They are only open by appointment on selected days prior to auction. If you happen to go visit during these hours, the door will be open and you will be greeted by someone who will insist that auctions work differently, despite the fact that they have consigned items for retail. Most auction houses I have been to generally clearly list the days they are open for preview and do not indicate they are open for business at other times.

We weren't aware but an appointment is desired by phone or email. Luckily the owner was there and let us take a peak. It really is cool! WW II, Vietnam, OIF/OEF items. The boys were very respectful of the items and enjoyed snooping around. What made my heart melt is that the owner gave my son a WW II book and even my youngest a book on D Day. This sweet gesture made their day! They both snuggled up with Grandpa to read their books this evening. I highly recommend popping in.
