We stayed for our second time at Hemlock campground and are super happy we found our go to spot to stay in the Poconos! The owners are very friendly and the campsites are excellent. We stayed in an RV spot (#51) which was perfect. Easy back in and plenty of room to hang out outside of the camper. The majority of the campground is heavily shaded by trees which is exactly what you need during summer months. Not to mention you get the full camping experience here vs other campgrounds that clear the trees to pack in as many spots as possible. Although we were only there for a few days the long term RV campers were very friendly to us which made us feel even more welcome. Also the wifi was perfect the entire time we stayed there. This isn't something to take for granted at a campground so it's worth noting and we are thankful for it! Although tent camping isn't our thing anymore we noticed how awesome the tent sites were. They looked spacious and comfortable so based on what we saw I'd recommend tent camping there as well! read more

I wish I would read reviews before I book stay here. All bad reviews that owner Barbara rude and "karen" is true. I booked 1 bdr cottage for 2 night stay with my family(two kids). Room was smelling of smoke and dog pee. I asked the owner to change the room but she refused to do it with the reason no available cottage right now. Despite all cottacges around were empty. Then we told her that we have no choice but stay(because didn't want to ruin vacation on first day) but also my wife told her that she will write review about smell. Then she turned to angry bird and switched to mood "karen" mode. She and her husband tried to find justification to kick us out from the campground. And they found it. My 13 years old daughter was in a swimming pool and suddenly she approches to us with aggression like: "your daughters lied to me with saying she is almost 14 when she is actually 13. So she can't be in the swimming pool by herself and for that reason we have to leave. After back on forth police came and told us that the business owner doesn't want you guys on their property so leave. So again, first day and they asked us to leave in middle of the night with two kids(5 and 13). She said going to refund all amount and I didn't argue at the beginning tried to be nice and deescalate the situation but barbara openly said that she doesn't like my wife and will not let her stay here. Wow... she really was a mean to us promised to refund but after packed up she hide behind a closed doors and didn't even want to take the key )) Long story short every bad review about rudeness of these people are true. My family and I have been going to Hemlock for 6 years now and hopefully more years to come! As soon as we come home we start counting down for the next year. The owners, Barb and Craig are by far the best! They make us feel right at home every single year. They go above and beyond to make everyone's stay perfect. Besides the arcade,pool and other amenities they also do things on the weekend that involves all the campers together such as ceramics and bingo which was our favorite part this year! (Part 2 review- Roopash) My sister who was ahead of me started to head out, and this was moments after I nodded and said sorry to Barbara. Not sure what else either of us needed to say at that point but more importantly I needed to follow my sister because she was leading the way and I proceed to go so I wouldn't loose them. So I hit the button to put up my passenger window where my wife was sitting and left. When we got back, upon entering the lady was there again and she stopped us before we could get to the entrance. Seemed she was waiting the whole time for us to get back. I rolled my windows down as she's on my side of the car, and she immediately takes her hand, passes it through my car window and points her finger to my wife and says " YOU DO NOT ROLL YOUR WINDOW UP WHEN I AM TALKING TO YOU. BECAUSE OF THAT YOU GUYS WILL PARK UP HERE AND PROCEED TO WALK TOWARDS YOUR CAMPGROUND INSTEAD OF PARKING THERE, YOU CAN TAKE YOUR STUFF AND WALK." Excuse me??? Is this a campground or military training base? When we tried to talk back to her, I told her first of all My wife did not put the window up, I did, and I really do not think I was speeding and that my car is loud so maybe you assumed I was. She said no, you were speeding. And after that my wife tried to say something but she proceed to continue speaking over us and raising her voice. So I felt it was appropriate to mute her by revving my car and also to remind her how loud it can be. I'm sorry to anyone I bothered but at that point I was beyond frustrated and felt I didn't needed to shut her up somehow. Her attitude and ego were just extremely over the top, I have never seen an owner of any business act this way till this day. I'm not gona sit in my car to have some lady point fingers at my wife and come at her like that for something she didn't even do, and more importantly for something that should not affect how you provide service as a business. BARBARA WAS SO UPSET SHE COULDN'T FINISH HER SENTENCE she wanted us to be separated from our family and walk with all our luggage. Ha okay, seems like the best way to solve an issue. When I paid to come here, there were never any rules about staying still and not being allowed to leave from any conversation coming from the staff. Even if we did something wrong, we are 100% free to walk away from you! Whether you are offended or not! You're not a government agent, you run a campground! I thought, Are we owned by you once we enter this campground? Was she racially profiling and discriminating or was she just pissed off by me driving an obnoxiously loud vehicle? All Seems freakin possible to me! I asked one of the staff members there, please show me footage of myself speeding because I can tell you I wasn't. He said they wouldn't have that. Wow, of course not, but Good to know your security sucks! And To be 100% honest I did not even know she was continuing to speak to us before we originally left. If anything at all after I said sorry she went quite for a moment! And if she didn't she was definitely insane enough to think we could hear what she was saying behind her mask at her volume at that point. But what else could she possibly need to say so strongly that she's forcing us to not park near our family and force us to walk with all our bags to the campground? I already apologized earlier and literally neither my wife of myself had anything negative to say to what she was asking for. At this point it seemed that she was literally just pissed off we didn't hear her out and we had to pay for that. It wasn't even about the "speeding" anymore! I have never dealt with someone who abuses their "power" to such ridiculous levels as Barbara had. Do not come here IF you fear discrimination or profiling because I guarantee you, you'll see and feel it! If not that, don't come with a loud car, and make sure you stay put when their staff speaks to you or else they'll force you to do things no businesses should ever do as a solution! read more

