We are tent campers and went here during phase 2 of Covid. Luckily our tent sites were very close to the bathroom and showers because there is only 1 on site. The staff was friendly and since we have kids were were happy they enforced quiet hours of 10pm. The bathroom was clean and new, however you have to hold the chain to get water. If you do not hold the chain, there is no water so you stand there freezing while you shampoo your hair. We were able to see wildlife and even went fishing. Luckily the pool and playgrounds were open. There is 2 different playgrounds which is exciting for toddlers. They also have a place you can mine for gems, which the kids enjoyed. Unfortunately, due to COvid,some activities were closed, but it seems like there is tons of stuff normally. It does seem to be primarily RVs but that's not a problem for us. We will likely go back next year. read more

Attention campers from Texas (and many other states!) - Do not make a reservation here unless you are willing to be confined to your camp site for 14 days. That includes using the restrooms or taking your dog to the dog park. This confinement policy is nowhere on their site and we didn't find out until we read the fine print of the deposit confirmation. You know - AFTER we had paid the $350 deposit for 3 week stay! As soon as we realized we couldn't take our dog to the dog park, we immediately called to cancel the reservation, only a day and a half after we made it. We were planning to leave Texas on the 1st, arrive there on the 3rd and stay until the 24th. It's not fair to the dog to keep him chained up and on leash for two weeks, and the dog park was one of the reasons we chose the place. I called to explain the situation and they did cancel the reservation, but then refused to refund the deposit, because "We've held that site for you". For a day?! And when I tried to explain that had their policy been anywhere on the site we wouldn't have made the reservation in the first place, I was met with attitude, rudeness and then the lady hung up on me! I would have even been happy with a half refund. And I don't even have a problem with the policy! Just tell me before hand so that I know this is something I can't do! This is essentially a bait-and-switch: I paid for something I'm not allowed to use I'm disappointed because we were really looking forward to the trip and the campsite looked great. Before I made the call to their office, I was even planning to go there at some point in the future. But now, between their business practices and flat out rudeness, that's not going to happen. I'm attaching 2 pictures - one is the reservation confirmation with NO mention of the policy and the other is the deposit receipt with first mention of the quarantine policy in fine print at the very bottom of a long email. This was our first time here and we loved it. We normally go to KOA but this is like a different world. The people here are much friendlier and we were allowed to bring our dog into the camp store! Win for Coral the campsites are spaced nicely enough that you don't feel cramped but close enough to be comfortable. The owner we met in the store was extremely pleasant and friendly - that's a super plus. They had a wine tasting the one night which was pretty cool. We liked the one wine so much we bought a bottle to take back to our site. We had an issue with the water pressure during our stay but no big deal since we can shower using the RV tank. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice campground. read more

The family and staff who own and operate the campground are truly nice, friendly, and courteous people and care about their guests. The campground is well maintained. Disclaimer: This review is written by a TENT CAMPER. Not an RV, not a pop-up, no cabin rental, I have a tent. I don't have anything against those other things, but this review is based on my experience on this campground with a TENT. I have been to a variety of campgrounds as a tent camper. I would also like to add: I am not a princess, and I know that when I go camping things are meant to be a little rough, and that is partly the point, so I am not complaining, but I am stating my opinions on this particular camping experience. My main drawbacks are: 1) The ground is entirely made of gravel. No grass, no areas of just dirt, just big gravel rocks. This may be fine and dandy for leveling your camper, but if you're sleeping on or near the ground, it's pretty unpleasant and your knees will get tired of it fast. 2) The bathrooms are nowhere near the tent sites! The main bathrooms are literally surrounded by campers and cabins - which have their own private bathrooms! There is one bathroom area which has 3 showers for each gender and a few stalls for each, and there are also single bathrooms by the front recreation/store. Just one bathroom nearer to the tent sites would have made a lot more sense. One does not realize how many times she has to use the bathroom in the middle of the night until she is nowhere near one. Also, the tent sites are so close together with loud gravel, it's very difficult to be discreet in the middle of the night behind a tree. A compliment to the campground is that the bathrooms were definitely always kept clean and maintained well. Although it seemed like there wouldn't be enough showers, the shower situation was fine. 3) The signage is poor. It's difficult to know which sites are where because there is not a sign on the corner of each turn. This makes it very difficult to walk back to the tent sites in the dark of night when you can't see! We only got "lost" once, though. I personally would not return to this campground with a tent. I do admit I see a rise in popularity of campers, rv's, pop-ups, and cabin camping, but I love my tent when it is at the right campground! Overall, the campground itself was just fine. Similar to many others with plenty of things to do for families. Games to play and things to do. Friendly staff. The price is fair and reasonable. Aside from the tent sites behind adjacent to a public road with just a small fence to separate the campground and cars passing by, the location is very nice with plenty to see and do in the area. read more

