I was recommended to Dr. Lee's office by my brother. I immediately call to make an appointment. I was so impress how the person on the phone was so friendly. I went for an emergency visit. My first visit was about a month or so. As I arrived there every single staff member came by just to say Hello. I said wow this staff is amaxing. Im terrified of dentist because of all my previous bad experiences. I finally met my dentist who was Dr. Darwish immediately upon her introducing herself to me I was impress. I took a liking to her . She was just so friendly. Kind. She spoke gently. She were gentle. I had to have a tooth extracted. OMG I wa so terrified. Dr Darwish assured me I wont feel a thing. The day came fory extraction. My heart was beating so fast I was even crying . My tooth was extracted out. I did not even know. I didnt feel a thing. In all my life going to dentist ive never. Never experienced any dentist such as Dr.Darwish. she is Excellent. This is the very first Dentist in history that give you a shot for extraction and you had no idea you had a shot. After the last cleaning at this office, my teeth felt the cleanest they had ever been and she was so fast at it I told her to slow down. The facility seemed very cramped as if they needed a new location. Prior to my visit and thereafter I heard someone who was threatening my teeth. I hope it wasn't coming from this dentist. Unfortunately after being a patient for over 15 years, I cannot recommend this office. The billing department is extremely predatory and disorganized. I was contacted 2/16/2023 over a bill from 6/28/2021--are you kidding me? Apparently there was a misunderstanding with my insurance at the time and a balance is remaining. I was never notified about this prior, and now contacted almost 2 years later to fork up these funds out the blue. Very distasteful, they have permanently lost a long time patient. This is not the first time this has happened either--I have had them mix up my family bills and claim I had past due balances when it was due to their own error. Located in a house in Olney, MD is Dr. Henry Lee. You could easily miss it if you don't pay attention. I have been a patient at Dr. Lee's for years! I always leave feeling good about the services that I received. The staff here is super friendly and always willing to go above and beyond. Even though job, address and insurance changes I still make the commute to Olney, MD for my visits. I like the feel of the small office rather than those huge dental practices. The crack tooth was caused by Alex Lee. When he checked my tooth, he hit my tooth so badly that I felt a terrible pain. The abscess showed up less than two weeks later. After my unfortunate experience with Dr. Alex Lee, I went to see another dentist who couldn't find any crack on the x-rays. I searched on the web and learned that a tiny crack would not show on the x-ray but could be the cause of an abscess. I also learned that a hard poking from a periodontal exam could break a tooth, in my case it was the root next to my wisdom tooth at the bottom. I believe it is No. 18 instead of No. 20 as I wrote in my first evaluation. However, the nightmare didn't stop there, it went on with a next dentist who operated on the wrong tooth instead of extracting No. 18 like he should have done. I'm seeing another dentist who appears to be EXCELLENT, thanks goodness. After all repairs are done, I will gather my bills. Dr. Alex Lee should pay for the extraction that I paid out of my own pocket. Then I will have to go on to the second dentist who not only operated on a perfectly healthy tooth but broke a bone underneath according to my maxillary dentist. Now two implants need to be done plus a maxillary reconstruction. I will not ask for any compensation since I don't believe in it; however, I think all bad operations that I paid should be reimbursed to my insurance as well as all cash I paid out of my own pocket. read more

I have had very good experiences with Dr Lees office for several years now. When COVID happened and everyone at my company had to work remotely - my dentist was in DC. I moved all my medical needs closer to my home- And I am so glad that I did. I had been with my other Dentist for so long I had forgotten what really good dentistry was. Teeth whitening, Very clean office- not an issue using Groupon- be prepared to fill out pages of information. However Personnel was very professional. The process itself was done in 15 minute increments x3 with gel, I counted each minute and watched the light in corner- wish there was some sort of distraction, besides music- time seemed long. I needed a new dentist and read many reviews to find one that had a lot of positive reviews and that would take my Cigna dental discount card. Dr Lee fit my needs. I was able to get a new patient appointment for a cleaning and exam the next day. (There was a cancelation so I was lucky) otherwise it would've been about 2 weeks, which still is good for a routine visit. My hygienist, Tinny, was excellent! She explained to me everything that she was doing and she was thorough and gentle while doing a good job. Dr Lee examined my mouth and x-rays. I purchased a Groupon whitening and had it done recently. Scheduling took a while to get in but they were very friendly and COVID also affected that naturally. They were great during my first service and when I had an issue and called to ask about it-they were super educational and accommodating to get me in right away to review and address the issue. I recently purchased a Teeth Whitening appt on GroupOn to Dr. Lee's office. I was excited to finally get off all the coffee stains from all the early college mornings. Dr. Henry's office confused me at first glance as it is actually a home turned business. The homey environment would help with patients who were maybe a little nervous. All of the staff was young and professional and when Dr. Lee came into see me he really took the time to make sure my teeth were healthy enough to withstand the procedure. Here's where it gets a little hairy, the gentleman who applied the whitening treatment to my teeth positioned me in a way to swallow, halfway through the procedure I was leaking drool alllll over the place, real uncomfortable and I got the bleach everywhere. He eventually came back and had to redo the treatment. Regardless, the rest of the treatment went fine but the pain afterwards was horrendous. They said "slight sensitivity" but I had to drug myself to sleep to endure and I'm really good with pain. I was provided with Sensodyne which only mitigated some of the pain.12 hrs after the procedure it was bearable though. read more