She comes in guns blazing without trying to understand anything. Her perspective is the only one that exist. She is accusatory and has NO PROOF. I didn't get her name so I'll proceed to call her Karen. KAREN needs to take customer service 101. My family and I left the property and my brother has a lowered and modified exhaust. It makes loud noises. I saw she stopped my brother and told him he needed to follow the speed limit,5. He said I was following the speed limit, exhaust is really loud. There are two speed bumps as you have to exit. As everyone knows, it's a disservice to speed when your car is lowered. His exhaust reved and she refused to believe other wise. Anyways he apologized and we went on our way. Karen was literally waiting to us to come back and HARASSEd my brother. She stopped him and pushed her hand in his car and started pointing her fingers at him. My brother proceeded to tell her that he did i not speed and its easily assumed he was speeding because of how loud the car can get. She did not care to listen. My brother proceeded to rev his exhaust and not move his car to prove his point that the car was loud and it was easily be misinterpreted as the car being fast. She then proceeded to tell my brother that he needed to park his car (away from our camping site) and walk to wherever we were staying. That's when my family became extremely upset. Your sitting there accusing us of something that was not even done and didn't even care to LISTEN. My brother said I'm a paying patron I am not leaving my car in a random spot. The reason I'm calling her Karen is bc she said oh okay if you don't want to leave your car I will CALL THE POLICE. Like what? I asked Karen if she had a speedometer that tracked how fast a car is going. She said no. So I said you are accusing him of going over the speed limit when he told you he did not. Karen kept speaking over me. It was then I asked her to stop speaking over me. She finally shut up. I told her your accusing him of something that wasn't done and have no proof. You are stereotyping because he has a loud car. I proceeded to tell her that it would cause more damage to his own car to speed over a speed bump as the car was lowered. All she could say was I was stereotyping anyone. Her entire staff was just standing there like minions not saying anything. There was no reason for her to stick her hand in my brothers vehicle, point her finger in his face and essentially be a dick and be accusatory. It's such a shame that this incident could've been avoided if Karen approached it differently and wasn't accusatory. As you can see, the theme of the negative reviews are the staff is UNFRIENDLY. Don't support people who don't check their own prejudices and get offended when they are called out on it. If you are a person of color STAY AWAY. They had white people doing all types of nonsense and had nothing to say to them. And this included having loud cars and trucks. Y'all really suck. And Karen I know your reading this, so I would recommend you going to see a therapist. There's no reason someone should have the rage that you do. Also, another pointer. Take a customer service class and learn how to have conversations with people without having this rage inside of you. read more

