The management and employees go out of their way to make sure every guest has a great and enjoyable stay. Very kid friendly and their are plenty of events and things for kids to do. The other guest in the RV park welcomed us to their camping family. The current management has made many improvements from what I have seen and heard from other seasonal campers. Everyone from the employees, the management, and the current seasonal guests all have ambitions to make this RV park even better than it already is. Excitement is in the air and I'm proud to be part of the Scotrun RV park family. I would recommend anyone to come check out Thousand Trails Scotrun RV park and will guarantee you will fall in love with this place as my family and I did. See you all soon!

0 stars for housekeeping -- they didn't notice our original shower was broken, they didn't clean…read morethe shower when we requested it when the floor was wet (because the shower curtains are very short). This was by far the laziest housekeeping people we've ever encountered in our lives -- instead of taking the requested dirty towels away and replacing them, they left everything on the ground and just dumped a pile of towels on the sink. Additionally, they barely made the beds -- the sofa bed was ignored while the main mattress' sheets were all touching the ground. Only the kids bunks got remade properly. We passed other rooms and it looked like they actually made the beds, so we probably got assigned the world's laziest person. Food: buffet food is meh. Restaurant food a step up. Stick with dunkin' for breakfast. Ice cream not bad, soft serve is large portions. Mirror maze was basically all broken. Only 2 things really worked when we went in, by the next day only one worked. Pay dirt (mining gemstones/fossils) was a high value activity for my kids - extra worth when you have the 25% discount. Water park is tiny and cold (there's a few small hot tubs), but has a lazy river; slushies standard ICEE brand, mini golf is sad (only like 7 holes maybe). Kids had a ton of fun at the candlestick bowling -- there's a bunch of game modes to try. Only worth if you get the unlimited. Magiquest was 4-6 hours of running around fun and defeating monsters. Wands and attachments are all upcharges from standard. Mostly can only access up and down with elevators so when one is out of order it takes forever. We didn't experience anything outdoors bc of rain.

Now…read morethat we've got that out of the way, I will say that this is something fun and different to do. Especially when it's freezing outside and you need a way to keep your kids occupied. The hotel is actually smaller and easier to navigate than I had expected. It's only 3 floors, so even though elevators tend to have a wait you can use the stairs to get around which is nice. It's also a short walk from rooms to activities and restaurants. Things I loved - + The cozy lobby with a roaring fireplace and gorgeous Christmas decor + The kids nook in the room that had bunk beds and a tv + The kiddie slide area at the pool + The gift shop which had a lot of great toys, a build a bear and a candy store + That the pool area has a bar. + Fun activities outside of the pool like bowling, arcade, mini golf and the magic quest scavenger hunt + Dunkin' Donuts + A cute dance party for the kids at night in the lobby Things that were meh - + The pool area was so unkempt. Chairs are packed in on top of each other. Staff needs to do a better job of clearing out old towels, life vests and garbage from chairs. It's gross to have to walk by the same old pizza box for hours. Staff can easily do better with this. + I wish they had more activities on a Saturday morning. We saw a schedule that had morning activities on some other days, like a meet and greet with the wolf and yoga. Surprised to see nothing on a Saturday. I also wish the pool opened at 8 instead of 10! + Fireside restaurant. Mediocre food and high prices are definitely not surprising here though. Overall - something fun and different, and definitely worth checking out for a change of scenery. But if you can swing going during a quiet week I'd definitely encourage to avoid crowds.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere that felt both family-friendly and tailored to adults. The water park was a huge hit with our two girls, offering a wide array of slides that catered to all ages. Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. The array of jacuzzis was another bonus, with both family-friendly and 21-and-over options. Overall, our stay at Kalahari Resort Poconos was filled with fun and memorable moments. If you're looking for a place that offers a perfect blend of excitement and comfort, this is the spot!