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Vista in late June into early July 2014. The location is great and in close proximity to the attractions/recreational areas around the Delaware Water Gap. The campground was not noisy at all when we were there, and the heavily wooded, peaceful setting was just what we were looking for. The staff was very friendly, and the activities for kids were great! The pool and playground were very nice too. The only negatives about it were that they only take cash, and our campsite was extremely tight to maneuver our travel trailer into (the site next to ours looked great & much easier, and we should have asked to switch to that one). Also, they could use a few more bathroom/shower facilities. Again, we enjoyed our stay there very much, and if we went back to the Poconos, we would more than likely stay there again. read more

Rented a cabin, which was nice enough, but on the expensive side and could have been cleaner. (I definitely followed the Girl Scout rule of leaving the place cleaner than I found it.) Would not recommend it for tent camping at all. They really need to join this century and accept credit cards and update their online reservation system. They do keep the grounds cleaned up - to the extent it's hard to even find twigs to help get the firewood you buy from them going. Still, staff was friendly and helpful in guiding us to nearby activities. read more

This is not a place for tent or cabin camping, even if you are a family. It is mostly filled with RVs. The campground is small and the campsites are very close to one another. As we arrived, we didn't get the greatest vibes from the front desk which seemed strict with a long list of rules. Although throughout the weekend, we were greeted with some friendly staff. While we were there, the bathrooms were not very clean (showers or stalls). There don't seem to be enough bathrooms for the camp either. On the actual campground, there isn't much to do. There is a pool which is good for children, some areas for sports, and some games. Our family played some games in the reception area, but they were not very updated. The corn hole was actually falling apart which made it difficult to play. We ended up spending the day off the campsite in surrounding areas. Personally, this isn't the environment that I enjoy camping in. I'd only recommend if you have an RV (maybe). I suggest finding a different site in the area. read more

We have been going to this campsite for a few years. We always book at the end of our stay for the following. Last year was no different. This year we get there all paid up in advance got our car tags and map. There was a little confusion with my friends sites (1 cabin and 1 tent site) but we though we had it all straightened out and we went into the sites to set up. As we were unpacking the woman we knew drove by on her golf cart, and she asked us about the confusion since she was not in the main house at the time it was Mary. I explained it all to her and I thought we were good. Am hour later another guy shows up at our site and says we have two tents. Again I explain yes 2 tents 4 people. One family, husband, wife and 2 adult children. He then says that we need to go see Mary again. OK so we go BACK up there and talk to Mary. Apparently there was another charge I never paid and was never mentioned when we were down there just 2 hours ago and I had to pay another 100.00??? We never had this issue before in all the years we have been coming here. OK so now we are at almost 250.00 for 3 nights. I kept my mouth shut because the weekend just started and and did not want to get so frustrated that we had to leave. Then my friend shows up she had 1 tent site and 1 cabin. A total of 6 adults. She got charged almost 700.00!!!! WTF?? This is camping not the waldorf. She did the same thing I did shut her mouth and carried on. This "woman" Mary had an attitude with my friend also as soon as she walked in the door. Mary needs to tone it down a bit, not sure what her issue is but she just lost 2 family's that camped every year. I feel sorry for the older couple who own this place. They have a nice setup but a bitch of a front end employee who has no problem overcharging and chasing away regular customers. read more

