I don't think you will find anything easier to do than donating plasma. You just sit in a chair for 30 minutes, they take your plasma, give you money on a debit card, and you're out the door! There are many medical uses for plasma, so each time you donate you are helping someone. They are very strict about who can and can't donate plasma. There is a long questionnaire, a short physical, and they will test your blood before you are allowed to donate. Each time you come back, they will test your blood to make sure you meet their qualifications. I've been doing this for a month now, and it feels good knowing that your donation is helping someone. Perhaps this is something you should think about!

Then proceeded to lip some other words to another employee about me. Very unacceptable and not professional at all. I called the center because I'm trying to look at new medication options with my doctor. I have an option of a medication that I wanted to see if I could take while donating. When I called I was basically told that I'd have to take it and find out when I come in and get screened. I find this frustrating and absurd. What if the medication costs hundreds of dollars? I have to go spend hundreds of dollars and then go see if it's ok? This medication is ideal but I have options. Do I just do this over and over if I find out that I can't take it while donating? There's no way that there isn't a database of a medications that can or can't be taken during plasma donation that they can check. I'm pretty disappointed that they aren't willing to be more helpful to people that are trying to be loyal and forthcoming. I feel like this approach and making things difficult for donors increases the danger of donors being dishonest to avoid not being able to donate. It's kind of sad. I really like donating but im feeling pretty conflicted about it right now especially because at the center they have a plethora of advertising indicating how much care about and value their donors and this doesn't feel like that.

I've been going to the Hendricks blood center for years, but Labcorp is on my way to work. Let's give them a try. I was first one in the door, so it was quick. Stick me, 3 vials, done! What? You want a urine sample. You told me to fast, which means no coffee! Luckily, the human body is like 65% water, so the wait wasn't too long. Is that too much information? Anyway, the girls were friendly and professional. I'll be coming here from now on.
