I went here a few years ago and didn't love it. But I'm glad I tried it again. They have both savory & sweet crepes. I had the Nutella & banana crepe. It was pretty good. Not the best crepe flavor but still decent. I got an iced caramel latte and that was probably the best coffee I've had at a local breakfast joint. It's the kind of place where you line up to order at the register then sit down & wait for your food. We came right at 11am on a Sunday and the place was unusually (according to a friend who goes often) packed. I applaud the 2 workers I saw who got the line down as fast as they could. The woman on the register was also making the coffees/teas and there was one man making all the crepes. One weird thing to note because as a mom, I always like to know: at least one of the bathrooms had a changing table which I appreciate so much. The crepes themselves were ok. the Meli Melo was our favorite that was truly a 5 star crepe but the passionfruit paradise didn't taste like passionfruit at all, tasted solely of almond paste and strawberries. a quaint little hole in the wall experience. this is for the cheese lovers for sure as it is very fresh and very tasty. i got the bastille; ham, cheese, white sauce and mustard. my partner got the vegan crepe, but she's vegetarian so the vegan cheese wasn't her favorite. mine was really good i just think the ratio of cheese to ham was off (much more cheese than ham). i would recommend and plan to come back for the sweet crepes. read more

The display board is so well organized and detailed making it easy to choose (such a simple luxury that I don't see too often). Plus the young man at the counter was so courteous and helpful as I made a pick. I had the gluten free Grandma's favorite crepe with chicken and mushrooms (which is prepared right before you at the separated gf counter) and a cup of hot chocolate. The hot chocolate?! Oh wow! The flavor was amazing and I couldn't taste any extra sugar, making it so naturally delicious. I was so excited to try their chickpea batter. Sadly, the crepe was not it! Might be my selection but although the portion was huge with a great amount of filling, the flavor of all the ingredients was quite a let down. It didn't have any distinct taste and the filling was also very plain. Side note! Going into the washroom, it was very clean and although it wasn't a busy Saturday morning, the whole cafe felt generally spotless. I'd go as far as to say this is one of Worcester's best unknown restaurant. The savory crepes are incredible, I had the weintraub last time and it was delicious. Huge portions, couldn't finish the whole thing in one sitting and so I never got to try the dessert crepes. Otherwise, nice atmosphere, quiet with a little taste of feeling like you've stepped out of Worcester. Service is always fast and everyone working there is polite. This is a charming little cafe and a great addition to the canal district! I love the back story to this restaurant (read it on their website). Although the atmosphere was a little "cold" for the middle of winter, the small cafe is well decorated with attention to detail. There is table seating and bar seating, and you can watch your crepes being made! I had never had a savory crepe before, so I tried one. I learned that I don't really like them! It wasn't the restaurant's fault, but next time I'll be choosing a sweet one to devour. Definitely check this place out and support this local business. read more

