We did not put hot objects directly on the counter or leave liquid for extended periods of time (more than 2 minutes). We followed the cleaning instructions carefully (only cleaning with soap and water). Still, the sealant failed within 3 weeks and when we alerted them of this, they wanted to charge us money to have the counters redone. It doesn't make sense to use a kitchen sealer than cannot handle a few minutes of water without staining, and then to do it a second time makes less sense. Additionally, if a company does not deliver results, it should not be up to the customer to give them more money when they can't even trust that it will not fail the second time around. In fact, I think the sealant they used made our counters WORSE as we lived at our house for a year and a half, and the stains did not appear as quickly as they did with this new sealer. Also, it's very telling of a company that tries to make excuses instead of working with the costumer to fix their mistake. Extremely disappointed with the work and the response. This is not a trustworthy company as they actually made our countertops worse and are now refusing to fix the issues. We hired this company to refinish and reseal our concrete kitchen countertops. Within three weeks, white rings began appearing underneath ordinary drinking glasses after they had been sitting on the countertop for only a few minutes. When we contacted the company, we were told that this was essentially our fault. The rings were "etching" because we hadn't properly followed instructions. They then told us that the countertops would need to be rehoned and resealed at our expense. We followed the care instructions we were given, including cleaning with soap and water. At no point were we clearly told that normal use of a kitchen counter (I.e. such as placing a glass of water on the countertop) could cause visible damage, or that coasters would essentially be required every time we placed down a drinking glass. Had we been given that information beforehand, we would not have proceeded with the refinishing. What is especially unacceptable is that the company told us the proposed restoration would involve the same process and same type of sealer, while simultaneously telling us we would need to use coasters and prevent liquids from sitting on the surface to avoid the same issue happening again. We understand that concrete is porous and that no sealer is perfect, but a newly refinished kitchen countertop developing visible rings from ordinary use within three weeks is not what we reasonably expected when paying for professional refinishing. We are extremely disappointed with both the work and the company's response. Rather than standing behind the service, the company ultimately maintained that the work was completed properly and that correcting the issue would be our financial responsibility. I cannot recommend this company. If you are considering hiring them, ask very specific questions about how the finished surface can be used and get every limitation and expectation in writing before you pay for the work.
