Well she had some sort of medical condition where she said she was in the hospital for months. By this time I had spent thousands more on child support and had to basically threaten to sue her to finish by Jan 31. She did submit the paperwork finally by that date (basically 4 months later) and my ex and I had a couple more small changes by the time she did finish the paperwork. She never updated the paperwork and I never heard back from her at all after multiple emails, phone calls, and trips to a vacant office. I finally had to finish all the paperwork myself and petition the courts (another $210). I wish she just would have refunded my money when she new she would be away for months.

Pros: He was able to get me in contact with a good guardian…read moread litem for my custody case. Cons: Did not inform me about developments in the case. Examples: The guardian engaged a psychologist for my alienated children. I found out through the guardian's invoice. I found out that mediation talks were progressing through my invoice. I found out that a second mediation was in the works through an invoice 3 months later, even though another is not required. Mediated agreement was never submitted as an order of the court. When the mother refused to follow the agreement we signed, she could not be held in contempt of court. I had to get a temporary hearing with a new lawyer, where I was finally able to get temporary custody and have this submitted as an order. 5 months of violations were not acted upon, and no longer qualified as an emergency. I had to wait for additional violations to get a temporary hearing. When I changed lawyers, I also discovered that most of the new evidence was never added to my case file. The discovery period expired without filing for records, so the opposing counsel was able to block all attempts to get official school and medical records. There was no movement in this case for months, but once I changed attorneys, I got a lot of traction, was able to get in front of a judge, and gain temporary custody until a final hearing could be set.
