At every appointment that I have with her, she doesn't rush, she lets me talk as much as I need to. She knows who I am and sometimes we might talk about something fun we did over the weekend. After his initial consultation and evaluation, he then goes over solutions. Recently, I had belonged to a Medical Group where the doctor would immediately come in and go to the computer, spending less that 2 1/2 minutes of personal time with me as the patient. This became a regular routine, where after all the computer input had been done, then the exam would take place, usually in a rapid manner. The opposite is true of Dr. Furness. I would say his strength is he obviously does his homework before even coming through the door. He knows why you are there and is already prepared to offer options depending on the ailment. He is easily accessible through his office and/or online and is prompt to respond. The most important aspect and quality of Dr. Furness is that he treats his patient as an intelligent adult and listens to options or ideas that the patient has to offer. He is not a doctor who lives off his ego, rather he lives to fulfill his chosen path of healing.

His sense of humor helped ease our nerves when we received not-so-great news. When my husband passed away, Dr. Slater was there for me and my daughters to answer any questions we may have. So he gets online and schedules another appointment later that day, now the office calls him and says the doctor is too mad at him to see him later that day and he has to be seen the following week. Currently his blood pressure is very low because of recent weight loss, at least we can manage all this because of our own medical knowledge. He still has head congestion and can't hear well. I had a problem with this doctor previously because of a mix up at the pharmacy that was his and the pharmacies fault, and wrote a negative review here. Now my husband is apparently being held responsible for my issues with him. Are there any good doctors left, because he actual is a good doctor, very knowledgable and has really helped him.
