There are truly not enough words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Navi and his incredible team…read more From the beginning of my pregnancy through the delivery of my daughter, Lorelai, I felt cared for, supported, and genuinely valued as a patient. Dr. Navi is an exceptional physician who combines knowledge, professionalism, and compassion in a way that immediately puts you at ease. Throughout my pregnancy, he took the time to listen to my concerns, answer every question, and ensure that both my baby and I received the best possible care. During some stressful moments, his calm demeanor and expertise gave me confidence and reassurance when I needed it most. I also want to give special recognition to Sonia and Brittney at the front desk. They are absolutely amazing. Every phone call, appointment, and interaction was met with kindness, patience, and genuine care. They always made me feel welcome and were incredibly helpful with scheduling, paperwork, and any questions I had along the way. Their warmth and professionalism made such a difference during my pregnancy journey. What sets this office apart is that everyone truly cares. I never felt like just another patient. I felt heard, respected, and supported every step of the way. Bringing my daughter into the world was one of the most important moments of my life, and I am so thankful that Dr. Navi and his team were part of that journey. If you are looking for an OBGYN who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and surrounded by an outstanding team, I cannot recommend Dr. Navi highly enough. Thank you, Dr. Navi, Sonia, Brittney, and the entire staff for helping make my pregnancy and delivery experience such a positive and memorable one. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

I showed up for my app 10-12 min early and after being asked for my driver's license and insurance…read morecard, was presented with about 6 sheets of forms - all standard and expected - except for one: The "Credit Card Authorization" form asked for my credit card info for them to keep on file and charge as they saw fit. I handed the forms back to the lady, was called back, and told the "credit card authorization" form was required to be completed. I explained I was well insured and had completed all of the other forms and those specific to "responsible party" and was uncomfortable writing my credit card number down on a sheet of paper for them to KEEP on file. The lady next to Brittany said that "this was required and their practice's policy." I explained why I was not comfortable with this policy and this was the first time it was brought to my attention, and if this was their practice's policy, they should inform patients and before they are standing at the front desk - waiting to be seen - in a room full of people. Brittany went to go speak w/ the "Billing" person, came back and said "sorry, they will not make an exception." Mind you, there is no issue for me to pay a co-pay in person with cash or a card or debit card, but to hand write my credit card number down on a piece of paper and have it "stored" on file is not normal. I expressed my disbelief that I had waited for this appt and now they would not see me unless I wrote down my credit card info - on a piece of paper - for them. So, I left. I was now, in my car, in the parking lot, and was going to go back inside and insist to speak w/ the "billing" person. Not wanting to make a scene - I was literally in tears at this point - I called and spoke with Brittany. She said the "billing person was Sabrina" (who - of course - is on the phone with an insurance co. her to have Sabrina phone me - because this was a really, really bad experience. First, for most women - a gyno appt is very personal, intimate, and invasive. For many - this type of appt can cause anxiety and distress. As a person with PTSD, I fall into both categories, and had to mentally prep myself for this appt., at this new facility, with people I had never met before and have them look up my privates. Yet, I was prepared, got there early, completed their paperwork, and did everything as asked, except provide personal financial info - my credit card - on a piece of paper. After all - what is the purpose of insurance - in my case - we are blessed to have the best of the best insurance - Motion Picture Anthem Blue Cross - and in addition to standard "person with financial responsibility" forms - in this case, it was me - this office REQUIRES you to give them your credit card and authorize them to charge it at their discretion. That is NOT standard practice. I have seen doctors in and outside the UCLA/Anthem Blue Cross/Motion Picture System, and never once been asked to leave my credit card number on file. And if this is something this practice REQUIRES, in order for a person to be seen, they should advise and disclose this to the person BEFORE they have waited weeks for an appt and are standing at the desk. I began to home when Brittany called back asking if I had left the parking lot yet (I said "yes") then she said she had talked with Sabrina and "she had made an exception for me and would like me to return for my appt and be seen today." Huh? I am truly in shock at this point. Seriously? I told her, "no." I do not feel comfortable nor safe now." She - Brittany - was very nice, but I made it clear that I was not going to return and was going to let my doctor know about this - "requirement" - and how it's sprung on you at the desk and that despite having proof of being well-insured with the best insurance one can have, it came down to give-us-your-credit-card-and auth to charge it at will or-you-wont-be-seen. I got home, decided to call the facility back and went through phone prompts. #4 was for "Billing." It's funny that when pressing #4, the recording said "This extension no longer exists." I am not expecting to receive a call back from Sabrina or Dr. Navi Navizadeh who is supposed to be the practice's owner and doctor. If this practice specializes as a "walk in clinic" and demands payment or access to my personal credit card before being seen - it's not the place for me and most people. Other people, I see, now, have written negative yelp reviewers about improper billing and difficulty with getting issues with the "Billing" person at this place resolved. Giving any doctor or authorization to go ahead and charge - at their whim - your card - for any amount and at any time - is very concerning. Because oftentimes, we see a doctor, get a bill a few weeks later, then a few weeks after that, we get an "EOB" - Explanation of Benefits - which comes straight from our insurance co and often shows a "balance due" of "0" or far less than the bill. That's what we owe. NOT what Dr. Navi bills for

