I'm very impressed with this venue! Hendricks Live is a Plainfield gem. It's big and new enough to feel spacious, but small enough to feel intimate and friendly. I visited Hendricks Live to see a children's play. I should say, the venue is officially called Hendricks Live! With an exclamation mark. As a rule, my fingers will not let me type any word or phrase containing extraneous punctuation. So, henceforth, I will be writing Hendricks Live without an exclamation. I really like that they let you eat inside the theatre. I mean, I didn't eat in there, but I like that they give you the option. They have a concession stand with things like frosted cookies, popcorn, candy, wine, beer and soft drinks. The seats have cup holders. The theatre seems relatively new and well-taken-care-of. The seats were comfy, and even though my son, who is on the shorter side, sat in back of two adults, he could still see the stage. The people who scanned our digital tickets and showed us to our seats were very friendly. The whole experience was pleasant, and we had a nice time at the theatre. read more

My husband and I attended the Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty show this past Saturday. Hendricks Live was easy to locate and they have a big parking structure directly across the street that offers free parking. We were already impressed! Everyone was dressed up and excited for the show. Many of the little girls in attendance appeared to be wearing their Easter dresses. It was really fun to see. The door attendants that were checking our tickets were eager to help and pointed out the entrance doors and restrooms upon our arrival. Concessions were open and running smoothly. The gentleman that assisted us was kind, upbeat and helpful. When I asked about their cider offerings, he happily bounced over to the fridge and grabbed the two that they had and gave me his personal recommendation. My husband asked about the butteriness (a word I made up, apparently) of the popcorn, and he was honest with his feedback. In addition to the cider and popcorn, they also had a nice selection of beer, wine and spirits as well as candy. The volunteers were stationed outside of the theater entrances until 6pm, when the doors opened. One of the gentlemen had his picture up in the lobby as "Volunteer of the Year". I felt honored to be in his presence! There isn't a bad seat in the entire theater. If you attend a show here, I wouldn't worry too much about where you sit. The volunteers were actively walking around and offering booster seats to the children. I thought that was pretty awesome. The show itself was very community theater-esque. It was cute and whimsical and made for a fun night out, but the set design and story delivery were very amateur. For what we paid, it was a decent value. I will read more closely when booking in the future. Reading is fundamental folks, and the listing on Fever stated that the show consisted of 6 local dancers. There just wasn't enough going on to maintain my interest, but that is definitely a personal issue. My husband really enjoyed the show and athleticism displayed by the dancers. Maleficent was my favorite dancer. Her moves were, quite literally, on point! read more

Newly opened performing arts venue with fresh clean atmosphere. We sat in the orchestra pit section and I was impressed with the nice acoustics. Seats are comfortable and staff were very friendly. Unique modern looking balcony and overhang. Bar available. Free parking garage across the street. The Green Room Cafe, a coffee and cocktail lounge is next to the center and is convenient for pre and post performances. read more

We came to see a live funk band here. So many pluses at this newer venue! As others have mentioned, there's ample free parking in the garage off Center St. (entrance next to Tlachos). There's also a free surface white rock parking lot west of the venue. HL appears small but is thoughtfully designed. Doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the place as a result. We were in the upper balcony but had a great view looking down at the band who sounded great, as well. (We've seen this act many times in the past so I'd like to think we have a discriminating ear!) My friend got a group of us tickets, and she was pleasantly surprised that they offer a military discount. Bonus that they are also not a Ticketmaster-affiliated venue and don't add a ton of extra fees to the ticket prices. When we were leaving, a very nice attendant named Diane told us the venue has 600 seats, and the pit seats can be removed for certain shows. We didn't purchase any food or drinks this visit, so can't comment on that aspect. But the nice seating plan, easy access, and reasonable ticket prices will encourage us to return again soon! read more

This is a truly lovely new venue in a nice part of a terrific suburb of Indianapolis. It seats just over 600 people and features a very friendly and attentive staff. I'm pretty confident there's not a bad seat in the house. I will definitely be on the lookout for excuses to return here. read more

Awesome place!! Free parking!!! Convenient location, popcorn or beer available for purchase. Sat 4th row, loved how they go up so u can see over the people in front of you. Great sound quality and the acoustics were phenomenal for a rock concert!!! Lots of shows available, check their schedules and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!! I was privileged to appear in a production of Deathtrap over the past two weeks and it was amazing. Everything from the staff to the immaculate dressing rooms and green room, it was everything a theater should have. We had great audiences despite the lack of any real writeups or reviews. Apparently, Hendricks County doesn't have the same pull as Hamilton County. But word of mouth served us well and some people came back twice because they had such a good time. That is both to the show and its actors and the venue. So congrats all around. Perhaps in future, reviewers will turn their attention a bit more to the west! read more

I attended a cooperate event here. This is a gorgeous a clean facility. Parking is free in the garage across the street. The HL team that assisted us was great. There are a couple little stores nearby but I didn't have a chance to check them out. Hendricks Live! Is in the Town Hall. Town Hall is shown on the outside of the building with smaller signs advertising Hendricks Live. It's my understanding that ours was the first event this venue held and they did a great job! I can't speak to the cost/value due to not being involved in that aspect of the event. read more

We've been looking forward to attending a show at this new performing arts center. It's a gorgeous building located in downtown Plainfield - a revitalized section of Main Street. We are frequent diners at The Prewitt across the street and realized there were still tickets to a show starting in one hour. We purchased tickets, enjoyed our dinner, and walked across the street. The building is gorgeous, especially at night. The ushers were knowledgeable and happy to help. The lighting and acoustics were fantastic. We had a such a great time that we purchased tickets to a future show while we were there. There are light concession offerings included bottled water, wine, and canned beer. They also had light snacks like popcorn and spiced nuts (from The Prewitt). The only thing I wish I knew before attending the show - the seating. The map and seat numbers are confusing! We purchased front row seats on an "aisle" according to the map and the aisle was a wall. It was uncomfortable, so we quickly went to the box office and switched our seats (they were so gracious!). The seat numbers are also divided by odds and evens - we saw three different parties separated because they thought they purchased a "row" (I.e.: seats 7, 8, 9, 10) and those seats aren't together. I highly recommend updating the map so no one is disappointed. It's so exciting having an upscale theater minutes from home - what a fantastic addition west of the city! read more

Hendricks Live is a new performing arts center in Plainfield Indiana. This theater was really hidden in plain sight. I have driven past it in Plainfield several times and did not even pay attention. However when a client told me about this performing arts center right in Plainfield I just had to look it up! The center itself is right on Main Street, however there was a free parking garage on center street. It was very easy to purchase tickets from their website. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by staff to direct us and scan our tickets. Everyone was so helpful. We arrived 20 minutes before show and barely found 2 seats on the bottom floor. It seemed like everyone was just as excited as we were to see such a high quality performance in Plainfield! The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra did an amazing job. They had a variety of music including 2 opera songs! My friend started tearing up because she never thought she would have the opportunity to see such high quality performances again as it has become too difficult and costly for her to travel to downtown Indianapolis. I see us attending many more performances here! read more

Last week we went to see the Morgan James concert. Unfortunately we could not hear anything but drums for the first 3 songs. Something definitely wrong with the sound system. The rest of the concert was ok but still not good sound quality. We'll try one more time and see if it's better. read more
