My partner and I went for brunch. I got a pot of stress less ashwagandha tea, home fries, and a veggie delight sandwich and we split a blueberry ginger scone and a lemon curd pop tart. The tea flavor was warm and autumnal/wintery, the home fries and sandwich were absolutely delicious, and the scone and pop tart were light and delightful. We took home leftover food and tea in provided compostable take out boxes. The service was prompt, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I'm so glad this amazing establishment is back under new ownership. Nirvana is one of my favorite cafes in the area. I was so sad to hear that they abruptly closed but thrilled to hear they were reopening under new ownership. I went this past weekend and was a bit disappointed. The service, despite not being all that crowded, was incredibly slow. This was an issue before under the previous owners but I was hoping the new owners might resolve this. It first took about 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that I was waiting for a table despite the fact that there were a couple tables open, and then perhaps another 15 minutes after being seated to receive menus, and then nearly an hour to get our food: one wrap and one sandwich. They were also out of our first choice items - the tofu scramble and the potatoes, which are two of their few breakfast items. Again, Nirvana would often run out of these under the previous owners, but I was hoping this wouldn't be an issue. This cafe isn't new and by now they should be able to measure and anticipate their demand for their menu items. We were appreciative that our meal was comped given the long wait, but I am hopeful that the new owners can figure this out because there are a number of reviews highlighting these same issues. read more

Was in the area. Saw the reviews and thought that we'd give this place a try. From the moment that we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Furthermore, they were very educated on their teas and temperatures. Kai, our waiter was phenomenal. He was very friendly and accommodating to our questions/requests. The food was fair and took a little while to arrive at the table. The temperature of the food was a little a all over the place. So fresh, unprocessed pure vegan bliss. We enjoyed my mom's favorite the Kamala Masala and I absolutely love the Winter Stew! All vegan and many dishes naturally gluten free. There are so many great selections of tea and absolutely beautiful. And a wide range of pastries and treats. I always try and get the cinnamon roll. I don't want this review to be overly negative, as I really enjoyed my visit to Nirvana, and I desperately want vegan places like this to thrive. However, the place was extremely quiet yet the service was unbelievably slow. We had to seek out someone to seat us, to get menus, and to take our order. The staff were wonderfully kind and pleasant - just not attentive. The food wasn't great, the pancakes were stodgy, gummy, and flavorless and the cashew cream on top was lacking any flavor, sweetness, and creaminess. In contrast, the strawberries were fresh, and the home fries were delicious and well seasoned. The tea, of course, was lovely! I took home two items from the bakery case, both were ok, but not great. Cakey items (cake and muffin) were very heavy, dense, and not quite sweet enough, very similar to the pancakes. They seemed freshly made and looked beautiful, so it may just be a matter of taste on the texture and sweetness. I've certainly had vegan treats that were similar elsewhere. I really liked the atmosphere, menu, and of course the plant-based offerings. I drove an hour to visit, and I do hope to return again and try more of the savory dishes. read more

