Desserts for the day were a Salted caramel bon bon, Strawberry frosted Donut macaron, and Lemon cheesecake petit four. That would be my one critique--it's a bit too sweet and there weren't enough savories. Price-wise, it was $50 per person. I really like that the price is inclusive of taxes, service, and tips. The photos show food at $100 for two people. It was filling, but a very sugary filling. The decor is cute, but some details could have been better. For example, the tea cake tower is black and modern-looking and honestly, not cute or matching. Some light piano music softly playing in the background would have been nice. The customer service is fine. We did street parking and while we came at a rather odd time, we still got a bit of traffic due to construction. Overall, I really enjoyed tea time at Sweet Marie's and would consider coming here again for a special occasion!

The afternoon tea this time was a little fancier and pricier than the last time we came. Unfortunately, we did have to wait quite a while for our food to come out this time as well (they were understaffed and having some issues in the kitchen). Again, do not come here if you're in a rush. The ambience is like you're at grandma's house. It's cute and there is no music, so if there are loud conversations around, it does get somewhat loud easily. My husband was the only man in the entire restaurant (I think he was last time too!) so it's a very woman-centered space. The teacups and placemats are all adorably mismatched. We got the oolong tea and the earl grey with peach, and both were nice and strong brews. When the food finally came out, it was like going to carb heaven. Everything is made from scratch and I loved every single one of the scones (there were plain, lemon, blackberry, and butterscotch oatmeal) served with jam and clotted cream. The little savories were also delicious and we particularly enjoyed the artichoke croustade. The cucumber dill ones were nice palate cleansers. The sweet offerings were all delicious (and mostly fall themed) and the only one that was too sweet for me was the snickerdoodle cupcake with maple frosting. We had to pack up some leftovers because we were absolutely stuffed. I think this is one of the most authentic afternoon tea places I've been to and I would come back.

Why would a regular lie about a stamp card? Then when I redeemed my 10 stamped card for a free boba tea, there was an upcharge of 70 cents from a small to a large. How petty. They are literally selling water in tea bags with tapioca pearls so their material cost is negligible. As a successful business owner seeing these petty upcharges and bad business practices is a shame. Just keep a customer happy, its costs you nothing and they will be loyal paying customers forever. Guess I am going somewhere else for my Boba Tea...
