My experience with Hera Tech was everything I desired from a Radon company. When searching for a good radon mitigation when trying to sell me home, two companies were recommended to me. Hera-tech won my business with their competitive prices and extremely friendly secretary. Nikhil Rashwatwar came out to give me an estimate and made sure we had complete transparency through this process. He answered all questions I had and made sure I knew exactly what I was paying for. A young man named TJ, accompanied by Nikhil, and Subash came out to install the radon mitigation system. He was very respectful and cleaned up after himself. Afterwards he explained the entire system to me. Subash Rashat, the "Environmental Specialist". Short Story * Before purchasing a house, an independent company tested the radon level in the basement and reported the level as 9 pCi/L. (Anything over 4.0 is when you are supposed to reduce it.) * The sellers hired Hera Tech who installed a system and retested the level at 2.2 pCi/L * The House was purchased. * We immediately retested and found the level was still around 10. * Hera did more work and retested to find the system still not working (7.6) * Hera did still more work and retested to find the system still not working (6.9) * Subash dragged his feet and wanted to drill more holes and run more pipes blindly without doing testing or analysis but after over four months, we had to finally put a stop to the madness. Workers not showing up. Delays. Deceitfulness. Double talk. Guesswork instead of testing. Plastic and duct tape instead of real parts. Plastic sheeting that was supposed to be sealed and was not. Incorrectly installed pipes. All verified by the company who fixed the mess. No wonder it wasn't working even after four months of effort and dozens of phone calls and uncountable hours of my time. How could Hera Tech say their system worked in the first place? We can only surmise. There were even hints we would have to pay additional money to get the system to work even though the warranty says they will fix it at no cost. We finally lost all faith and had enough. A different company took care of the problem in one day after testing and doing it right. Subash and I finally came to an agreement over the phone to let them out of their contract which I wrote up and sent to him. He added a non-disclosure clause and claimed it wasn't. "This matter shall remain confidential and private between all parties concerned" is an NDA although he claimed it wasn't. The public deserves to know about this. I will not be silenced. After months of wondering whether he is just not very good at his job or is intentionally devious, I have come to a very firm conclusion. Soon after the new company ripped out the old system and installed it correctly, the radon level started dropping. The results after a few days was 1.1 pCi/L. I will have it rechecked by the State but am confident the problem has been solved. Be very careful who you hire. read more

Since they had a great experience we decided to give them a shot. Plus they were local! We got to meet Nikhil and his team who were all very professional from the moment we called; up until the job was done. The entire team was very patient and thorough answering all of our questions, explaining their jobs & process step by step, and providing outstanding customer service. Their services were a bit pricey from other ones we looked into, but we invested in them knowing how local they were and hearing how quickly they could get the job done in a timely manner. The purpose of this it to let the world know about the terrible experience my wife and I had with Hera Tech Inc., owned by Subash Rashat. Hera Tech Inc. is located at 1879 Old Cuthbert Rd. Suite 1, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. We hired them to do a septic certification at the home we now own. Hera Tech Inc. sent a technician out to determine if the septic system was in satisfactory working condition. The technician arrived and located an inlet on a septic tank next to the house. His claim was that he could not find the cover to the septic tank because it was under a structure. Also, the technician could not locate the Distribution box or the drain fields. He also claimed that it appeared to be full, and that it needed to be pumped, so he could not certify the septic system. The fee for this service was $395. After speaking to various septic companies on the phone I found out that an inlet always appears to have a high level, and that a septic system should not be pumped, as is cannot be empty to certify. In addition, I was told when a house has an unfinished basement you only have to follow the drainpipe to the wall and the septic system will be very close the other side of that wall. We hired another Septic company to come out and provide a septic certification. This company located two septic tanks, the distribution box and 3 drain fields. There were no obstructions hiding the tanks. They certified the systems satisfactory. I contacted Hera Tech Inc. to ask for a partial refund. It took two weeks to hear back from the owner. During one of my conversations with the owner, Subash Rashat, he agreed to refund the entire amount if another septic company certified the system. In a follow-up conversation he backed out of the agreement after I furnished proof of certification. My justification for a partial if not full refund is that they were unable to locate more than 75% of the entire septic system. I don't feel a 30-minute walk around a property justifies a $350 charge. How can a septic system be evaluated if they were unable to locate it? Although it is unusual to have two working septic tanks, it should have increased the odds of them locating the components. The septic contractor the certified the system had no issues locating the two tanks, distribution box and the drain fields. In summary, I feel that Hera Tech Inc., owned by Subash Rashat, is sending out under qualified technicians to preform septic certifications. Hera Tech Inc. does not take customer satisfaction seriously. We feel that they lack skill and integrity. We feel our money was stolen. read more