Oh boy this is going to be a long one... I decided to come here for a weekend with my family and after the first night we realized we made a horrendous decision. First off, there is no privacy.. A bunch of old, white RV owners stared at us from their RVs like they never saw people camping with tents, (now granted there were only about 4 tents in this trailer-park, including us). The lots are so close together that when I went into my tent to sleep I could here my neighbor whispering to her son from their tent. Second, the campground management are just idiots. The sell wood that doesn't even burn, and when we complained along with our neighbors they had the nerve to say "our wood burns just fine, no one complains" yea my a*s. They did agree to refund us for any of the bundles we didn't attempt to burn and said they would come to our area and refund us, for 2 days they never even came by with the money yet they drove by us constantly. These pushovers didn't even enforce any rules.. We were directly next to their dog park crap, (which closes at 6pm) and there were people coming with their loud, obnoxious dogs well past 1am.. Hell, I even had to listen to these rednecks blare country music throughout the campground until about 2 am. My last of many other complaints is, the fact that this ISN'T a campground. It is a large trailer-park, that is fully catered to these residents. You can tell it's not meant for camping, the lot to sleep on is completely gravel, there are no trees around the lots, THE BATHROOMS ARE 15 MINUTES AWAY... I almost sh*t my pants one morning and had to limp into my car and drive to the bathroom on the other side of this place just to save my dignity and clean underwear.. I have so much more to complain about, that would just become excessive... I will never return here. I will pray for anyone who actually enjoys camping at this lame trailer-park, lol. read more

Stayed here at a tent site for two days/nights in late June. This is a heavily wooded, mountain camp site with hills and a lot of RVs and trailers. Not really suited to the tent camper. Quiet hours were non-existent with cars rolling in and out of the campground all the time, and dogs barking and howling. I guess all the RVs and Trailers don't mind because they're INSIDE. The bathroom facilities in the middle of the campground are just OK in terms of quality and cleanliness. The men's and women's room both had a screen door which SLAMMED every time someone went in and out...i heard it all night while i was trying to sleep. There was no sink/kitchen area anywhere to wash pots and pans. On the plus side, the pool was great and there are plenty of other activities including tennis court, basketball court, ping pong, pool table, etc... Bring your own firewood. The crap they sell is WET and nearly un-burnable. Bring CASH. No credit cards. Weird. I'll stay somewhere else next time in the Poconos. read more

We decided to try mountain vista over our usual KOA campgrounds due to the less expensive deluxe cabin rates. We stayed at the 25 ft deluxe cabin which came with a stove top, sink, small fridge, bathroom with stand up shower. For the most part the cabin was fine but it can definitely use some updating. The stove top was icky and the screened porch area needed a cleaning. Lots of cobwebs including dead insects caught in them. The location of the cabin was perfect for my family. It was steps away from the activities and store. The small store opens around 9 and closes at 7. Wished the hours were longer! Felt pressured to make it to the store early to get firewood etc. The employees were super friendly and professional. Better in person than on the phone I must say. I didn't feel any racial bias unlike the previous reviewer. One lady employee asked us if we were going on the river and she said I can get u a coupon with Adventure Sports. So sweet of her to let us know! Also I mentioned to her that I was going to bushkill falls and she told me about the prepaid discounted tickets she sold at the store. She saved me a lot of money when i think about it. I thought the other campers were friendly and mostly kept to themselves. The catch and release fishing pond was very popular in the early evening amongst the campers. It was a nightly routine for my husband and kids. The pool was small but not busy at all. Saw a sign that It's supposed to get renovated next year. There was a nearby supermarket called Weis and that was super convenient. Got all of our food there and fresh produce. Beware campers. My husband took our little 15 lb dog for a walk at this campground and brushed into a bush along side our truck. He was ripped open by large thorns. I went to the office to let them know there were thorns between two campsites and later the owner/manager came over to our site and was very arrogant. She said the thorns were part of privacy between the site. Really??? Thorns???? She never cared at all that my husband was injured and kept saying there was plenty of room to get around our site and truck. The thorns were right again our truck and my husband couldn't see them. We cut them down a little to get them away from our truck and by the time she came she said there was lots of room. Her arrogance was truly irritating and yeah, there was room after we cut our selves even more getting rid of them. This campground is hilly, rocky and dark and if you have a problem, beware of the manager. Her attitude will NOT be on your side even though you paid a pretty penny to stay there. I believe she thinks all campers are idiots and accept the fact that a dead thorn bush provided privacy at 3 1/2' tall. read more

I really enjoyed my stay. The kids loved it. They have plenty of activities especially on Saturday for the kids. Music, games, treasure hunt, fire truck ride and then goody bags, tennis court, vollyball court, play ground, pool. A fun place. The cabins can use some cleaning every so often. Also bring your own wood. The wood there looks dry but it's not. We bought and couldn't make the fire last 1 minute :( They have it in area where gates protect it but nothing to protect it from the rain. I don't understand why. Favorite camping ground that is close to home. I love only about two hours away yet it feels a lot further when you're there camping, the staff are so nice and helpful nothing is too much to ask from them, they don't stalk your camping area they'll drop off bundles of fire wood or ice to your site, they drive around at night willing to help you with anything you ask for, the site is kept really clean and pristine there are showers and bathrooms along with a laundry cabin which is nice and it also has wifi which is pretty nice read more