I did extensive research and spoke to many women in the area because it was extremely important to me who would deliver my baby, especially as a first-time mom. In the beginning of my care, he was kind and reassuring, and we genuinely felt comfortable. That meant a lot to me, because trust and safety are everything during pregnancy. Unfortunately, near the end of my pregnancy (around 38 weeks), a disagreement about something in our birth plan regarding delayed cord clamping shifted the tone of our relationship with Dr. Nish. When my husband mentioned that our midwife had shared different information, the conversation no longer felt collaborative and instead felt tense and dismissive to us. During that appointment, I recall statements that made me feel that outside input was not being considered, and we were told more than once that we should consider finding another provider. Hearing that at 38 weeks pregnant was deeply unsettling. At that stage, transferring care is extremely difficult, and I had already learned that other OBs were not accepting new patients that late in pregnancy. The situation left me feeling unsupported and very vulnerable. I fully respect that physicians are entitled to their clinical opinions. What was difficult for us was the tone and the feeling that asking questions or referencing other perspectives was not welcome. In my view, birth care should allow space for respectful dialogue and informed consent, even when there are differences in opinion. Additionally, I paid a fee for completion of my EDD disability paperwork, and it was submitted with errors. After going through the process of correcting it, I requested a refund but was told that would not be provided. This added to my overall disappointment. We went from feeling safe and supported to feeling anxious and abandoned in a single appointment. I'm sharing this so that other patients understand how disagreements may be handled, especially late in pregnancy when options can be limited. I truly wish our experience had remained collaborative.

At 47, I sought help for clear perimenopausal symptoms that were affecting my quality of life. I felt my concerns were dismissed because I wasn't experiencing hot flashes or night sweats, and the idea of HRT treatment was not seriously considered. When discussing options to alleviate some symptoms due to the release of low-dose hormones, I was encouraged to get back on the Mirena IUD. When I raised concerns about the excruciating pain during prior insertions, I was told to take ibuprofen for the "mild discomfort." Despite advocating for appropriate pain management ie. gel or spray lidocaine supported by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and other current gynecologic guidelines, with new their recommendations on Pain Management for IUD insertions, other In-Office Gynecologic Procedures. As a female doctor, I thought she'd be supportive of this guidance; however, no meaningful options were offered. Additionally, a "suggested" STI test was added to my well-woman exam and labeled as "standard," with no prior history or symptoms, nor my concent resulting in an unexpected bill. After multiple calls between the office and the lab, I was initially told I couldn't decline the test, which was never ordered in the past. Ultimately, my chart was updated to opt out, confirming it was indeed "optional" after all. The front desk representative, Stephanie, was rude, condescending, and unprofessional in handling the discrepancydue to having to call several times to address the issue before it was resolved. I've had unpleasant experiences with staff being rude on other occasions, and although they can be kind, that hasn't always been the case. Overall, I left feeling unheard both medically and administratively. Patients deserve individualized, evidence-based care, informed consent for "suggested" testing, transparent billing, and appropriate pain management. I am now researching a new provider for better patient care.

I've been dealing with hormonal imbalance for the past four months. I'm currently with Kaiser and have seen nine different doctors, most of whom suggested anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication. However, I knew something deeper was going on. What I initially thought were panic attacks at night turned out to be hot flashes. I often felt dismissed and unheard, which was incredibly frustrating. My wife helped me research other options, and that's when we found Thrive. After reading so many positive reviews, I felt hopeful that I had finally found a place where I would be seen and heard. My first visit with the doctor was positive. She listened to my concerns and ordered bloodwork. However, after completing my labs, I had difficulty getting a follow-up appointment. My calls were not returned, and I eventually had to use the emergency text number just to get a response. I was told I had a phone appointment scheduled at 11 AM, but I never received a call. When I followed up, they offered me an in-person appointment later that day, which I accepted. During that visit, the doctor reviewed my labs and told me a pharmacist would contact me the next day to start testosterone treatment. Unfortunately, I never received that call. I want to be clear that I'm not trying to be difficult, but dealing with hormonal issues has significantly impacted my quality of life. I've been experiencing sleepless nights, restlessness, irritability, bladder issues, and an overall sense that I'm not functioning at my best. Given that this is an out-of-pocket service, the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. I've since called and emailed multiple times without any response. Additionally, when you call their office, it goes straight to a generic voicemail that doesn't clearly identify the business, and messages are not returned. It feels like you have to constantly follow up just to get basic communication and even then, responses are inconsistent. I also want to add that I typically don't write reviews like this. However, if you are struggling the way I have been, I wouldn't want another woman to go through what I've experienced. I truly believe women should support one another and take each other's concerns seriously, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

