Dr Izu was very pushy during our birthing process, he was late to the birth and another doctor was helping already and when Dr Izu showed up he wasn't very happy about it. He put a dimmer on things when he walking in and realized my wife was already giving birth. He threw his hand in the air and turned around and walked on miffed. He later came back and the mood was altered. We were trying to rejoice and he seems to care mostly that the other doctor had to step in early. The hospital had called him when my wife started going into labor, but he took forever to show up, then acted all mad and surprised. When the baby was finally born he didnt even bother to congratulate us he just was quite and walked away. Before the birth he had called us to see if we were interested in a C-section birth and tried very hard to sell us on the idea, but we were just really not interested. He tried to make it sound like a better idea, that it was safer and cleaner, less invasive and would not stretch my wife out. It was all very awkward and unpleasant. His attitude was not good after we rejected the idea and he maintained this poor attitude even after he finally showed up at the birthing process. A little while after our son was born he did come back and tried to convince us to have a circumcision performed. We did already want one, but he acted like if we didnt we were bad parents, as if he expected us to disagree, it again was very awkward. Then later when he performed the procedure he seem to have badly botched the job as way to much skin was removed. It was terrible, in fact we now belive he may have permanently damaged our son, we dont think he will end up normal, the skin was fused to his glans in a very unnatural looking manner, it looks badly scarred. He seemed nice before things started not going his way thats when things turned south, we cant help but think he was angry with us rejecting his notions on C-section, and wasn't very careful with our son because of it. Dr Izu stunned us during the birth of our son. He showed up late to the birthing process and was hostile towards my wife for not wanting to consider a C-Section. My wife wanted a natural child birth and he kept telling her is would be easier and save her elasticity. My wife wasnt having it and he was getting visibly upset she wasnt going to budge. He seemed ok up until the day of the birth. My wife was in labor a number of hours beyond what was expected and Dr Izu kept lamenting about some kind of other engagement he wanted to be at. My wifes water broke and we went to the hospital we had no plans to wreck his plans. It put a damper on the birth process to say the least. At one point to speed things up he brought up the idea of using a vacuum tool to stick on our sons head. My wife was in serious pain so we elected to allow it, but now we totally regret it, it seemed to deform our sons head and it left a huge huge massive bruise on his head near his tender spot. We are worried now because other doctors told of that serious side effects can have occurred, not its wait and see. Then after the birth he told us the baby had to take all kinds of vaccines and we just wanted to wait on all that. But he made a big deal, even mentioned child protective services if we didnt submit. We eventually submitted to a vitamin K shot, but no others. We regret that too, we really wanted to wait on this, but he pressured us majorly and the threat of child protective service scared us they may come take our son away. Then later he pushed us to circumcision also before we wanted to consider it as I am half jewish I wanted to wait. But again he made us feel like a mile high and that we were bad parents if we waited. He pushed it on us and did a terrible terrible job and the amount of skin removed was horrific, and it totally looks like he may end up deformed down there. All in all he made the birthing process very unpleasant. His attitude was a big downer all together. I would recommend avoid this doctor. read more

Dr Izu came off nice at first but when the stress hit we saw another side this doctor. My wife was in labor for longer then expected, he was worried about some other patient because he kept talking about having to be somewhere else and the fact that my wife was taking longer then expected he kept acting miffed. It was a real downer for him to act this way, and we think it contributed to his incessant pressure to have a C-section. He was basically implying that it would be more expedient and would not ruin my wife's whowho. It was kind of sick and insulting the implication that our childs birth would somehow ruin my wife's body. But his undue pressure to get us to have a c-section was just uncalled for and it was rather annoying to tell you truth. He kept reasoning with us why it was a better and faster option, he ignored our ideas about the need to go through the birth canal to get all the right bacteria. Bottom line we wanted a natural birth and didn't care about his ideas of my wife getting overly stretched out. We ultimately ignored his suggestion but he was difficult to reason with, not to mention he was big big hurry to get through it, and he rushed us into a circumcision that we were ready to hold off on as I never had that done and we didnt think our son needed to either. He made us feel like terrible people for even thinking about it, but we relented and let him do it as he scared us to death about all the bad things that can happen. But it was a horrible choice and we regret not getting to think about it more, because he did a terrible job. He ruined our son, he cut was to much skin off and we think its going to stunt his growth. Ok Dr Izu was terrible, he totally hounded my wife and I to so a C-section even after we told him over and over we didn't want to have a C-section. He kept telling us it would be better for my wife indicating that it would leave her more intact. Basically implying the baby was going to wreck her and stretch her out, but we know that the birth canal was the best place to pickup these essentials for a good start at have a properly setup gut biome. He didn't even seem to know about that and could have cared less, he just was convince a C-section was the way to go. After all my wife was in labor for several hours and he thought it would speed things up, but my wife was a trooper and wasn't going to take something away from our son to give him the best start. Later on hell started we didn't want any kind of shots for our son, and man things got heavy he made us seem like terrible parents for wanting to wait on stuff like that, he even made us feel like he was going to recommend calling child services. That alone made us never want to see him again, but then the pressure came for getting our son circumsized. We were planning on waiting on that too as I never did that so I wasn't sure. I have had a couple of bad situations with infections and my wife didn't want our son to have to face that in his future so we decided to do it. But man he wrecked our boy, he took so much tissue that he didn't like anatomically. Correct, but more like he will be deformed. We are hoping he will recover and repair but man he seem to have really botched the job. Anyway it was a very stressful birth process and I would recommend anyone considering this doctor think about it first. If we could do it all over again we would go another route. read more