My wife and I stayed here in October. We rented the loft cabin. We loved it. The cabin was clean, had a stove top and fridge, a screened in porch, and overall was very nice. The campground itself is mostly RVs. Very few tents. While the loft was nice, the ceiling were low, so it made it difficult to make the bed, or to get out of bed. There is a pool table and some arcade games in the main lodge. We stayed when it was cooler so the pool was closed. There wasn't much to do, I was hoping for some hiking trails. But all in all, this is a very good place. And we will be returning! read more

The two women on staff/owner are very rude. If you tell them there is a problem, they get very offensive and will not resolve the issue. The bathrooms by the main pavilion were absolutely disgusting (both men and women). There was dog poop in between the main pavilion and the pool/playground that was never picked up the entire time of our visit. The pool is nice but the pool area needs to be swept every night. There are a lot of small rocks throughout the pool area. There was also a plastic dental flosser on the ground (in the pool area) from the day that we checked in to the day we checked out. This is proof that they do not sweep this area. We went two years ago and had such a great time, but this place has definitely going downhill. I would suggest finding another campground and skipping this one. read more

We stayed for 3 days in Aug 2020 - during the COVID19 Pandemic. We wanted to do a road trip since our planned family vacation had to be cancelled. We had looked for a place that we could stay in a private cabin so that we can sanitize it first before bringing in our things. We stumbled upon Mountain Vista while searching online and we could not be happier with our choice. When we arrived the staff appeared to be following all of the appropriate protocols (masks, distancing, partitions in the store/office etc.), and were very helpful upon our arrival. The store in the front of the campground has all the general camping needs such as charcoal, wood for the fire pit, utensils, all the basics in case you forgot something at home, and even some groceries. For those with campers they carry some basic parts such as waste valves, hoses, silicon sealant, etc. We only stayed for 3 days, but had such a great time we decided to book another 4 days later this month. We stayed in a 30ft deluxe cabin, which had a cook top range, sink, fridge, table with benches, bunk bed with queen on the bottom and twin on the top in a back bedroom, and a queen size futon in the main room. The bathroom was sufficient for the need as well. The cabin appeared very clean (although it was also a bit newer than some of the other cabins from what I was able to tell). Due to COVID, there were many activities that the staff had planned but they had to cancel, however they did have the pool, tennis courts, basketball, shuffleboard, giant floor checkers, giant connect-four, giant jenga, outdoor fitness area, volleyball, disc golf, and fishing pond open for use as long as social distancing between families and mask wearing were followed. It appeared that most people were complying. The pool was clean, however due to COVID no chairs were provided, but that was not a problem as we just brought our own folding camping chairs to the pool with us. The site did host one event which was wine-tasting, where they brought in a local winery to provide samples for tasting. Social distancing rules were followed and it worked out great. Outside of the camp ground there was plenty to do as it is close to Bushkill Falls, Paws & Claws Zoo, and other places that were open and following proper guidelines as well. We spent our evenings cooking on the charcoal grill (provided at each cabin) and sitting around our fire pit (also provided at each cabin). read more

This is a very hard review to write as I am truly heart broken. This was mine and my kids favorite campground. We would attend each year for the past 3 years. This would have been our 4th. I love the staff and the activities. This year we booked our camp site the same as always, for pirates weekend. But this summer was proven to be a rough one and we had to call and cancel due to my grandfather passing away. Now the campground was very accommodating and let us move our deposit to another weekend which I was very great full for. After looking over our schedule we decided on Labor Day weekend. Last vacation before school and maybe relax for our rough summer this far. So I came home packed the truck and jeep And we headed off on our last hurrah of the summer. We arrived and checked in. Not to the campsite we had requested as usual, but whatever I am here to relax. We drove up to the site what was a little small but again it is what it is. As we looked for the best place to set up for the night you couldn't get past the strong smell of sewage. So we walked down and spoke to the lady at the desk. She offered us a smaller campsite but with 2 adults and 5 kids we wouldn't of fit. So back the sewage site hopping it would get better. As we started to unpack the smell got stronger. So I walked down and asked to talk to the owner. He got on the phone and informed me he had no other spot to move me to. He told me that he gave us a discount on the site and he moved our deposit which the normally don't do. I thanked him and let him know I never asked for special service. I have enjoyed his campground over the years and it's about the memories with my children not the money. He offered me a full refund which I took and again told him how disappointed I am on the way they treated repeat customers. I also told him he probably wouldn't stay in a tent on a site with his kids that smelled of sewage. I will never return or recommend them again. The return on my money was a nice gesture but it's not about the money, now I have a ruined weekend with my kids that they were looking forward to. This just added to the pain of a already rough summer. read more