This was my first time staying at Hemlock Campground and I am thoroughly impressed. The campsites themselves are well taken care of and the red mulch that outlines the tent sites is a very nice touch. It made the ground much softer than a typical tent site and even helped prevent everything from turning into a muddy mess when it rained. The bathhouse is by far the nicest bathhouse I've seen at a campground and everyone who works there is very professional and caring. I highly recommend Hemlock and look forward to returning. read more

My group and I were so happy we chose to stay here. Barbara was so nice and accommodating. We were a little late getting there from Philly, so she left the light on for us and taped our key to the door. The cottage we rented was super cozy and perfect for our weekend in the Poconos. There were two bedrooms, a working shower, and plenty of utensils and glasses. We were excited to cook and use the fire pit. Everything was easy. The office had plenty of snacks to buy, and they were even giving away kittens. We will definitely be coming back next year! read more

Fantastic camping experience, or "glamping," as my girlfriend calls it. Our hosts were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our campsite was clean and they use wood chips so your tarp and tent stay dry. Fire pit is nice, too. Our cast iron skillet fit nicely. The grounds themselves are very pretty with lots of tree cover. If you're a runner, the loop is about .3 miles. I had a nice 7 miler in the morning and it was quite peaceful. Very safe and nice people, didn't notice any problems. Kid friendly, so take note, however you take that. ;) Will definitely return! read more

4 months ago I posted great place, because the owner asked me to write a review, becouse of a falling out she had with a camper so i did.. Nearing the end of the season I wanted to look at my options of other camps. I took a ride on a Wednesday to look at a camp 25 mins closer to my house, when I arrived I checked in at Foxwoods campground on facebook and i was looking at what they might offer.. I left thinking maybe let me think about it, since being a seasonal allready parked and fully set up at hemlock. Then that night I get a message on Facebook from the manager at Foxwoods campground and she said some woman Barbara from Hemlock camp called wanting to know why I was there, was i looking to move in to there camp, did I ask pricing did I ask if I could have 2 or 3 sites.. So after that I message the next weekend I went to my camper and packed it up and moved it to Foxwoods campground I lost my 200.00 deposit I had already givin Barbara at Hemlock to hold my site for next year.. Sorry I am not camping in a place were they stalk you like that . I have young kids not really sure why she thinks that was a good idea or a good business practice.. read more

2nd time here cam during Labor Day weekend. My boyfriend and I LOVE this place for camping. We did full on camping for Labor day weekend. The whole campground is super cute, well kept, cozy and lots of fun! They have an arcade, gazebos, checkers, basketball hoop and have hours of activities (ceramics , archery , zumba). There is also a playground for kiddos The campsites (tents) are super covered with trees and spaced out perfectly for all the privacy you need. They have quite hours which are strict and everyone seems to follow 10pm-8am ! So awesome. Activites: everything is super close! We went ATV tour, horseback riding, kyacking, cave tours. You name it and the Poconos has it. I absolutely love this place and plan to be coming back yearly! read more

OMG I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews. THIS PLACE ROCKS. My friends and I wanted to find a place that we could go for one night to just get away from summer classes (we go to Penn in Philly), so we researched. This was the best place we could find that allowed alcohol. The woman who answered all of my phone calls was SO SWEET. I told her we would be getting in later than the time that they close the office, so she said she'd leave the key for me at xyz hiding spot, with a map. When we got there, the key was where she said it would be, along with a map, and a HANDWRITTEN note telling us how to get to our campsite and to enjoy. Omg so sweet. PLUS, she asked if we would need firewood, and I said I wasn't sure if we would stop at a supermarket on the way. She said, no problem, I'll leave the door to the woodshed open, just take what you need and it'll be on the honor system. Seriously, this place was amazing. Other pluses: +Bathrooms are absolutely spotless. I have been to many many a campground, and have never been to such clean bathrooms. Toilets, sinks, showers, spotless. +There's a playground right amongst the tent/RV sites. +The entrance is adorable. There's a little racoon plastic cartoon thing on the orange and white traffic arm thingy that keeps cars from entering without the proper key. There's also a huge checker board with huge checker pieces, and a horseshoe game, and one of those things where you can stick your face in the holes and take pictures. We were marshmallow faces. This place is great for families. +I just have to re-emphasize, the owners are amazing. You can tell there is a lot of love put into this place. If you're looking for a campsite in this area, look no further. Especially if you want to crack a beer or two, because none of the state parks allow alcohol. See website for all pricing info. We have been coming to Hemlock for 3 years now and I have to say I will go no where else... The owners are extremely nice and take pride in their business .... they are extremely friendly and so are the other campers... The bathrooms are immaculate and so are the camp sites... they have a store where you can find anything you are looking for and if not the shoprite and walmart are right down the street... we love going to the casino at night ... The pool rec hall and playground are a plus when I take my son...Needless to say look no further you won't be disappointed!!! read more

