We are seasonal campers at Mountain vista for three years now. We absolutely LOVE this campground! The family and staff who own and operate the campground are truly nice, friendly, and courteous people and care about their guests. The campground is well maintained. There is a lot going on for both kids and adults and you will have a wonderful time if you visit. We plan on staying next year as well and you owe it to yourself and your family to give this place a try. Bob& Deb/ A36

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Vista in late June into early July 2014. The location is great and in close proximity to the attractions/recreational areas around the Delaware Water Gap. The campground was not noisy at all when we were there, and the heavily wooded, peaceful setting was just what we were looking for. The staff was very friendly, and the activities for kids were great! The pool and playground were very nice too. The only negatives about it were that they only take cash, and our campsite was extremely tight to maneuver our travel trailer into (the site next to ours looked great & much easier, and we should have asked to switch to that one). Also, they could use a few more bathroom/shower facilities. Again, we enjoyed our stay there very much, and if we went back to the Poconos, we would more than likely stay there again.

We decided to try mountain vista over our usual KOA campgrounds due to the less expensive deluxe cabin rates. We stayed at the 25 ft deluxe cabin which came with a stove top, sink, small fridge, bathroom with stand up shower. For the most part the cabin was fine but it can definitely use some updating. The stove top was icky and the screened porch area needed a cleaning. Lots of cobwebs including dead insects caught in them. The location of the cabin was perfect for my family. It was steps away from the activities and store. The small store opens around 9 and closes at 7. Wished the hours were longer! Felt pressured to make it to the store early to get firewood etc. The employees were super friendly and professional. Better in person than on the phone I must say. I didn't feel any racial bias unlike the previous reviewer. One lady employee asked us if we were going on the river and she said I can get u a coupon with Adventure Sports. So sweet of her to let us know! Also I mentioned to her that I was going to bushkill falls and she told me about the prepaid discounted tickets she sold at the store. She saved me a lot of money when i think about it. I thought the other campers were friendly and mostly kept to themselves. The catch and release fishing pond was very popular in the early evening amongst the campers. It was a nightly routine for my husband and kids. The pool was small but not busy at all. Saw a sign that It's supposed to get renovated next year. There was a nearby supermarket called Weis and that was super convenient. Got all of our food there and fresh produce. It was a great time!

I really enjoyed my stay. The kids loved it. They have plenty of activities especially on Saturday for the kids. Music, games, treasure hunt, fire truck ride and then goody bags, tennis court, vollyball court, play ground, pool. A fun place. The cabins can use some cleaning every so often. Also bring your own wood. The wood there looks dry but it's not. We bought and couldn't make the fire last 1 minute :( They have it in area where gates protect it but nothing to protect it from the rain. I don't understand why. The staff are friendly, kind and informative. I do look forward to go back. This place is cash only.

Favorite camping ground that is close to home. I love only about two hours away yet it feels a lot further when you're there camping, the staff are so nice and helpful nothing is too much to ask from them, they don't stalk your camping area they'll drop off bundles of fire wood or ice to your site, they drive around at night willing to help you with anything you ask for, the site is kept really clean and pristine there are showers and bathrooms along with a laundry cabin which is nice and it also has wifi which is pretty nice

The roads have pot holes all over them, everything is extremely outdated. The pool is usually green with algae. The bathrooms are disgusting. The children's park is extremely outdated, enjoy camping on rocks, and hills. My family did not sue when a tree came through our camper, and destroyed it. Something the campsite is supposed to handle.. yet my family repaired their camper, and continued to stay there. They were there almost every single weekend, no late payments, no issues. They were customers for years. It's pathetic that the owners act like children, and will legitimately ignore you. They act as if their place is a gift to anyone that stays there, and you should be considered lucky if you get to stay there. When in reality you should be considered lucky you did not need a tetanus shot after coming there.

All worked out pretty well. We made reservations for a camp site in advance, arrived late in the evening right after the sunset and were greeted by a friendly staff at the campground. Our ranger showed us all available sites generously offering his tips and taking into account our considerations. There are bathrooms, hot showers, and even laundromat on-site. Perfect location, close to Delaware Water Gap. Definitely coming back.

We camp at the rustic tent sites, and there is plenty of room for 2 cars and 2 tents. Depending on how you want your setup, there are sites that are more secluded and some that are closer so you can maybe plan a group outing and stay at adjoining sites. The staff are all lovely and take the time to explain the rules both in-person at check-in and on the forms they provide. They are not hiding how seriously they take rules like quiet hours, and it will keep campers like me coming back. If you are respectful of the folks around you and especially during the posted quiet hours, you will have no problems. The office and shop keep supply of snacks, gifts, and firewood that burns well. There are flush toilets mapped in spots of the tent sites, and showers available at the same complex as the office. We already can't wait to come back!

The bathrooms and showers are clean and the store sells ice and firewood (no outside firewood allowed). Each tent site has water and electricity, a fire pit (with built in BBQ grill), and a picnic table. There's a play field with 2 Cornhole sets (bags can be borrowed from the store) and a pond for swimming (but no dogs allowed). There's good hiking and access to a river nearby about a short 10 minute drive away. Prices are higher than other spots in the area - tent sites are $55/night for 2 adults plus $17 per adult per night with max of 4 adults per site. If you arrive before 3pm, they'll charge you $6 per person for an early check in (unless it's a busy weekend when you'll have to pay for an extra night at $55). I arrived at 1pm and hoped they'd just waive the fee given that it was a super slow weekend and there were a ton of tent sites available (including mine), but unfortunately the manager insisted that I either pay the additional fees or wait around for 2 hours. The staff were very nice and sweet and were willing to compromise given the absurdity of the rules based on just a 2 hour early arrival, but then unfortunately their manager (elderly guy - based on other reviews I'm gonna guess it was Mr. Taylor) came out and was rude and condescending about the whole thing which was disappointing, particularly since I've been to this campground several times over the years and usually have a really good experience. Other than Gramps McRuderson (aka Mr. Taylor), I had a decent time with my friends here and would consider going back (so long as we don't cross paths with Mr. GrumpyFace on one of his "bad" days lol).