The campground was so well maintained, the staff was so helpful and there were tons of activities for the kids. My kids said it was their favorite weekend of the summer. Let me start out by saying I don't know what is wrong with all the people that wrote the not so nice reviews. The place is amazing. It's what a campground should be. It's all wooded very spacious sites so your not on top of your neighbors and there are trees in between all the sites. Everyone was very friendly courteous and helpful. We were there for the weekend of the wine tasting and grape stomping which was a lot of fun. If you have children there is a lot to keep them busy. The campground was quiet, clean and friendly. The owners don't stalk you like some campgrounds. They don't come around unless you want them to. And the wood we purchased was dry under a covered pavilion. Great place to camp if you're a big partier. Husband and I went there this weekend and it was a camping night from #$%^. The quiet hours are not enforced at all. We had 2 sites pull in next to us at 9pm and they set up and partied until 2am. We called the management at 11:30pm and they said they would come by. It had no effect on the groups partying. We left the next morning first thing, we couldn't bear to sleep another 3 hours again (with earplugs none the less). Stopped in the management office and the lady defended the ppl partying saying that "they found it normal for camping". Nice customer service. Agree with Dan J that the wood didn't burn at all. This place can potentially kill your child... I was just their with my family this pass weekend 7/14/2017. Upon arrival we notice that the cabin was dirty, I didn't mind much so I started to clean the place an bring my clothing an food inside. We have two children's one 13 the and a 2yrs old. To my surprise when I go to clean the room I lift the mattress to notice MOUSE DROPPING AN RAT POISON WAS AL OVER THE PLACE. I completely panic about this I told my husband to take the baby outside an I call the main office, they got to the cabin fairly fast to clean the place. I don't understand how can they rent the cabin with RAT POISON all over the place a child don't know the difference between poison an candy. I was very upset about this even when they apologize they didn't offer any accommodation or assistance. I told them that this negligence can takes somebodies life an he just look at me an didn't say ANYTHING. My advise to any parent specially if you have small children's inspect this place before you bring your little one inside or better off STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

7/8/2019_ MY family and I visited this camping site for this 4th of July weekend 2019. It was the most unpleasant say we have ever had. My family and I are Americans from West Indian decent. I hear other people talk about racism but it's the first I have ever endured racism. We were at the game room and I put $4.25 cent in one of their shooting game and the game machine was not working, so we called the attend over to let him know, well he was not happy that we bother him, I lightly touched the game machine to show him which one was not working, and he caught and attitude and told me no need to bang the machine which I was not doing when he left we realize we was not happy with us at all. After that incident the next day they had a tie die tee shirt day for the kids and adults, the instructor keep saying if you need help just raise your hand. Well we were the only dark color people there, she would not even look or walk our way to see if we need help but she was walking around to all the other people and kids there. On our last day and night to spend there, one of the attends came up our group and asked if we have a bibi gun, we answered yes, he said we cannot use it and they will have to take it and hold it until we are leaving, my husband said no problem and we are sorry and you can hold it. Then he left and came back with some else, and they both had attitude and said he was the owner and they are kicking us out and we are trespassing, and we have 15 minutes to leave, the then turned the power off from our cabins. Well at that point we give attitude back ask for a copy of their camping ground rules which they could not produce, they were not happy about. We had to get our kids out of the pool and dress them in the dark and parked up our stuff in the dark. The kids were so scared and emotional it was hard to explain to a 5year old what was going on. They said they were going to call the state troop for us, we told them to go right ahead. We took our time and packed up which took about 3hrs. The state troop never showed, which I wished they did so I can show the trooper, how me and my kids were being treated like animals, we had to get dress and pack up our stuff in the dark in 90 degree weather, kids scared and crying. Very clean, simple campground. Our pull-thru site was completely level and more than adequate for our 35' camper and pick-up. Office staff very friendly. Small, clean pool. Did not use laundry, however the facility was clean and modern. Not a resort campground, but a nice, clean family place located close to major attractions. read more

