly recommend a visit especially in the cool months as it will get mighty hot on the tarmac in the summer. read more
