Literally sat her down and said now you are going to write a good review on Google for us and you will give us full stars. They lied to get her there. She went to get off suboxone and they never let her stop taking it the entire month. Now a month later she comes home tomorrow and she is on the same dosage she went there with. She told them she didn't want to take it anymore and thet forced her to continue taking it and not once reduce the dosage over the entire month. This is because they are getting paid to keep people on meds. Her roommates were getting high and drunk the whole month she was there. They told her on the phone she was going to detox and then rehab and there was no detox or rehab, just an intensive outpatient program. The clients could leave the house any time they wanted and go to town and get drunk and high. They told her on the phone that there would be multiple family sessions and not once over the entire month did they do a single family session. Her therapist was never available to talk to her. The whole month she was there, there was no furniture in the house and two days ago they were taking new pictures to post online and made her install a bunch of furniture they bought after leaving her in an empty house for a month. If you or someone you love is looking at this place, KEEP LOOKING. This was a waste of a month, they did not help my girlfriend in any way at all, they just got a bunch of insurance money and that was it.

They offer counseling services for many needs and have several independent practitioners here according to the brochure I picked up from the waiting room as well as their website. I have personally been seeing Richard (Rick) Payne and am happy so far. He is easy to talk to and has been quite helpful. I found him through a Catholic psychologist whom I could not see because of my insurance issues. Thankfully, Mr. Payne is able to take patients with insurance through the Healthy Indiana Plan. Prices are also more reasonable than what I have encountered in the past. What makes me most at ease is that he is of the same faith as I am though this is not pastoral care. Another plus in my book is that this is a small building and not a large office complex. There is no receptionist or call center and I can speak with or text my counselor directly. The waiting room is usually serene with none to very few people. The first time I walked in, I was amazed at the cozy and nicely decorated interior. There was calming music on with bird sounds in the background. They also provide a nice selection of magazines and books contrary to what most offices have. It is homey which makes sense since it is a little yellow house with green shutters right on Main Street in the older section of Greenwood that has been converted into a business. It is honestly like no other mental health office I have ever visited before and in a very good way. My only issue is that I wish it were closer to home, but it is quite worth the ride south of the city for excellence. Parking is in the rear, as is the entrance. There aren't a ton of parking spaces so it could become tight if there were several cars here at the same time, but you can park across the street as well if needed. Afternoons seem to be much less busy than evenings as I am sure many people come by after work for their appointments. I am grateful that they do offer evening hours. Again, I am new here, but I am pleased with the care I have received. It far surpasses any services I have had in the past. I only can speak of my counselor in particular on a detailed level, but if you are in need of counseling services, I highly suggest giving them a go. I am sure they would have someone to fit your needs with the variety of expertise that these independent counselors offer.

They have no receptionist and never returned my calls, even after I said that if they are not accepting new patients to please let me know. My friend is sleeping outside and it takes time for me to wake up, sleeping in the woods, get myself together, climb up into my wheelchair, and take a bus, hopefully without paying, she has no money or a buspass. All this only to get turned away. She needs help, she has a heart, she's a person who used to work 8-12 hour shifts, maintain an apartment for herself and her kids, etc. Thankfully they're grown, but they're not in the position to help her. While she was out at the library yesterday looking for resources, someone found her camp and tore it down. Anyone who deals with the homeless knows that homeless women are in danger of being raped, and it's happened a few times already, luckily she's not dead. She has emotional issues. She needs case management, she needs a place to stay, she needs safety, but handicapped accessible. If a place is going to boast of the way they are helping the community, and taking donations, etc., they should not place so much importance on what letter your last name begins with. This could possibly cost a life. They really need more empathy training, from corporate on down.

There is a psychologist on staff for families who need an appointment to work through issues, such as adolescent challenges. They've recently added an online service to allow you to request refills and records or appointments at your convenience.

Let's be honest. Nobody wants to "need" a hospice. It means that you're dealing with end-of-life…read moreissues. In most cases, this will be for yourself or for a loved one. In my case, my father had been admitted to Hendricks Regional Health and was in ICU when we began to realize that serious decisions needed to be made. As his only surviving immediate relative, I was tasked with these decisions while also acknowledging that he was still coherent enough to participate and we'd also previously had discussions pertaining to this. My father wanted to die in his own home. This was a difficult task because hospice requires someone living with the person 24/7 as a sort of primary caregiver. Hospice is a support unless, of course, you actually go into a facility setting. My nephew had been staying with my father, primarily because he needed support himself. However, he'd been keeping a closer eye on my father and was there when he went into a health crisis. The decision was made to try to honor my father's wishes - my nephew would stay in the home and I would provide logistical, financial, and physical support. Despite living about two hours from my father's Putnam County home, we were going to try. Life's Journey came as one of the recommended options from Hendricks. They had a document indicating many of the options. It was clear that the social worker was quite familiar - pretty reasonable since Life's Journey is actually Avon-based. We contacted them - they couldn't come out that night (they usually do) as the intake person was ill, however, we made an appointment and intake came as scheduled. Kudos to Terri for being a strong presence and representative for Life's Journey. We discussed a myriad of issues. Once the decision is made for hospice, it moves quickly. You go from medicating to cure to medicating to comfort. The hospital really becomes irrelevant as major interventions are no longer appropriate. My father was discharged by home with ambulance transport. That same day, a nurse visited the home for a long (about three hours) appointment. I believe her name was Becky - she was amazing with my nephew, a 24-year-old with little caregiving history. He really took to it. We didn't know what to expect. Some said he may not make it to my scheduled appointment with a lawyer a little over a month later. Some said 3-6 months. Hospice starts off with typically 2 nursing and 2 health aide appointments weekly along with chaplaincy support as needed. It increases as one's health declines. Life's Journey offers home hospice, facility-based hospice (in Avon), and palliative care. In some ways, doing a Yelp review is weird. It's hard being "happy" or "unhappy" with care. Generally, I was pleased. Little things bothered me - an aide who no called/no showed twice, a chaplain who never visited despite having been requested to do so, and a last conversation that, if as reported, bugs me. My father ended up passing in a little over two weeks. The nurses were for the most part amazing, the health aide fine when she showed up, and I appreciated that the bereavement director visited my nephew after my father's death (upon my request). We received a lovely gift, a lantern representing light, after my father's death (it went to the funeral home - ironically, arriving late. Somewhat humorously, the batteries died in three days - I started calling them hospice batteries). When my father started his serious decline, Life's Journey responded quickly. A nurse was in the house within a couple hours and agreed that he was declining. They increased his visits, however, it would only be 48 hours later and he would pass. This was a good experience that fell a bit shy of what I'd hoped. For the most part, I'm very grateful as it allowed my father the dignity of death in his home while staying comfortable and being supported. Little touches could have improved the process greatly, however, this was a good experience at one of the hardest times of my life. I would be more inclined to recommend for those in the Hendricks County area - I'm a little less inclined for those in surrounding counties and especially the rural ones as I think that impacted presence. Overall, I'm pleased and grateful. With a few tweaks, this could have been an exemplary experience.