My wife and I stayed here the weekend of July 26-29. This is a very nice campground. We had a pull thru site that was very large and roomy for our 43' fifth wheel. We read reviews that it was very hilly and yes it is, but you are in the Pocono Mountain area there are going to be hills. The sites are very shaded with lots of trees to help keep it cool. We read review that it was noisy, it was very quite here, we choice staying here than staying at the Pocono Raceway. We had two of our dogs with us, which brings me to the only negative we had the dog park didn't open until 10:00am. They did have dog bag stations placed around the campground for those that run out or forget there poop bags. Great place to stay and would recommend and return again. read more

Please understand that I when I camp, I want to camp. I want to bring my dogs, I want to have a good time, I want to escape my job for a time, and I don't mind sounds of laughter, sounds of dogs, sounds of life. I want to be in a tent, I want neighbors that say hi and invite you over for a grand outdoor grill fest. However, this is not the place for that. This is apparently a place for city dwellers to have absolute silence and rest. They keep to themselves, don't visit the dog park (I only saw one other dog visit the park), live in RVs on the weekend, and have zero tolerance for sounds of life. It seems like they've done a 180 from the reviews a couple of years ago. Neither is right, neither is wrong, it's just different needs. It didn't meet my needs. The stress over the zero tolerance, even during non-quiet hours, caused me to uproot and leave after one night even though I drove 350 miles to be there. I would not subject myself or my dogs to that stress and drove back home the next day. I do have some suggestions. 1) Do not advertise as being pet friendly, family friendly. Most pet owners and families want freedom to make some noise. Be honest and upfront about the zero tolerance noise policy since many people want that and like that. As I said, nothing wrong with it, it just makes it unbearable for those that didn't come there for that. This appears to be a niche that works for you, so advertise for it. 2) Don't freak people out by driving by in your cart at 10:45pm and standing at the bottom of the lot with hands on hips, glaring, and not saying anything. Had his hands been anywhere else, I may have called for help. Seriously freaked us out, particularly since the light was faulty and flickering (yes, there are muted street lights - very odd). 3) I understand people called and complained that my dogs barked at other dogs walking by our lot and it necessitated the owner's visit at 7:30 the next morning. And I understand that she was trying to be pleasant. However, standing there talking to us for 15 minutes was not helpful. It caused considerably more stress and is what set me over my ability to cope with the policies. It would have been more helpful had she come, noted the complaint and left. It would have also caused less stress to the dogs. We had intended to take the dogs away for the day so there would be no issues and no complaints, but it exacerbated it instead and made it impossible to stay - I'm sure to the abject glee of the complainers. 3) My dogs did not bark constantly. They barked when other dogs were walking by our lot. If you want such a lengthy quiet time, perhaps not allowing others to walk their dogs throughout the park during quiet time would be helpful. Oh, and they barked at freaky silent guy - as they should. He scared us. They then began to associate the cart sounds with freaky silent guy. Not a good thing. 4) The guys next to us were sweethearts. A group of young guys there for a bachelor party. Give them a break. Don't keep driving by - they were amazingly quiet and respectful. I was very impressed that a group of young men were celebrating in that way instead of hanging out in a strip club somewhere. Yet, I had the impression, as I hid in my tent so that my dogs would not make a sound, that they were being continually monitored. Very sad. 5) Yes, there were children shrieking at midnight, but guess what, we didn't call - though others apparently did. It was sound of life and would have been fine with us except for the incongruence between the constant monitoring of us and them. It was minor and limited and only because they arrived late. Let them enjoy life too. 5) It may not be a good idea to have the bathrooms located amidst the RVs and cabins and a significant distance from tent campers - those that are likely to be using them. 6) I really don't recommend this campground for tents generally. 7) My home is located in a very similar environment so it was simply to be a camping event for me to get out of the house and away from work. That said, if you don't live in an area like that and you live in the city, this might be a great getaway for you. If that's what you want you should be fine. So, long and short is, if you want absolute silence, this may well be a great place for you to go. The owner was warm and friendly even though she clearly was put in a bad position (and I do understand her needing to cater to her regulars). The restrooms were clean. There were two dumpsters - though I expected to see recycling stations and had separated the trash in anticipation... Not sure why they don't recycle. There were little to no sounds of life even during the daytime hours. People speak in hushed tones or not at all. In 55 years I've never seen anything quite like it. Just came back from a week in the Poconos where we stayed at Mountain Vista Campground. Good location convenient to many local attractions. Campground was very quiet during the week. We had a very spacious site and were greeted by a very friendly staff upon arrival. The staff was very helpful during our stay providing information about the local attractions. The kids enjoyed the pool and the giant connect 4 game. As other reviews have stated the wood they sell is not well seasoned. If you know how to make a fire, and chop a few pieces up to smaller pieces you can get the fire burning hot quickly, and can enjoy a nice fire read more