This is such a beautiful space. It's unfortunate that the management doesn't match the scenery. We came here to celebrate our moms birthday and seeing that we have an exceptionally large family, my mom spoke with the management upon her arrival to let them know that additional family members would come but not stay the night to celebrate the birthday. The management acknowledged that we were going to have additional people per camp site (we had rented 3 in total). When the first group of our family members (who happen to be darker in skin color) arrived to the camp, the women who checked them in stated that the addition to the group was too many people (even though management already approved the additional group). When our second group had arrived to the campground, management did not say anything. Two of our vehicles decided to head out for a few minutes to pick up snacks. Maybe it was us having difficulty with getting the gate key to work or maybe we just 'looked' like a good diverse group of people to attack. I was driving in front of my brother and I should just say my brother has a lowered vehicle and a modified exhaust. There were other vehicles present and were fairly loud but did NOT get stopped. There are also two speed bumps after the exit & the speed limit is 5 MPH. As my brothers car was exiting, one of the women in the management stopped him before he went over the second speed bump and told him that he was not allowed to drive over 5 MPH. He wasn't driving over 5 MPH & I should say that his car rev's when he needs to come to almost a complete stop to go over the speed bumps. He tried to tell her that he was not speeding and he apologized but she did not care to listen. When we came back, this woman made it her purpose to stop him before entering the camp site, approached his vehicle, stuck her hand in the vehicle and started pointing her fingers in my brothers face telling him that he needed to get out his car, leave it in a space that was not monitored and walk back to the campsite. What makes this more upsetting is that not only was this woman SCREAMING in my brothers face, she was being extremely disrespectful to everyone that was involved. Even after apologizing and still abiding the speed limit, she told him to get out and that she would provide a refund. She also insisted on calling the POLICE if my brother didn't walk to our campsite (which wasn't close & just to make things worse, my brothers wife had a foot injury). Mind you, we were all present to celebrate my moms birthday. At this point, we were all upset that we could no longer celebrate my mom. I stepped out the vehicle to speak with this woman and she proceeded to yell at me too. I wanted to simply explain to her that there was no way he was speeding especially because he had a child in his back seat. I prompted her to with a question, "If anyone else on this campground does something that YOU do not agree with, do you just kick them out?" And she said of course not.... (Not sure if it's just me here, but I think the right terminology here to use is that this woman is a hypocrite?) We prompted her and asked so then why are you kicking him out? She wasn't able to find an answer for us. My sister continued to state that the woman was stereotyping my brother and his vehicle and let me tell you .. this woman reacted as if she was set on fire. Started yelling and screaming and saying nobody was getting a refund and then stated that we all had to leave. This just don't sit right with me ... My brother (furious in this moment) decided he couldn't stay in this space and demanded a refund in which the management refused to now give after they stated they were going to provide a refund. After my brother left, I needed to let the management know that if they think that this is 'good customer service', they need to rethink that. I told the management that we as humans all have prejudices and bias' within us but it is our choice and decision to recognize that and make a conscious effort to make sure that we don't attack people. The woman who was yelling and screaming said she was not racist, bias and that none of this was about being prejudice. We said to her this is all about that because you made somebody leave because the sound of his car and because she assumed that he was speeding over TWO speed bumps with a child in the backseat? She proceeded to say it was never about the car ... (Am I crazy, or does this woman not make any sense?) Our family is NEVER coming back here again. & just an FYI - this one is for you Barbara. (Yes the crazy woman screaming at the top of her lungs is Barbara.) This is the first time in 13 years my mom was able to have all of her children be present for her birthday seeing that one of her children serves in the US NAVY. So Barb, thanks for ruining her birthday and making this the 14th year she wasn't able to celebrate. read more