Do not use this company!! They were contracted to do a septic and mold inspection of a property. They sent some young teenager, practically, who spent one hour doing the "inspection". Then I had to keep calling for the inspection report. The office girl had to open another email account to send me the report because their "server was down". The main guy there, Sabash, is a total liar. He was supposed to come back and do a follow-up inspection of the septic system, and then he refused after he got paid... There are much better inspection companies out there. Do not use Hera Tech!!!! read more

If I can give them 0 star, I will do it. They hired high school kids for their jobs and it almost burned my house. Details as followings: When we purchased the house, we found we need radon emigration system because my test indicates a slight higher than normal. We hired these guys to do the job. One day, we found our system doesn't work and found that no power supply for the motor after about 4 years. We hire a electrician. The electrician told us that the system was shorted due to incorrect installation for the electrical power. The electrician shown me that the wire was burned and it is fire hazardous. If you can, please avoid this guys. read more

BEWARE and STAY CLEAR of Hera Tech. It's very unfortunate that there are those people and companies that just do people wrong with their dishonesty and unethical behavior. We were done very wrong by this company and all our attempts to have Hera Tech and Dr Subash Rashat return to our home and provide the services that we paid for went unanswered. It's been over 1 year now and we have very limited hope that this company will refund our money for services that were NOT done. So at the very least, I can perhaps save someone else from being ripped off of their hard earned money and alleviate some added aggravation due to this companies unethical business practices. We hired Dr. Subash Rashat and Hera Tech to remediate some mold we had in our crawl space at our Cherry Hill home. We paid to have the initial testing done which found mold under our master shower in the crawl space which was making my wife ill. After the mold was confirmed we then paid Hera Tech $2000 to remediate the mold. Hera Tech then came to the home for what was supposed to be the mold remediation day. Hera Tech left the premises shortly after my wife had to leave and they did absolutely NO mold remediation. At the time Hera Tech came and pretended to remediate our mold, we had no clue what mold remediation entailed, so we thought the work had been done. Not long after their supposed mold removal day, my wife started to become more ill and the strong smell of mold was still present in our bedroom. We placed a personal call to Dr. Subash Rashat who set up an appointment to return and investigate the strong smell of mold. Dr. Rashat (or anyone from Hera Tech) never showed for the appointment. Now we began to do our homework and became a bit suspicious. I had several email correspondence with Sue the secretary at Hera Tech and requested the paperwork for the supposed work at our home and asked why no one showed for our appt. to which she didn't have an answer. All that I received was the lab test results of the mold and the standard "scope of work" that was to be done for the mold remediation. My wife was feeling worse and worse and we could not trust this company any longer with our health. We then hired a very highly accredited, service award winning mold remediation company to come and take a look. It was only then that it was confirmed that absolutely NO mold remediation was done by Hera Tech. The mold was still abundant, the old damp and torn up insulation was still between all the rafters and no sign or trace of any mold killing or preventative chemical was found in the crawl space. This new company took many before and after pictures of what it looked like when they arrived and what it should look like after a successful mold remediation. This company was onsite at our home for 3 straight days. They put vinyl zipper barriers throughout the house isolating where the mold was. They had hazard suits on, big air purifying machines running constantly. They removed bags and bags of all the old mold infested insulation, they vacuumed and brushed out all the house air ducts etc etc. They applied a white mold preventive chemical that coats the entire crawl space and makes it look painted. Had we known then, what we know now, we would have been better prepared. Unfortunately, after researching, we found that there are many others before us that are looking to get a lot more money returned from Hera Tech and Dr. Rashat (a lot more than us), so please do your due diligence and research.