My care manager connected me with stable housing, medication prescribers , and therpaeutic services for my entire family. My care manager provided creative solutions tailored to meet my specific needs. I highly recommend Hamilton Center for those in need of mental health or life skills services.

Having had a recent leg injury that led me into several sessions of wound care and physical…read moretherapy, I knew that it was time for me to take seriously my need to locate another primary care physician. After a false start visit with an IU Health physician I was referred to by the clinic, I decided that this was the perfect opportunity for me to explore my curiosity with Franciscan Health. I've always heard positive things about Franciscan Health and as someone with a ministry background, though not Catholic, I thought this type of setting might be a healing environment for me and my hope was to find a physician with whom I could build a trusting relationship so that I could avoid my usual avoidance of healthcare. Dr. Willfond is actually employed by the Franciscan Health organization and only recently joined the Cityway practice. Prior to this, I believe she was in a practice near County Line Road on the Marion/Johnson County border. As a sexual assault survivor, I will admit that whenever possible I try to use female providers, though it's certainly not always possible. For primary care, however, it was certainly my hope to find someone either close to my home or close to my work. The Cityway offices are right next to the Irsay YMCA just south of downtown. I work a little over a mile away. The building houses several Franciscan clinics including a lab, sports medicine, massage, radiology and others. The primary care offices are on the first floor. I'd considered one other Franciscan physician, but I got immediately turned off when the first words out of their mouths was "the doctor doesn't prescribe pain medication." Fortunately, I didn't have that experience with Dr. Willfond's office and that's definitely the last thing on my mind. While she's relatively new to this location, she did bring some patients with her and she did have about a 5-week wait for an initial appointment. As I had some urgency due to the leg injury, I definitely attempted to get in more quickly and actually was contacted and was able to get in 11 days earlier than my original appointment after a cancellation. I was impressed that they not only took note of my need, but they did the follow-up. The building does have paid parking, which is validated, but if you have mobility issues while driving you should know that you'll have to grab your parking ticket on the way in and you'll have to insert your ticket and validation on the way out. However, I found it worked seamlessly. There's several accessible parking spots up front and they are ADA compliant. The entryway includes automatic doors as this is a relatively new complex. As you enter the clearly marked clinic entrance, the reception desk is on the right and there's a couple small waiting areas. I was impressed with the intake call and they also called and did pre-registration that saved me, as a slightly spastic paraplegic, from having to write on those small forms the day of the appointment. I received a short video to watch prior to my appointment that basically explained what to expect and how to be prepared. I was taken to my room on time, or at least within five minutes of on time. The room was a bit small and not quite what I'd prefer to see in terms of wheelchair access. If I'd needed to get on the table, that would have been challenging, but it seemed both the nurse and Dr. Willfond adapted well. The rooms are bright and cheery, only minimally decorated and, of course, they have the Franciscan identifiers (a cross) above the door of each room. I don't know if Dr. Willfond had read my record in advance, but she was clearly informed and that gave both of us a good place to start from. As I specifically mentioned my leg concerns, I was impressed that she assertively wanted to see the leg as wrapped by my physical therapist. While the office isn't as well equipped with wrapping supplies, she made sure to re-wrap it and offered understandable clinical opinions and recommendations. Dr. Willfond listened thoroughly and even offered me sort of a "last chance" mention any other concerns. While primary care visits are always tight, I never felt rushed. In fact, handling the wrap was more involved than she expected but she followed through and addressed my concerns. It is my hope that she'll grow into a "safe" place for me to be authentic about my health and my disability while allowing someone to watch for health and skin issues. She was intelligent, informed, kind and felt safe but not in an artificial way. The nurse, as well, was absolutely top notch. If you need labs done, they have a walk-in lab on the second floor. This appointment was exactly what I'd hoped for and I was relieved that Dr. Willfond agreed to be my primary care physician.
