Granted, it was the client of Remedy that fired me - Remedy should still act like a decent company and pay the remaining wages for the time I would have worked. In fact, that's exactly what their client does for their direct employees. The big problem here is that if you read the Remedy handbook, it states that if you don't leave sufficient notice, your last paycheck will be paid AT MINIMUM WAGE. However, as is all too common, if you give notice, you can be immediately terminated. To add even more fun to the mix, the state of Nebraska does not pay the first week of unemployment when a claim is filed. That means if you do give notice, thinking you'll be paid either by work, severance, or unemployment - you'll probably be fired, not receive severance, and at best will receive one week of unemployment - which doesn't pay much. So, while I did appreciate the staff and the simplicity of the process of working for Remedy, I'm left feeling screwed over and upset about it. If you decide to work here, and not one of the many other temp agencies in Omaha, just be aware that it's probably going to sting your wallet or purse when you leave. If you don't give notice, you get minimum wage. If you do give notice, you can get fired on the spot. Just make sure you don't have rent or bills due.

He walked into this establishment (dressed to the hilt in a suit and tie, I might add) with resumes in hand early this afternoon. A woman briskly walked out and very rudely informed him that he was wasting his time because this company does not accept walk-ins. My husband then told her that if they were above helping him (and making money off of him in the process) then he would walk back out and never consider working with them again. She said, "That's fine, I don't care to do business with you now anyway,". If Robert Half truly DOES have a no walk-ins policy, she could have at least tried to schedule an appointment for him. This was not the first employment agency my husband met with today, but be assured that neither of us will ever do business with people who think they're above their clients.
