Chai just completed a clear bra or paint protection film (PPF) installation on my Tesla Model Y…read moreusing STEK DYNOshield. This is my first PPF install with him since he started MOD but he previously installed PPF on eight of my cars prior to establishing MOD. The two primary reasons I have returned to Chai for PPF work is because he is meticulous and he is one of the very few PPF installers in the DC area that rarely use plotters to precut his film. Instead, he cuts from large sheets and hand cut/trims to custom fit each vehicle. This allows him the flexibility to customize each job (edge wrapping) and he can minimize the amount of "stretching" which disproportionately thins out certain areas of the film. Appointment - I made an appointment with him via FB messenger two weeks in advance for full front, partial windshield, partial roof, interior, and rear hatch/bumper. He confirmed our appointment two days ahead. On the day of the appointment, I gave him a 20-minute heads up prior to my arrival. When I arrived, Chai's team had prepared large rectangular film pieces labeled for each panel on a table for my Model Y. Quality - My install took about 10-hours. I don't recommend you wait for your car at the shop like I did because Chai takes his craft seriously and this work takes time. He painstakingly goes through every panel of your vehicle's paint to ensure there are no imperfections and even provided me his analysis of my Tesla's Pearl White Multi Coat paint. Chai washed, clay barred, and wiped down each panel that required PPF. His inspection on my new Model Y resulted in one small paint chip that he touched up prior to PPF install. MOD's business manager/rear glass window expert, Spencer, was responsible for cutting out large rectangular film for each panel of the vehicle. Chai would apply and use a razor knife to hand cut/trim each piece without touching or damaging the paint. Each body panel uses one sheet of film, never split into two pieces to minimize unsightly film lines. He edged wrapped the entire hood which resulted in no visible lines. Areas such as headlights and some panels where edges cannot be wrapped, Chai would hand trim/cut with his razor knife as close to the edge as possible where it's barely visible. It is a work of art watching his hand precision with cutting film. Result - The end product was a high quality professional installation. There were zero air bubbles resulting from dust/debris. The edge wrap adhered to the paint. No visible film peeling. Lines were straight and rarely visible (as close to the edge as possible) throughout the install. There were no paint damage from knife cutting. This was an excellent PPF installation. Unless you are six inches away from the PPF and trying to find the film line, it would be hard-pressed to see it. The installation was that good. Bottom line - If you want a top notch PPF installation for your vehicle, do yourself a favor and talk to Chai. He is a car enthusiast at heart and will let you know what type of coverage is best for your needs - daily driver to your track day car. His prices are reasonable. He is not the most expensive and he is not the cheapest but Chai will give you a high quality masterpiece for your money.

PPF was the 2nd. But, after seeing the totals from various aftermarket companies ranging from $1,280-$1,600 & up + $400-$800 for S&H, I researched other options. Even if I bought one of the carbon fiber hoods, I would still wanted it PPF protected. I saw various options, but really liked what I saw from Mod. On top of good craftsmanship, they performed a 2 for 1 for me: gave me the carbon fiber I wanted as well as the protection all in one session. Highly recommend.