I would not recommend Dr. Lee for children's dental work. My daughter, in the course of having braces on both her baby teeth and adult teeth, had many baby teeth and some adult teeth removed (to make room in her mouth). She was a trooper! When her regular dentist was on vacation and we wanted to keep on her orthodontist's schedule, we went to Dr. Lee. The only dentist that brought tears to her eyes was Dr. Lee. And, that's even counting my home town dentist in PA who accidentally dropped a baby tooth in her mouth and she swallowed it! Dr. Lee is so friendly, welcoming, helpful, and has a very relaxed/calm disposition that is very refreshing. He is very THOROUGH and takes his time. I always feel like a person and never feel rushed. I recently had x-rays and Zoom whitening done, a cavity filled, and a chipped tooth composite fixed. He does great work and has a nice office with multiple rooms and his parking lot is ALWAYS busy. During today's visit to Dr. Lee's office, I had three fillings completed. I asked if nitris or valium were available to calm my nerves as I don't do well with dental procedures and was feeling very nervous. I was assured that nitris would be no problem. It was no problem... until I went to leave and was informed that the nitris is an additional charge and not covered by insurance. Uh... ok. Did anyone think to tell me this? No. "That comes to $364". WHAAAT?! I have two kids in daycare! You can't just spring $364 on someone without telling them! NOT COOL. Had I known it would be an additional charge, I CERTAINLY would have white-knuckled it through the procedure. VERY VERY disappointed with the lack of communication. Dr. Lee is hands down the best dentist. Not only is he great at what he does, he is also very warm, kind and friendly. I never felt rushed or pushed towards any service like the other dentist, and I'm never scared of going to see him. I've had 5 visits with him so far and had my teeth checked, cleaned, filled and now just picked up my clear braces. He is extremely gentle and thorough. I can't say enough good things about him and his staffs. I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for my appointment even though his office gets booked up very quickly. I saw him once but he was very down to Earth and helpful with my issue. He even helped refer me to a root canal specialist nearby that accepts my insurance. His office staff was also pretty nice. The only downside was one of his assistants made me hold my own x-ray in my mouth and got fussy when I didn't understand. I didn't understand because I never had to do that before. The office was clean and the staff members were professional. There is a parking lot so parking wasn't a problem. Once I signed in, my wait time was minimal. I was seen by Dr. Lam and he was great. I had digital x-rays taken which came up on the computer screen immediately. He went through all the x-rays and explained step by step what he was looking at. It was five years ago and I wanted to get a cleaning before a dental insurance plan I was enrolled inexpired. While my dentist for several years had just moved his practice to Aspen Hill, I decided to find an office close to my house. I knew Dr Lee's office was walking distance and had 5 reviews all 5 star on yelp. As many have stated, everyone in the office was friendly and welcoming. While I was waiting, a patient that was finished went to the receptionist and stated he needed to schedule a root canal. I thought he looked kind of young to need a root canal. After the cleaning, x rays were taken and I was told I needed a root canal or have the tooth extracted within the month. He said "if I didn't do something within the month I would have no choice and the tooth would need to be extracted" He showed me the x rays where the root appeared dark. To make a long story short, I got a copy of the x ray and drove to my dentist in Aspen Hill (now retired). He asked me was I feeling pain? Is there sensitivity to hot or cold? Then, he looked at the x ray and noticed there was dark under the other teeth and concluded there was no issue. Also, my current dentist for the last 2 years hasn't recommended any such procedure. read more

I went in for a teeth whitening session for the first time. I came out with tremendous zingers and incapacitating pain. Nobody at the office consulted me on pain management on my way out. When I called to ask what to do, they said they were going to ask the dentist and they'd call me back immediately. One hour passed and nobody called. I eventually called and they hadn't even spoken with the dentist. Left me crying in pain for over an hour while I waited for their call back. It is unfortunate that Dr. Lee never took a management course because yesterday he and his staff failed miserably. During my teeth whitening procedure, the mouth spreader became very uncomfortable. I called out for help but no one responded. I was patient thinking someone heard but were busy. When no one came, I made a small adjustment myself. A few minutes later the hygienist came in and asked a puzzling question - "Did you get any bleach on your hand?" I didn't know what he was talking about as he cleaned up bleach from my beard and cheek. After he left, I felt a burning sensation on my cheek and finger. I opened my eyes to see my index finger tip covered in bleach - no one said "don't touch anything otherwise you'll get bleach all over you". But the real problem came next. Once I discovered the bleach, I called for my hygienist. No response. Called again. And again. And again. After over 10 attempts, progressively louder and louder, feeling my skin burn all the while, I had to yell to get someone to help. Over 4 minutes. And yet his staff keeps walking by, talking with other patients and for whatever reason ignoring my calls for help (I could even hear Dr. Lee in the area next to me but no response). I couldn't believe it, and it was a medical problem. So as others have said in their reviews, Dr. Lee did call me a couple of hours later - and here comes the second fail - he wanted to talk to about the bleach on my skin, but when I told him it was about the lack of response, the only thing he offered was "I'm sorry it happened, I guess I'll talk to (hygienist's name)." Dr. Lee - Management 101 teaches you to: 1. Recognize this kind of problem is a serious threat to your practice's reputation, and viability - and verbalize this to your patient. 2. Tell the patient clearly what your office policy is regarding patient care and safety. 3. Say clearly that you will discuss this with the hygienist to prevent this from happening again. 4. And reassure us that you will take this opportunity to review client care and safety procedures with your whole staff, which should include using lower voices so staff can hear a call for help. Dr. Lee - I suggest you take time to revamp your standards of patient care and ensure your staff meets those standards. In the meantime, I have to recommend to all reading this: do not use Dr. Lee's office if you value a safe medical environment. read more
