After discussing what I needed Brad gave me a quote and then completed the inspection. I was disappointed by the result of the inspections but extremely happy that Brad did such a thorough, honest and unbiased inspection and saved me from making a purchase that I feel I would have regretted. We were driving from Omaha to Kansas City and our car started overheating. First we searched for a repair shop in Nebraska City and are *so* glad that we did. The shop has a friendly, family atmosphere and we were welcomed in. They hoisted the car up on their lift inspected the radiator, fans, etc and determined that our problem was a bad radiator cap that had caused us to loose coolant. With the new radiator cap, coolant and oil topped off they told us we were good to go for driving the rest of the way to KC and our road trip was saved. Instead of inconveniencing family, we drove down to KC, around the city, and back to Omaha with zero problems thanks to Bill Walters & Son.

Stranded on the side of the highway in a cloud of dust and debris, I finally got a chance to use that AAA RV insurance platinum membership. They rang up Benefiel for us and let me tell you, those guys rolled up on us and we were extremely happy to see them. It did take a bit for them to get to us, but that's only because they were strategizing on the ultimate highway repair----on-the-fly---get those vacationers off the road as quickly as possible----temporary fix!!!! Equipped with a 4x10 block and a chain saw and a CHAIN, they got us back on the road headed for their shop. They assessed what needed to be done quickly, ordered the leaf spring for us, and had someone go pick up the part the next day. While all this was going on and we were trying to figure out where to stay for the night, they referred us to an awesome trailer park with cabins that were a godsend for the kids and me to crash for the night. Our daughter broke down on the side of the highway about 30 miles outside Nebraska City. After…read moreseveral frustrating hours waiting on roadside assistance with no luck, I called Benefiel from Kansas City to get her help. The dispatcher was very patient and helpful. The tow truck driver was very helpful and kind in getting her towed somewhere that would be able to get her back on the road. He walked her through finding the drop box, filling out the information and everything. We are so appreciative that someone could help her as we were 3 hours away.

The situation was handled very unprofessionally--I was spoken to disrespectfully, and they even tried to involve people outside the actual transaction. Update: we just found out by a replicable mechanic that not only we didn't need new bolts for the…read moretruck but we saved a lot by getting the alignment through another place that was honest and cheaper. Douglas Tire was trying to charge us an extra 240 for new bolts that we didn't need. And by the way if we actually needed the new bolts they were only 60 on Amazon. It's very sad they're ripping people off and being so dishonest. My husband did not request to set the toe on the alignment and he was not told about the alignment charge until after the fact. Douglas Tire was trying to charge in full for an alignment they weren't even going to do. The staff were the unprofessional ones that were not answering our questions and being dishonest to long standing customers. Anyone would have got upset over everything that took place....... Went in for an alignment and found out they couldn't do a full alignment for reasons that didn't make any sense. They had it in the garage for an hour and did not explain to my husband what was going on. Instead they were going to charge for a full alignment price which they did not do the full alignment and they only made a few adjustments instead. This is really disappointing that they were trying to over charge. We always trusted them before this but not anymore.
