What I did notice is that chocolate is ridiculously expensive and with all that I've learned about chocolate, I can't help but wonder if it's even chocolate. I didn't ask either... all I know for sure is that everyone says this place has the best chocolate in town so I'm here buying a few basket stuffers. Before coming here, I stopped at Fowler Chocolates around the corner and no one was there so this place must be the place to buy chocolate. I watched the ladies at the registers ask everyone before me if they were rewards members and when they said no, they asked if they'd like to be. They forgot to ask me though. I overheard someone say it was 10 percent off today, must've been for members only, I didn't get a discount. I will be enjoying my dark chocolate tonight though, thank you Wahl's.

Unfortunately, there are only a few truly unique candies on offer; most all of the inventory is mass-produced candies and bulk sweets. This is more a retailer than a confectioner, as it seems like they don't really make anything in-house. They do stock local producer Platter's chocolates and sponge candy, and have some other loco-regional treats like Coffee Crisp, but otherwise it feels in most respects like any retail-only candy store. If you happen to be walking/driving by and need a quick glucose fix, feel to stop in if you have a few minutes and patronize a small business; just don't feel the need to head out of your way for it.

The chocolate is smooth, creamy and perfectly dark or perfectly milk - either and both, as they are true to their names! The orange chocolate was "just a bit orange' - it isn't ORANGE chocolate, and we saw right off why this is a fave! The sponge candy - some wrapped in orange chocolate, some in dark and milk chocolate, and some sponge is even peanut butter! We were given generous sized samples, and bought enough for us and as gifts! The prices were all great, and considering the quality - VERY reasonable! The candy shop has truffles, candy by the piece / pound and just so much to choose from. We LOVED the smaller sized pieces, as we wanted to try a good number and we did! ALL have been excellent! Okay, the staff - they too could not be better! One young man said if we had any questions, just ask. He was IN THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY! But I DID ask him, he came out and gave me great info. They have a good selection, and of course I was looking forward to Orange Chocolate. Nope, my husband chose that and I had S'mores soft-serve. Those cones were huge and absolutely DELICIOUS! Ultra chocolatey, but not "just chocolate"! The orange essence shown in just the right degree and the S'mores was very chocolatey (I was delighted for that!) and had all of the s'mores ingredients shining in it as well. Okay, we did share and I was happy about that too! The factory part of Platters is fun, informative and live for some - video for other parts. The "chocolate shop" where you enjoy the candies and ice creams, is open and inviting. It is busy enough, but enjoyable too. There is just so much to see and try, and so many choices that you just have to go back!