A great cafe in the Medway area! I have now been here a couple of times and have enjoyed my experience each time. They have an extensive menu, with a lot of options for vegan and gluten-free accommodations, which is a plus! I personally love the Bhutani bowl and the baba buddha wrap for food items. (There is a gluten-free option for the wrap.) This fall, I have also loved the lentil soup with the cornbread. Absolutely delicious. My go-to beverage here is the salted caramel oat milk cold brew. It is so good! A perfect balance of sweetness and it just hits the spot! There is some indoor seating, but not too many tables especially during a rush period. I also recommend ordering online if you plan to pick-up food since that will definitely take a bit of time if ordering in-person and there isn't a lot of place to wait around for pick-up orders. I have always had a pleasant experience ordering and had nothing but positive vibes from the baristas and servers. I always feel valued and appreciated when I am there. The food can be a bit pricey (or definitely seem up there compared to similar places), but it is really good, so you know you're getting quality ingredients and a quality meal. A lovely bonus! I just sat down to write this after the most relaxing morning at Nirvana. I decided to switch up my normal routine and try something healthier for breakfast, and oh my goodness I've found my new routine. Servers were friendly and food tasted fresh. The strawberry serenity was creamy, chewy, and not too sweet, with the strawberry being perfectly tart. I've been coming to nirvana for months now and need to give credit where credits due! I come here for my protein shakes because they use organic protein but ALL the food is SO beautiful, fresh and delicious it's hard to resist and I highly recommend trying everything; there's something for everyone. The ambiance alone will have you leaving feeling more serene and peaceful (they even have a table where you're encouraged to take your shoes off). The service is incredibly warm and I love that they minimize their plastic use, as well (but practically = no paper straws ). From the menu, to the service, to the setting, this place is far more than just tea but a blissful reprieve from our face paced modern world and it's evident throughout the entire experience. I communicated with the owner of this restaurant and felt very uncomfortable with his responses and the way he communicated with me. I did get a great positive kind communication from the cashier the person who was cooking the meals, and the other employees who were not the owner of this restaurant. My suggestion is this restaurant needs a new owner that appreciates the people that help his buisness operate. His lack of understanding and empathy towards the cashiers and waiter/waitress that are taking numerous orders, serving the cooked food to them, and the lack of empathy this owner has towards the cook's cooking all numerous orders and adjusting orders was offensive to witness. Also I witnessed how these waiters/waitresses/cooks/cashiers/communicating with all the customers and how they were all kind, and patient with the customers, making sure they order what they need and making sure it gets done on time that about this restaurant was what made the restaurant a great experience for me. I felt valued and appreciated for those people doing all the work and labor. The lack of the owner of this restaurant fully understanding the waitress/waiter/cashier/and cooks really made the experience of being at this restaurant disheartening and upsetting. I definitely suggest finding a different owner that is more pleasant and understanding of his employees that keep his building running with amazing reviews, or I suggest that staff walk away and find a better owner that values and acknowledges their amazing works and talents. The cooks are talented and kind here, the cashiers and waiters and waitresses also are kind and great communicators that values and appreciates their amazing work as well. read more

My husband has been vegan-leaning for a year now and he was getting bored with his options so I thought it would be fun to have lunch here. It was perfect- so many delightful unusual offerings that revived his excitement about vegan eating. The interior was so adorable and inviting but it was a sunny warm November and we decided to eat on the patio space -basically in a corner of the parking lot- but nice. Chairs are metal and I wished they had cushions but we were warm enough. I tried Golden Milk which I had been meaning to try and it was really really good- very complex flavors in one drink and great for inflammation and circulation. I had the butternut curry soup and the Lentil Love salad which had such a yummy assortment of flavors. The servings are generous so I was able to take half home. My husband enjoyed a coconut chai tea and an avocado toast called "compassionate caprese" with the Fall Fiesta salad. There was a creamy dressing on it that pulled all the flavors together. It is such a sweet business with a wellness center connected to it with fun gift shop. In lieu of gratituity- they ask you to donate cash to charity of your choice- they have boxes by the cashier. The tahini avocado toast was an interesting twist I never tried before. I got the lentil bowl and the quinoa bowl as well and they were nice. Great mix of veggies - purple cabbage, edamame, carrots, celery, spinach, arugula, tomatoes. Def feels like a balanced meal. Would love if they offered tofu but nbd. The sweet potato I added on tastes delicious - idk how they seasoned it but it's great. The sweet mango rice is nice but just know it's not sticky rice like at Thai places. I don't mind that since the sticky rice is even more starchy and unhealthy, but I think because this rice was drier, less is needed for the dish. I got the masala chai latte and that is tasty. Love that they give you multiple sweetness options including unsweetened. I've tried most of their desserts and they are all delicious. I'm not sure if they are vegan or not but it didn't taste like anything was compromised. And they had such complex flavor profiles I love it.
