We had breakfast here this morning on the recommendation of my mom. She said the pancakes remind her of The Kettle. We ordered two pancake stacks and a hash brown casserole. The orders came out exactly as we ordered them, the casserole was cheesy and delightful, and the pancakes still taste like a different time. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and had a great rapport with one of her regulars. She also handled a pickup order and a DoorDash order. Service was important to me because several of the reviews mention less than great service, but that was not our experience. The photo I've included is a painting on the front window. We had breakfast here this past weekend and enjoyed it. I had the hash brown casserole with a biscuit and sausage with a coffee. It was all tasty. They keep all the condiments you could need on the tables. My fiancé had the chicken fried steak and eggs but found the chicken fried steak a bit dry and under seasoned. They also offer German dishes for lunch with other regular lunch dishes. Something that gives the place a mom-and-pop feel was that the restaurant also houses a boutique filled with items from local vendors and they allow local businesses to display their business cards at the front counter. The ambiance was homely, very relaxing and we enjoyed it. Our waitress Janell welcomed us with a smile and was great with the customer service she provided. We ordered the Roscoe and Aunt Tinny, the portions were good and the breakfast was delicious, the waffle had a crunch yet it was soft. We will visit Herb and Earnies again!! Finally made it to Cove and stopped by our first restaurant, Herb & Earnies!! We were pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant! The food was delicious and had that wonderful home cooked feel to it. This will definitely become a staple in our breakfast routine!! They also have a boutique in the back as well which we didn't get to explore but I'm sure we will be frequently flying through here! Our server was also super sweet and attentive too! I have tried lunch here three times now and disappointed each time. First time was a club sandwich. Very little veg and meat and cheese was cold, like right out of the fridge cold. Second, I tried the burger. The patty had been cooked previously and reheated in the microwave and again very skimpy on the veg. Fries were ok, definitely frozen rather than home-made though. Third time was the "Bottomless Salad" which was rusty bagged/prepackaged salad mix, the old school "bacon bits" out of the shaker bottle and store-bought/prepackaged croutons. They were out of boiled eggs. The cucumber was good. There was a sprinkling of prepackaged finely shredded cheese. I added grilled chicken and it lack flavor. They do not make there dressings so again, prepackaged. Lemonade was likely mixed from a powder. I tried one of their desserts, a premade/prepackaged ice box candy bar pie. Just really disappointing.