Camper beware today is June 9, 2020 I made a reservation on May 27, 2020 for a 2 night stay scheduled for June 12th and 13th. Yesterday I woke up sick with a respiratory infection so we decided to cancel the trip especially with COVID-19 being a concern. I call the campground to change the date of my reservation and was informed that they date could not be changed and my deposit would only be refunded if it was canceled 20 days prior or if they rerent the site (I'm not holding my breath). My husband then called to see if he could work anything out with them being this was a health risk they lady was very ignorant said the cancellation policy is on their website however we could not find it anywhere and there's no cancellation policy in the emails either. My husband asked to speak with a manager she refused and was very nasty so my husband had to just hang up. Our next step was to call the bank and we were informed that because it was paid by electric check not debit that there was nothing they could do for us. So now we're out a $94 which is the full cost of the site not the minimal deposit of $80 that's required. So lesson learned alway inquire about a cancellation weather it's a campground or hotel and never pay by electronic check in case an emergency occurs you at least have a better chance of getting your money back. This campground only accepts cash when you check in. This is a very important fact to be aware of, especially since their ATM machine was not working. A terrible first hand shake with the campground. We stayed in the A loop. Don't recommend these spots. They are not level, and there are two seasonal campers, one of which has a huge dog that howls all night till the owner comes home. There were other much nicer spots in the rest of the campground. It's also not well marked and we went higher up into the campground making for a harrowing trip back down because of narrow, steep and unlevel roads up there. Their firewood is wet. Not sure where else you can buy it close by, but they tell you to take from the back right of the pile in the wood shed and it doesn't matter, its all wet. The organized activities were pretty lame. They do have a nice pool, playground and sports area. They also have a nice cornhole set, air hockey and pool table under the pavilion. The volleyball area is across the street and a little too close to the road IMO. The fishing pond is also across the street and down a little way, but it looked nice. We chose this campground because of it's proximity to Poconos Speedway (about 30min). We were traveling with my brother's family who rented a cabin here. There are nicer campgrounds nearby but none that offer cabin rentals that we could find. For the money you spend, there are nicer campgrounds nearby if you don't need to rent a cabin. I will let them write their own review if they so choose. Suffice to say that the cabin was dirty. We went to a local Walmart to buy cleaners so that they could feel comfortable enough to sleep in it with their two kids. The loft cabin is cute, when it is clean. Overall C- to B+ campground at best. We won't be going back. We stayed from Aug. 2-9th 2013. read more

We stayed here over a holiday weekend and mostly had a good experience. The campground is very well kept in general, and people are very friendly and helpful. The bathhouse was not a good experience, however. When I went to the ladies' shower around 1pm, the shower had hairballs in the drain and puddles all over the floor because there's not much drainage. The shower was scalding hot (with no temperature control), and the shower is operated by constantly pulling on a chain. There was no where in the shower stall to put clothes or soap, so you just gotta hope that you don't drop something into the puddle of everyone else's shower water (definitely wear your shower shoes!). Also, there are TONS of huge, beautiful trees, which were a bit of an obstacle for getting our 31ft camper into a back-in space. Probably wouldn't have been an issue for us if there wasn't a mountain of gravel blocking the turn by our site. The location is wonderful for visiting Bushkill Falls, candy store, and some good restaurants. read more

The campground is very nice and very family oriented. In addition to having a nice pool and plenty of games for the kids, they also had live music for the adults on Saturday. The issues I had with this place is more geared towards campers so if you had a tent the lot is covered in stone so if you didn't have cots you wouldn't be sleeping well. Also the lots were very small. For those reasons I doubt I will return. read more

My husband and I stayed at Mountain Vista 2 times recently. The very first time we slept in a tent, and the second time we rented a cabin, cause it rained. The campground is clean, neat, has lots of stuff to do, like pool, tennis court and even the activities center for the kids. It has showers, which I was particularly happy about.