Love this hidden gem! My son and I happened upon this place today and stopped in for lunch. How charming the owner and the ambiance are! If you want traditional crepes... go to France. If you want a TRUE RED WHITE AND BLUE Frenchman merging his love for his childhood foods and his love for the USA, this is a place to go. If you love CREPES you won't be disappointed. Tagging along with the Culinary Guild group (https://www.culinaryguild.org/) on a road trip, we sampled 5 savory and 5 sweet crepes and a taste of their Beef Bourguignon (which they sell in "to go" bags, and is everything you want in a traditional French meal!). Some of the former "Chefies" (they worked alongside THE Julia Childs who founded the guild) from the Guild were a bit concerned with the thickness of some of the crepes... but given the fillings, you need some structure to keep it together. My two favorites were the Parisienne, pretty much a ham and cheese sandwich in a crepe, with mushrooms and a TOUCH of tomato sauce giving it a "pizza-y" flavor, and the Grandma's favorite with chicken, bechamel and mushrooms. VERY tasty! It is duly noted that Jean Luc shows restraint and delicate hands in his saucing, so you won't have a dish drowning in bechamel (ok... not that there is anything necessarily WRONG with swimming in a tasty pool of sumptuous deliciousness...). Also on the sampling table were the Viking, a take on avocado toast meets bagel with lox. I have to say, I think the concept is better than the delivery for this one. Not my favorite. And I LOVE SMOKED SALMON! The Weintraub is a Frenched version of a pastrami sandwich, also not a fan, but my pastrami lovers were in favor of the combinations. The Spanish Monster is full of flavor and cuts of meats, but it was a bit overwhelming for me. The gentlemen in the group really enjoyed it - it is a hardier and more flavorful cousin to the rest of the line up. I personally will repeat the Parisian or the Grandma's favorite. Something about the combinations just made it better. By the time the sweets came around, after sampling their menu of options, we were ready to pass out. But OK, we went for it. My sons would kill for all the Nutella confections but for me, the simplicity of a delicately THIN crepe with jam, was more than enough. I thought I would love the Sweet Caroline, with apples and cinnamon, but it was too sweet and I was too full! Also, I don't think you want to put canned whipped cream on a hot crepe. Fresh WC on the side would be better, but if you can it, put it on the side. Ask for it on the side, you will thank me (unless you are okey dokey with melted watery whipped cream that will mush the crepe). And SERIOUSLY, you can't go wrong with any of the Nutella. I think I was just so full, I couldn't see through my reading glasses to enjoy more bites! (Lord KNOWS I am a big eater, but this was truly a gluttony fest!). It's Worcester people. Don't expect glam. Yet this little and immaculate piece of a cafe on Water Street delivers a tinge of sophistication simply and deliciously. The French Roast coffee is delightful and his super delicate macarons are a lovely touch to the end of a meal. Jean Luc, the owner is a champion running cooking marathons with pride. Impeccable service, super clean and delicious. I disagree with one of the yelpers - YES the crepe with heavier ingredients has to be thicker than your delicate filling/dessert crepes. Ever tried to make one NV? And put a chunk of mushroom and have it NOT break? It's not a tortilla, girl. PS, my cappuccino was PERFECT, no different than what I have had in Monmarte or Reims (both in France, BTW) or in Rome or San Gimignano (Both in Italy BTW). If you are expecting SPECTACULAR, don't come here. It is a reasonably priced cafe with good food, and impeccable service. GREAT COFFEE! read more

We recently visited the cafe and enjoyed a terrific brunch! There were so many great choices on the menu but I decided to go with the Fat Elvis (Nutella peanut butter banana and bacon with a drizzle of honey over the crepé) and my boyfriend had the Mighty Rooster (savory chicken red peppers mushrooms time and a yummy sauce called bélchamel). The crepés were served hot. The texture was superb. Each bite had the yummy filling! I can't wait to return to try a savory crepé. Only one gentleman behind the glass, whipping out crepes like nobody's business; My husband and I had the Viking and a strawberry Nutella crêpe - both delicious, flavorful and light. Housed within the old Weintraub's Deli, this place pays homage to the old standby with a number of photos/paintings - a nice tip of the beret to Worcester's history. Ok. Let me start out by saying before I came here, I have never had a crepe in my life. But I have passed here several times and even seen the owner on tv a few times so I finally decided to give it a shot. First of all the service is outstanding. The owner is from France and takes pride in his work and is very friendly. Their COVID 19 protocols are top notch. I always thought a crepe was like a breakfast pancake or something but boy was I wrong. I came for lunch and got the "my grandma's" crepe which was with chicken, mushrooms, thyme, and bechamel sauce (don't know what this sauce is but it's delicious). Lol. Let me tell you, my taste buds had a party and it was super filling. I had to roll myself outta there. Lol They also have more savory options such as steak n cheese, ham n cheese and they have a vegan and sweet crepe menu as well. They have something for all taste buds. I've been here 3 times and they never disappoint. I wake up on the weekend craving food from here. I've only had the savory crepes so far - Bastille, Parisian and Spanish Monster.