At this point, it's almost laughable! Appointments (especially with any specialists) are now booked four months or more out. Then, on Wednesday 11/26 I received a call in the afternoon informing me that the doctor would not be available on 12/26 and that I would need call to reschedule. When I called them back on Monday 12/1 after returning home Thanksgiving vacation, I was told the next available appointment was March 6th!!! Keep in mind, I'm seeking this appointment because I'm having swallowing issues. So after scheduling in September, I now cannot be seen until March, which comes out to reaching a six-month window. This is exactly why I say the scheduling situation has almost become laughable and completely unacceptable. I went ahead and grabbed the March 6 appointment just in case I cannot find another doctor sooner, but given my symptoms, I have no choice but to search for someone who can see me within a reasonable amount of time. Considering the inconvenience, I expected at least some level of priority, but instead I felt like I was treated as if I were calling to make an initial appointment all over again. *WARNING! REVIEW CONTAINS SENSITIVE AND TRIGGERING TERMINOLOGY/SUBJECTS*…read more I have never been shy of sharing my journey with Stage 4 Endometriosis and cancerous ovarian cysts. I was diagnosed at 16 with this horrific illness and still suffer into my 40s. It is one of the worst conditions imaginable and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies but being that 1 in 10 women suffer in the US alone... I am not alone in this hellscape that has no cure or treatment. Despite being in perimenopause; my cysts are still out of control and I recently had a two-pronged crazy emergency: 1) I had so many large cysts that they were a danger to me and needed to be vacated 2) the cysts made my body think it was pregnant and created a sac! I basically needed an emergency procedure in the vein of a surgical abortion so that it be would less evasive than cutting me open like a frog in a high school biology class. I have Medi-Cal public health insurance and my gynecologist said to go through Family Planning Associates. I have seen my Medi-Cal health plan boast about Family Planning Associates but I never thought twice about it because I assumed it solely services for expectant mothers. What is FPA, ACTUALLY? FPA is a system of private clinics founded in 1969 (several locations in LA and Orange counties) that provide gynecological services, STD testing, pap smear testing, cancer testing, birth control, the distribution of condoms, the expectant mother services I assumed and... the ever so controversial: abortions. Basically, Family Planning Associates is like Planned Parenthood's cooler, rich cousin as it is not publicly funded but instead a privately-owned medical group but luckily DO accept public insurance in addition to private insurance. Plus, they have AMAZING Yelp reviews at every location, online, etc; so, I was feeling good about my gyno's suggestion. I initially called FPA in Glendale and explained my situation and that I basically need a surgerical abortion for my endo. The female (it seems all locations are teamed with an all-female staff: woo hoo!) was so very kind, patient and said that their location doesn't provide that service but she can make me an appointment through the computer reservation system for another location versus making me have to make an additional call. I was quite relieved with this being I was already anxious and made an appointment for the Mission Hills location. Amazingly, they had openings the very next day (each location only does these procedures one day a week) but I opted for the next week. While waiting for my appointment, FPA sends you texts to fill out online paperwork in their portal to speed up the process upon arrival and offers online supplements to prepare you and answer any questions beforehand helping to ease any confusion. They also send reminder texts and are with you every step of the way. The Mission Hills location of FPA is located in lovely building that almost reminds of an apartment building or hotel and isn't 'shady' in the least. Also, a bonus: no protestors outside which I honestly was expecting and I was ready to give THEM a lesson on endometriosis and the importance of saving women's lives. The office opens to spacious lobby with natural light, artwork and a large television and has a calming presence which is important in such a stressor-setting. Check-in was easy and the female staff at FPA Mission Hills were also super kind and courteous. I will complain about the fact that the cellphone internet service signal is awful at FPA. Even the employees complained but that is often the case at medical facilities. I won't get into details of the procedure as Yelp isn't the place for that but I will say that I was in great hands. I was worried that FPA would be ill-prepared for my endo and ovarian cysts with little experience; but all of the staff seemed confident and the doctor was amazing being educated and professional but also with a friendly, disarming bedside manner. I had slight complications when I woke up from my anesthesia and they took care of it immediately. After two weeks; I returned to FPA Mission Hills for my recovery checkup and I was met with the same kind service from staff who answered all my questions with expertise and even some humor and assured me that if I have ANY issues moving forward; to call them without any hesitation. Luckily, they said I was healing perfectly which is actually shocking for my 5x autoimmune body. One of my favorite parts of FPA is that they have a 24-hour nurse on hand to call with any issues or questions and they kindly text you after the procedure reaching out with the lovely intent of asking if you are healing well. FPA definitely makes you feel secure in your recovery. FPA is amazing and absolutely recommended to the fullest extent for all your gyno needs with private or Medi-Cal insurance. You are in good hands with FPA!
