I have my cars at Henry's Smog now for the second time. He makes this very convenient. No appointment needed, he can handle two cars at a time, so there is minimal waiting. I was both times in and out within 15/20 minutes. The pricing is fair and at times he will have a coupon on his website. If you go and renew your registration at AAA in Escondido, you can literally drive from Henry's to AAA and expect for them to see the smog passing score when you get your new registration and stickers. read more

Slightly unclear pricing on the coupon offered on the app, but still the best in town. Yelp check in price is $29.99, but you still have to pay an additional $10 for the certification. Even though the coupon should be written a bit differently, I still understood when he stated the additional cost. My husband found it to be misleading, however. Also, when you go on their website, they have a coupon special for $39.70 and "+ CERT $8.25". So for the Yelp special youre paying $10 for cert, but $8.25 online if you pay more for the smog. So look, it's not a huge difference, but it's still something to note. That being said, Henry was nice, got my smog done in about 5 minutes and even offered for me to use his phone when mine was having issues. You will have to back into potential traffic when exiting, so be aware of that. Still a 5 star place in my books. I'd change the coupon on yelp, however, to be a little clearer on the pricing. read more

Got here for smog @ THURSDAY-09/21/2023 3:00PM (NO APPOINTMENT) Had to renew my car's registration & had searched around for STAR Certified Smog. Super easy to find, right along the BLVD - and The technician was super nice and helpful They have an outdoor waiting area of lawnchairs but thankfully the smog didn't take long at all. As advertised: "Henry's is the cheapest, fastest, friendliest smog shop in escondido." I attest this! Unfortunately I had to jump my car before coming here because my car was sitting for a month on my driveway, and the technician didn't charge me because the smog tested as "incomplete" he told me to come back after i drive it for 90+ miles, which sucks but he was very helpful and didn't try to shell me out some $$$ even though he took the time to try to test it. Stopped here for a smog test after purchasing a used car since it was a requirement in order to get the car registered. I saw all the five star reviews and figure it would be a reliable place to get it done. All the reviewers were right. When we arrived (no appointment needed), two cars were just finishing up. They have two machines, which helps the line move quicker. We waited about 5 minutes and then Henry got started on our test right away. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes. I used the check-in coupon so the total came out to $40 including the certificate. When we stopped by the DMV about an hour later, our paperwork was already in the system. Gave true meaning to "bada bing bada boom." We'll definitely be back for our biannual smog test next year. read more

Henry asked me to pull the car in next to the other car. I shared I was looking for a smog check. I handed over the keys and he hooked up the FJ to his diagnostic machines.