Last weekend my family and I had ventured to this campground and on Saturday afternoon when my cousins and I went to get ice cream we were stopped by the owner and she approached us with a rude tone. She claimed that we had been speeding over two speed bumps, and with a car on front of us. I have never seen someone with this much lack of common sense. Why would he speed over a speed bump when his entire family is there and he had a child in the back. And I was that child in the back. Instead of having a talk with the driver you decide to kick him out with your Karen tone. You don't seem to take things reasonably and you jump straight to conclusion and not have a rational conversation. I recommend that you should rethink some things and approach people with a kind tone not like the one you approached us with. And just because you're white doesn't mean that you can have that control over us. If you were us you would have probably reacted the same as us cause clearly you only hear what you want to hear. And lastly I recommend you gets some cameras to see how wrong you are. And also he had a modified exhaust but I'm guessing that your furious butt doesn't know what that is. read more

This was our 4th year staying here. Always a wonderful time. The owners remember you from year to year and make everyone feel at home. There is a pool, camp store, rec room/arcade, outdoor games, large playground, and this year they added a "selfie" station which the kids enjoyed immensely. They offer many fun activities for families and kids (and the grownups too!). The facilities are all top notch and clean, it's only minutes from Tobyhanna State Park (we kayak/paddle board) and so close to so many other activities. We will be coming for a 5th year of course! read more

The camp sites are tiny and are right on top of each other - at any given time you can see the entirety of about 5 other campsites. The cabin we were in was right up against the rec center, so there wasn't even really a backdrop of trees at my particular campsite. The biggest problem however was that at about 6 pm of our first full day my dog noticed a bear trying to climb a tree directly behind our cabin - which was right next to the Rec Room/Pool area. Yes, a BEAR came within 10 feet of my leashed dog and, after being startled by my dogs barking, proceeded to then walk in the direction of the campsite playground. There was some mild panic as family's flocked in the opposite direction, but what startled me most was that 20 minutes later I saw a much smaller bear (possible a cub?) running on the other side of the campground. With multiple bears I decided that I couldn't enjoy my stay there any longer and had to leave. To the credit of the owners they responded quickly and came out to try to shoo the bear away. I am not familiar with black bears so I don't know how dangerous such a close encounter actually is, but I was very startled that the bear would seem so comfortable so close to the cabins - which are very close to the entrance/community areas of the campground. I'm sure that a more experienced camper would be very aware of the dangers of bears in the Pocono Mts. However this is advertised as a family campground, and nowhere on there website is there any mention of the bears that are obviously very comfortable frequenting the area. Because the campsite is set up in such a kid-friendly way I feel that they should have taken extra precautions to warn us about a known bear problem. read more

The campground was just ok. The divider between the campsites are big pieces of rocks which is not the safest if you have little ones . We had 3 sites adjacent to each other and could never be comfortable kids running around because of these site dividers. Also we had someone complain about having us camp fire late at night...really? We have 3 campsites next to each other and we had the camp fire in the middle. I am a regular camper and I totally respect the quite hours . But for fire really? The restroom are the yuckiest i have seen in a long time . Fortunately one of our friends had a cottage so I ended up using the shower there. I will definitely not go back there or recommend this place. read more

