I should have listened to the reviews. I hope you listen. I needed new soles on my Fabi shoes. I showed him the woven structure of the shoes and he said he could take care of it. I paid him $20 of his $80 service and he returned my shoes with holes in the seam and only glued the new sole over the woven part leaving gaps in the seam. Water, dirt, and other elements can get between the layers. I pointed this out and he said "oh if there's a problem just bring them back". Why the hell would I do that?

The store owner was a complete jerk and accused her of already picking up the shoe. She then insisted that she had not. The store gave her shoes away and said they had been there for too long. The store has her phone number and never did place a call to her as a reminder. They just gave away her shoes that are worth almost $400 bucks. A call to remind the customer is a reasonable expectation. They never made a call, gave away her shoes and now they lost a customer. I wonder if the store owner sold them and that is his side hustle. I brought both shoes in as most repair places shine them up for you with repairs and can also see how the other shoe with an intact heel appears. They took a few days to do the repair and asked for cash in advance $8.50. When I picked them up they were not shined up at all which I was a little surprised at but not the reason for the review. The heel lasted all of about 3 hours before it came off again. I will not go back and do not recommend others do either.

Getting to this shoe repair place feels a little like an adventure. My first time here I really did…read morenot like it but it grows on you. It is located in a quiet historic basement of a building called "The Mall", on 474 Central. You can take the elevator or the stairs. The entry to the staircase is to the right of the Mizuki Grill. In the basement, you will find Tiffany style light shades overhead and stained glass pieces along the way. You will encounter a person walking towards you and then notice they are wearing the same outfit.. Oh, it's a mirror. A giant mirror. So just past the mirror is the friendly shoe and purse repair. The quality of his work is great and the turnaround time is very reasonable. It took only a couple of days to get the soles replaced on my husband's shoes. I appreciated that all the shoes for pick-up were conveniently placed in a paper bags so you don't have to carry them out in the open. A nice finishing touch. The downside: He takes cash only. The good thing is that he writes the price on the claim ticket and you pay when you pick your items up.
