They make you feel very comfortable and relaxed with the required level of calming bing bong in the background. The other service I have used at the House of Healing is the naturopath and vega testing. Whilst the staff were lovely, I had always thought that I was a big supporter of alternative medicine but I failed to observe a significant difference in my health. I left post-testing with the bounty of very expensive herbal remedies they have you buy and all the good intentions in the world. When it comes down to it, the key is really to change your lifestyle and adhere to a high protein, wheat free, dairy free, caffeine free, booze free, fun free diet. I can't say I noticed any effects from the herbal remedies and despite being told I was mildly allergic to cashews, I continue to eat them with no discernable ill effects. Maybe I'm just a naughty kid but I did stick to the regime I was given for almost three months aside from the occasional coffee / wine slip up and I'm not convinced I'd bother with a naturopath again.

The rooms are also dimly-lit, even dimmer, as you lay in darkness listening to bird and monkey sounds. I was then told to turn over so my arms and legs could be done, including my head. A towel was placed over my eyes and there was some reiki. I found it very relaxing and left me with a strange feeling of happiness. I'd love to come back and try what else is on the menu.

All the rooms are quite small and cosy, as it was a house, which makes me like the Rundle and Barossa ones a little more as they are slightly more spacious and can accommodate more than 2 people at a time in one room. But my experiences here have been lovely, the therapists are always smiley and friendly, chatting when necessary but also letting me relax. The rule of thumb in these places seems to be that you pay essentially $1 per minute - keeps it simple and you know what you're up for. I can reccommend the head, neck, shoulder and back massages. They will get into your butt cheeks with the back one, but they're all performed fully clothed and oil free so even the modest should feel comfortable. These massages are not for the faint hearted (unless you specify) as there are elbows involved. I also enjoy the akon cleanse - even if just for the gross out factor of seeing how brown your feet can make the water and the foot reflexology seems to genuinely benefit me. Has is an affordable, quick and easy way to take some time out and unwind during your week, I cannot recommend them highly enough!

She obviously knows the body very well and could tell exactly where my tight spots were (not that I imagine that was too hard today!) and she worked them well - even down along referral pain paths which was amazing because I find a lot of therapists don't do that. I went to Linda because she was close to my work and accepts my Bupa health cover (huzzah!) and I'm so glad I did. Apparently she's been in this location for three years but I never realised! I only called up an hour before heading in as well so availability, at least this time around, was pretty good! If you love Eastern style massage and want a massage who obviously has years of knowledge and expertise behind her, I can highly recommend Linda. Plus, her prices are great! $70 for a one hour remedial massage today, of which I get a significant chunk back thanks to Bupa :) Point to note: Linda does not accept cards - make sure you have cash handy! Finding Linda's Massage was as much an accident (literally) as it was pure luck. My feet was all swell up after a day of standing and I had Linda's name card on hand. I called to ask if she could help me with them, quoting ankles sprain as the culprit. But first visit and Linda was able to see through the pain and right into the cause. It was an incredible experience, as I have always known that a good traditional Chinese practitioner would be able to do just that and finally, after the longest time, I finally found one! Needless to say, I have been visiting her weekly for about two weeks now and things have been looking mighty good! The swelling is no longer a problem, and I can stand and run around all day without ever feeling any pain! How cool is that? Anyone who needs a great Chinese massage therapist should consider Linda immediately! And this is coming from someone who has been searching high and low for a good Chinese practitioner for ages!