If I could leave no stars I truly would. I understand the customer May not always be right, however, as someone who has worked in RETAIL for quiet some time now, and as a college student and mother, I am appalled at the format in which the manager/owner of this site runs the area. It is very easy to get frustrated, I am sure, yet I do not feel it is okay to simply throw your frustrations out on those who decide to spend their money and time at a place you run, conversations can be held without pointing blame nor raising voices. I find it extremely unprofessional and knowing that this is what she is teaching those who work with her is frightening. I had to sadly witness her frantic and verbally put down another individual (who happened to be a person of color) for literally absolutely nothing but a bit of noise (which as a campground you should expect) I am astonished, as other campers were also making noise and doing their own thing yet they were singled out. Although I am white passing, as a Hispanic woman, and daughter of two immigrants, I am truly saddened by this, you can truly tell we still have so much to learn about being inclusive! such a beautiful place with such poor customer service and disrespectful management. If you truly want to spend some peace and attend a location I suggest going elsewhere and ensuring the location is open to treating everyone equally. As for the manager, I suggest anger management courses and perhaps a few more classes on managing in general. Thank you read more

First time at Hemlock and had a memorable time! The staff is very friendly and even have a small market to purchase firewood ($5) and other supplies you might have forgotten to pack! There are some activities to do there like horseshoes, softball, basketball, swimming pool, ping pong, and arcade games. There is also a "themed" activity every Saturday in the rec hall. Went with a group of 7; spent $45 dollars for 2 nights(minimum). It included water(running faucet), electricity/power(2 outlets per site), picnic table, fire pit, and the bathroom is conveniently close with showers, toilets, and sinks. There is also a laundry room on site. This is a campground I look forward to next year on my annual trips to PA read more

My group of 'glampers' stayed at Hemlock over the past weekend. We camp once in the summer annually. We do extensive research prior to booking and try to stay at a different campground every year. We're a fun group and camp to play bonding games, and get away from the city for a weekend. Hemlock seemed like the right choice this year, and since we haven't had a problem at any previous campgrounds, we figured the case would stay the same here. Well there's good and there's bad with Hemlock and if they were to fix their bad, I'd bump this review up to 4 or 5 stars. Let's start with what went well. Reserving our campsites was pretty straight forward and easy. The campgrounds though small compared to previous ones we've been to, were very well kept. It should be let known that the cottages are no more than 10 feet apart from each other. This isn't captured well on the website's photos. Lucky for us, our neighbors were very friendly. As far as campgrounds go, my group was very pleased with what was offered. Unless you're going to a premium campground for $300 a person, you're not going to find a place much cleaner. Just wish there were more woods, hiking trails, or just nature in general around the campgrounds. Guess not much can be done there. Here's what sucked... Our issue was with management. From reading other reviews, you'd gather that the owner is friendly. Maybe she is, to people she likes. But to our group, there was bad energy from the get go! The night we checked in, she warned us about the septic system for the cottages. Something I had already known since they make that clear on the website. Also I've lived at a home with septic problems. It isn't pretty. Instead of talking to us like the adults we are and cautioning against over-use of the cottage bathrooms, she was very condescending in tone. "If it messes up, that's on you. I'll be just fine with my working toilet". Come on... There's a difference between warning your guests about the limitations, and making them feel bad before they've even had a chance to take a foot in! That rubbed us the wrong way, and we can tell from that she had a domineering type personality. Basically stay out of her hair, was our strategy. Later that night, the majority of our group arrived and to catch up and hang out... we all decided to stay in the cottage. It was roomy and had fans, so makes sense to all be together right? It's not as if everyone was going to sleep there (cottage sleeps 5-6). Owner comes to our door not to tell us to keep the noise down, but instead to threaten to kick us out of the campsite. As respectfully as possible, we told her we would keep the noise down and apologized for any disturbances. She then stated that we couldn't all be in the cottage. Why not? We weren't going to openly challenge her right after she threatened to kick us out the campgrounds that we planned months in advance. But my group was very confused as to why we couldn't all congregate in the one location that could accommodate all of us. The next morning, our friendly neighbor noted that the owner keeps "checking on us". Basically giving us the heads' up that we were in her crosshairs. Thank you ever-vigilant neighbor. The next day went fine as we made plans to leave the campgrounds during the day to avoid this lady's wrath. At night we made sure to keep real quiet and tried to split up a few times. Basically adhering to her rules that we're pretty sure were magnified towards our group. The morning we left, we made sure to thoroughly clean and vacuum the cottage. For 6 people in a cottage, garbage pileup wasn't that bad. But we wanted to make sure the place was left spotless. Plus when everything you do is put under scrutiny, it's a good idea to overcompensate. That day we went to a hiking trail to finish our trip, when we get a voicemail from the owner. If I could attach the voicemail here, I would. But we did save it out of sheer disbelief of the gall of this woman. She claimed that my group broke the table and deliberately tried to hide the damage. She charged our credit card the amount for the broken table. I can't dispute the table being broken, because I have no proof that it wasn't. I wasn't always in the cottage to see everything going on. But as mentioned earlier in this review, it was how she came across. Insinuating that we deliberately tried to hide the broken table when this was news to us. I was quite speechless when I heard the voicemail. So I think it only fair that I warn others campers looking to stay at Hemlock, to be on your best behavior and be very careful when you speak to the lady at the front desk. Her attitude marred an otherwise pleasant weekend. Hosts should be friendly and welcoming, not off-putting and/or possibly stereotyping. Was she that way because we were a young and colorful group? I have no idea, but I would never stay here again. You shouldn't have to feel like the host hates you when you're trying to vacation. Beware!! read more

