After contracting with Menke for a foundation project on May 1, 2018. There was a multitude of…read moredelays, but the project was actually started on October 29, 2019 and basement walls were not poured until December 2, 2018 and basement floor was poured on December 10, 2018. While delays in construction are inevitable, this was very extreme!! Due to the cold weather they decided to delay the pouring of garage floor and porch pad until March 25, 2019. After porch and garage floor were poured they both immediately cracked. The cracking on the garage floor was minimal, so no repairs were requested on that. The cracking on the porch was pretty extensive and the homeowner was unhappy with the product. They requested it to be torn out and replaced. (Homeowner is involved with construction and aware of what a decent job should look like.) After discussing the porch with Menke, they wanted to only attempt a repair. The homeowner and myself were hesitant, but agreed to allow them to try this with the understanding that if we were not satisfied, it would be removed. The repair was attempted and looked absolutely horrible. Menke was immediately contacted and their response was that it was functional and only a cosmetic concern. We did not pay for horrible looking "functional" product. Although this part of the project was very minimal, it is still very important.