Well we took a chance because of the positive reviews, but for us this Doctor it turns out we got the short end of the stick like a few others that we saw. A friend of ours recommend him actually and pointed out his positive reviews. We had been more interested in natural medicine, but our friend made him sound so nice we thought it could be a nice match. All seemed well until it was time for delivery. When the doctor first arrived the first thing he said to us was you should really consider a C-section. We were quite adamant and against it, but never the less he carried on about how it would be better for her and the baby. He even basically told us it would keep it from stretching my wife out. When we objected and touted some of the benefits of child birth he scoffed at it and more or less tried to discredit the ideas. He just seemed to be in a rush like he had somewhere else to be and when our son was born the pressure was on to circumcise, we already had another son so it was no big deal, so we thought. After it was all said and done the anatomical difference between our two sons was stunning after he was finished with our new born son. We had pictures of both our sons pre circumcision and they look nearly identical, but post circumcision they most certainly do not. Our new born was robbed by Dr Jerry Izu in what seems like overkill to say the least. He just took so much off it just seems malformed compared to our first son. So buyer beware. We thought the negative comments were just a fluke but for us this guy was bad news. read more

Inconsiderate Doctor My wife was in labor with our son and our Doctor Jerry Izu was very late to the hospital. We had warned the nurse that my wife gives birth very quickly as we knew this from our other sons. When she got to the hospital she was having a bit of a rough time, and she just wanted to wait it out but the doctor called up and pressured us to induce to speed the process up. We didn't want to do that, but he more or less insisted. The doctors showed up to try and convince my wife to consider both a c-section and an epidural shot for pain. My wife was really not interested in a C-section, and we had to refuse over and over, and we finally relented on the epidural. The doctor kept saying it would be better. It really hurt my wifes back and still has not got better. After a number of hours the doctor had to leave for some reason, and while he was gone they had to call him because the baby was coming. He arrived minutes after the onsite doctor had to deliver our son. Instead of Joy for our miracle, he got all angry and irritated, it was awkward during our special moment and very rude. Then he immediately insisted on a circumcision and we were on the fence, then he went off on how it would be bad if we didn't, there was a lot of pressure. We went ahead with the procedure and wow he seem to take much more skin then we had expected. We are worried about how things will turn out in that department. All in all his actions and attitudes left us not very happy with his performance to say the least. Beware. read more

Dr Izu is terribly in patient and rude. My wife and I had moved to California with my wife near term and we needed a doctor to help with the delivery of our son. We had a few interactions with the doctor at his office and he seemed ok enough. But when it came time to deliver our son things took a turn for the worse. First of all when we got to the hospital my wife was already in labor and we had them call the doctor. Well before he was able to make it my wife started giving birth and it was the on call doctor that was taking care of it. Dr Izu did not show up in time and by the time he did our son was already born. Needless to say the doctor was very unpleasant, it turns out he had to leave some other event he wanted to be at. We saw him turn around and throw his hands up in the air with anger. He didnt want us to see that but we did. He then came to hound us about a circumcision and we were on the fence about it, but he was relentless and kept pushing us to make a choice now. We wanted to wait but eventually with all his pressure we caved. Big mistake, he basically butchered our son, he carved away so much skin it was ghastly. We are worried he ruined our sons potential, were nervous he may have stunted his growth. Later after he started to heal the foreskin fused with the skin of his glans, its really quite terrible. We are really quite disappointed and concerned for our son future. Dr Izu really botched this job and for this reason we can not recommend him to anyone that is having a son. Forceps Delivery Dr Jerry Izu deformed our babies head and ruined him with a circumcision that was terrible. First off this doctor was very annoyed that my wifes labor was taking longer then he seem to have expected. She was in labor near 17 hours and he finally tried to get us to accept a c-section but my wife was determined to have the baby. He was visibly annoyed with our choice. He kept on like a little kid for like an hour or he would have to resort of forcepts. Finally he said forcepts were the answer we had no idea but we were getting scared he made it sound like it would be fairly quick and simple. It was anything but it was horrible, the babies facial skin was stretched and his head was elongated and malformed. We were scared and so far his head has not went back to normal. Thats not all he immediately laid into us about how important the circumcision was, we really didnt want one but he made us feel like horrible parents if we didnt. So we gave in but were very sorry for it. We he was done our boy look deformed. So much skin was removed it was ridiculous. We he was done there was practically nothing left but the top. I noticed that other people had the same issue with his botched job trend. Its a big pattern so it begs the question could he be doing it on purpose? Ladies skin care products have been made with the growth factors from babies foreskin. You have to wonder. All in all this was a horrible process and he made it so much worse then it should of been. read more