Warning: if you are camping in a tent, there are only four sites to pick from, all of which are right next to a playground. Do yourself a favor and grab a campsite at the state park for half the price, unless you enjoy the screams of children playing at 6:30am. This is by far the worst camping experience I have ever had. read more

My husband and I have not been camping for very long, we just got a camper this year. Our first few times out we were not very impressed with the campground we went to. Not so with Hemlock! We got there and the owners were wonderful! and the grounds just beautiful! It is also situated in an area with lots to do! We just didn't want to leave! The only reason that I don't want to write a review is I don't want them to get overrun and then we cannot get in LOL LOVE THIS PLACE AND CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT IT! read more

Unfortunately, I had the complete opposite experience. I called to make a reservation and was received by some lisping poor excuse of a man who hung up on me and said he was canceling my reservation after I asked the question. " MT. Pocono campgrounds offers the same lot-including electricity and water hookup at the same price as Hemlocks bare bones powerless dry lot, could you tell me what sets your camp site apart? " the fact that this guy took offense to me when raising this comparison and responding by taking the liberty of canceling my reservation and rudely hanging up without further discussion did not sit well with me. I will be stopping by the site to speak with the owner today and get his/her opinion on the situation... I'll update the results later as to how the owner response to my complaint.... read more

I have spent much time here. This was a home away from Florida for at least a month at a time. Loved the friendliness My husband and I did it all tent RV and cabin rental. It is clean, it does have wildlife such as an occasional bear, skunk and raccoon. Truly the perfect camping experience. read more

We visited Hemlock Campground with our 3 children at the beginning of he 2013 camping season. We could not have been more impressed with the campground and its facilities! The sites were clean and level, and the restrooms were spotless. You could tell that the owners take pride in their business; the property is beautifully landscaped and immaculately maintained. My children loved the playground, the large outdoor checkers game, and the rec hall. The owners were friendly and outgoing (as were the seasonal campers). As far as campgrounds go, this one deserves the full five star rating. It really exceeded our expectations and we'll be returning again soon. read more

Very nice campground. Our site was very large and secluded. bathrooms were very well kept and clean. The only problem is the price. I paid $48 for one night on a primitive site with no water or electric. Price was $38 which I thought was high Nd then $10 was added for having four people instead of two. Never heard of a campground being per person. I could have stayed at the comfort inn for an extra $30 and would not have to sleep on the ground and walk to the nearest bathroom! read more

Writing this review a little on the late side I stayed at the campground with my friend his sister and my fiancé the weekend of Fourth of July the owners were very nice. very home feeling campsite and campground.very clean and no problems whatsoever was very understanding and could not have been a nicer person to be around I will definitely be returning to the campsite and the campgrounds in the future she had bingo witch was a lot of fun many activities and we rarely left every year we take an annual 4th of July trip and definitely will be back for next 4th read more