Awful, too-small-for-the-bed sheets. Thin walls. Cafeteria-level food. Terrible layout where you will constantly be walking LONG stretches. LONG waits for the only two elevators running. Frustrating that they shut down elevators randomly while lines grow of frustrated parents and impatient kids. Lobby is completely mobbed after their rates for the water park goes down in the evening, blocking everything. There are so many bad decisions made here, from the structure to the day to day, but it isn't even worth detailing everything. Don't go here. And a small thing: unfortunately, this Memorial Day weekend has been rainy and foggy Sat & Sun. But this place had dozens of flags out in the rain all day and night. Just another sign of the thoughtlessness of this place.

Awful experience from every point: 1) Check in took forever…read morebecause only 2 employees were working on the check-in. Keep in mind, it is Memorial day weekend and they can predict the volume of people. 2) Waterpark had a pool and the main kids area closed. Not much to do and see there otherwise. Also, the waterpark itself is old and need a lot of job done. You can see how everything is old and rust is everywhere. 3) We got tickets to the Magician show. Noone from the employees in the hotel or phone attendants could clearly communicate where to go. No sighs on where the show is. We missed part of it. I guess to print and distribute the maps to the ticket holders were never an idea that came to the organizers or at least to put it in the wall on the lobby, so people can see. It is called go and figure and good luck. 3) Rooms are ok, but there is no soap or shampoo in the dispensers. Bring your own. 4) This is my first time here. I have been to Kalahari, Great Wolf and Kartride many times and can see how unorganized, poorly maintained this place is. It is just awful. I have never wrote a bad review before, but hope this review can have an influence on someone's else decision on coming here. Please save yourself from ruining your weekend just like i did and learn on my mistake, go somewhere else. I don't understand how this place is still in operating.

(This was a few months ago so the details could be a bit iffy.)…read more This was a very impromptu trip and everything at Edge of the Woods makes doing that easy. Head to the website, book the date & time you want and you're done. www.watergapadventure.com/river-trips A few things worth noting: They offer multiple trip lengths. The standard 4-, 6- and 10-mile trip (Smithfield to Portland) are all booked generically and then when you get there you tell them what you want to do. All pricing is the same which believe me compared to others companies, that's very different - in a good way. They do offer two other longer trips but those require calls to the main office I assume to assess river conditions; your own competency and shuttle availability. The main office in Delaware Water Gap is very easy to find and there was plenty of parking on a quiet post-Labor Day Monday. You check in, you're handed a laminated map, life jacket and given a brief route explanation and then you're off in the van. One problem arose and it was kind of a PIA but it was worked around. Most companies have different types/sizes/models of kayaks and quite often, will ask you what you prefer. Not here. When we left the office, the guy driving didn't say a word to me until we get to Smithfield Beach to unload. He had a few kayaks pre-loaded in the carrier but definitely did not look at them before we left. One of them had a broken foot pedal that he said couldn't be used, another was very much designed for a smaller individual (i.e. if you're taller and/or taller & larger it ain't happening safely) which only left two tandem models. Using a tandem as a single individual is not the end of the world but especially when the seats are still left in the two person configuration (i.e. one front and one back versus the rear one being placed more towards the middle), it's a PIA to maneuver the craft and you are paddling harder to get the job done compared to a single. The scenery along the route was decent. You could see a bit of the Shawnee Resort and Golf Course, an old stone bridge abutment in the middle of the river, under and along 80 and then when you get into the Water Gap itself with the high cliff sides. Very picturesque. Once you go under the old train viaduct in Portland, you give the office a call for the shuttle to meet you at the out point which is at the Portland Pedestrian Bridge. The whole experience was about four hours door to door to cover the ten miles on the water plus the shuttle to & from the pick up and drop off points. Lots of nice scenery, due to the low water level there wasn't much in the way of current except for the area around viaduqt in Portland and even that wasn't bad. I'm not a big fan of the equipment here but I wouldn't let that deter me from coming back in the future for one of their northern longer trips.

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!"