Dr, Jerry Izu was a very inconsiderate doctor and had no concerns about our private interests. When our son was born we had no intention of getting him circumcised as my wife is half Jewish. We had intended to not do one, but his bull dog doctor scared us to death and made us feel like we were as low as a snakes belly for not wanting to go through with it. He scared us with fears about terrible infections and life long problems. We were already stressed out because we didn't want the vitamin K shot for at least a year, but he acted again like we were bad parents for wanting to trust nature more then him. In the end we caved and were sorry on both accounts, his job was botched and he has removed entirely to much skin, it was a disaster. He removed so much skin we think he will have stunted growth. The vitamin k shot was even worse, after they coerced us into it our boy turned blue for hours after this shot and the others they convinced us he should have. We were so scared and unsure what to make of it. Now it may appear our son has some kind of neurological issues. But when we bring it up to him he just says it couldn't possible have anything to do with it. Basically Dr Izu pretends our boy would have had these issue even if he hadn't turned blue for hours on his first day of life. We fully disagree, so in our view he both physically and mentally cost our son. So if you want someone who will consider your instincts and wishes steer clear of Dr Jerry Izu. read more

Dr Jerry Izu was like a pushy tyrant, we had a terrible birthing experience. It was a total downer they way he treated us, he kept trying to get us to go for a C-section just because my wife was in labor nearly 18 hours. He kept trying to convince us it was a better option and that it would preserve my wife's elasticity. My wife wasn't having any of it. He kept acting like he had other places to be and was greatly annoyed at our insistence of staying the longer natural course. The craziest suggestion he made though was trying to convince us to use forceps, which was a big mistake but after like 16 hours we were getting desperate so we relented. But as I said it was a big mistake, it did help speed things up, but it also deformed our sons head. He has to use a special helmet to try and shape it normally. We are also scared that he will sustain some kinds of developmental disabilities. But it doesn't end here, the circumsision went very badly too, he just took so so much to much skin and it has also deformed our son. It as a really badly botched job, so bad that we asked him to his face if he was going to use the extra skin in some way, and he nearly turned white. We got a bad feeling because it was in jest that we asked due to our great surprise, but his reaction sent chills down our spines. I have read other reviews of this guy where this very complaint has come up, so beware of his butchery. read more

My wife and I actually looked at reviews for this doctor and the majority of reviews were positive, so we more or less ignored the negative reviews. But after going through the birthing process I have to say we have changed our minds. I have since reviewed the contents of Dr Izu's negative reviews and found it correlated to our experience as well. We too were not interested in a C-section, and when my wife's labor started taking to long he like others commented in reviews I have seen started trying to up sell the idea of a C-Section, and he was very aggressive about it as well. It made my wife very upset and uncomfortable, when she was already so due to her labor pains. Next was circumcision which we were totally for and has no issues with it, until after it was completed. Just as in his other negative reviews on the matter he seem to have removed a very excessive amount of skin. It made his anatomy look very much smaller and deformed, it just didn't look right and healed back in a very uneven way. Im not certain like others claim that he is selling this excess skin but it seems plausible given just how much skin was removed. Also he seem very interested in just getting in and getting out and he showed up late, and really didn't like the fact the labor was taking so long give the labor started at 1am. Ok I have read a number of reviews on the internet about Dr Izu and only after having him deliver our son did it become apparent there was a striking pattern, that also fits our case. He very much kept trying to convince us to circumcise against our wishes. I was never circumcised and I didn't think my son needed to be either. But he kept bullying us about it, and that it had to be done asap or it would be some kind of mortal issue. Something about infection risks etc. I have had a couple and my wife thought it might be nice to spare him of that. It wasn't really that bad, but isn't very pleasant either. Anyway we went ahead and caved to his badgering and allowed the procedure. You know in the heat of the moment the pressure to do whats implied as right is heavy, its only in retrospect that you begin to realize you had made a mistake. And a mistake it was! He removed so much skin it didn't even look like the same thing anymore. We were aghast, it was irreprehensible and deforming, and will stunt his growth. Then I read in some other posts about the fear male fore skin is being sold for its growth factors in certain facial cremes. There is a market for that, and it sickens me to think that goes on, and further still that may have happened to us and our son. I can't say for sure, but he made such an error in judgement as to leave me in a state of suspicion. read more
