They are a blast from the past, as some of the better ones are mixed use. This one has a Dairy Queen, Walgreens, and United States Post Office. On the side closer to Braddock Road is Anita's and 711. These do serve a purpose. Getting in and out of here can be tricky. It gets congested on Port Royal Road, along with its convenience to the beltway exits. Some consider this helpful, I'm not so sure it is. Thank you to the company that owns this, as it looks better than it used to. That alone is a bonus. It works for basic purposes, so I'll give it a recommendation. Certainly it's not exciting or mind blowing, but it's a practical place to go.

There's a hair cutter, a karate establishment, and the H Mart is pretty cool. They aren't as price wise competitive as they once were. Such is life. I'm looking forward to trying the Central American bar. This mall is showing its age. Parking is plentiful. Getting in and out of here can be exciting. Burke Road has a lot of speeding and traffic volume. Please be patient and safe. I hope they update this, or turn it into a mixed used spot like Mosaic. Until then it works for basics.

That is one of our favorites, but there are other businesses and restaurants here, too. I'll mention Margarita's Grill Mexican restaurant and the H Mart grocery store as business we have also patronized. A Sunoco gas station is on a corner of the property as is a free-standing combined KFC and Taco Bell. The shopping center is in two parts, divided by the Burke Lake Road overpass. On the other side are an Enterprise car rental, Duk Wo (Asian Fusion) and Buffa's Dance Studio, among other businesses. The shopping center is very accessible from Burke Lake Road and Burke Road from West Springfield.

We think this might be where the old Springfield Mall was but it's definitely more developed with restaurants, stores and a movie theater. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many families out, especially on a cold Friday evening. We got our steps in and checked out a few shops but didn't buy anything. Between the chain retail stores there were a few ethnic stores featuring traditional clothing. There's also a massive Target attached to the main building. Anyway, seems like a decent place to go shopping or to dine out.

Each mall is unique and hold some one of a kind spots inside them. This location has just that. We showed up here early in the day because we had a reservation for one of the businesses inside. We walked in and were greeted by a wide open feel and grand staircase. My god, I sound like I'm describing a mansion or hotel, not a mall. Being my first time here, I had to check out the directory to make sure where things were. It's not that huge of a mall, so finding things were easy. We first needed to use the facilities. There were nearly immaculate, which I was surprised by. Going around the mall was easy, it flowed well. I will have to stop back another time to actually enjoy myself in more of the stores.

That's on the right side, and parking besides it is your best chance. The lack of spaces compared to density, can lead to some time finding a place for your ride. Then again being where it is, that's not a surprise. If you're in the area it's fine for basic purposes.

Kings Park shopping center has been around for years. They have a decent range of shops including:…read moreGiant, a nail salon, a barber, a dry cleaners, Dominos, a martial arts school, and a CVS. There are some restaurants: Hunan West, Subway, Peets Coffee, McDonalds, and Il Giardinos Italian (amazing food!!!) And oddly, there is a kitchen remodel shop. With this variety of shops, you can get a lot of your tasks checked off. While I really like the shops, there are a few things I don't really like. The parking lot gets very crowded, especially in the dinner hour. Entry and exits are difficult and few. Because it is difficult to exit, drivers are really aggressive and there are quite a few accidents. There is no light to help so be careful! My favorite things about this shopping center are that they have several local, non-chain restaurants which is becoming a rarity in this area.

All who own these types of shopping centers, go for your look via their architecture as it's simple yet more refined. Parking in here can be a struggle though. That's because a lot of people are in the West Springfield area, which seems to be a hot spot for the yuppies of the region. There's a Whole Foods or "Paycheck" here, and also some yoga and massage type of establishments. On a plus note love the Planet Fitness. It's one of the best in the chain. Also the Starbucks and Walgreens are convenient for the basics. The BGR burger restaurant really doesn't do anything for me, because there are so many competitors, and it just is rather bland and like the others. You may have some issues with traffic, as Old Keene Mill and Rolling Road can be cantankerous. Yet this shopping center serves a purpose, and I'll give it three stars, an average rating.

Yes it serves a purpose, but a lot of stores here aren't all that super. Are there other strip malls like this? Absolutely. Taco Bell does good business. As for traffic, definitely be prepared for defensive driving. A lot of parking spot cutting seems to be a trend. Also I don't like leaving 236 from here, as the congestion and lights set up isn't helpful with moving vehicles. I wish the development could offer more. Yes there's a few restaurants and a laundromat. For me that means don't need to go here. Maybe others view it more favorably.

It's middle ground, and the size is substantial. Parking is usually a cinch. That alone is helpful, as some of these in northern Virginia can be headache inducing. There's a fair amount of choices here. In addition to the most amazing gym in the area, there's a Tropical Smoothie, Anita's, IHOP, Ross, Dollar Tree, Petco, and a few other places. This isn't going to knock you over with its selection. Yet you can get some low cost groceries at Lidl, or maybe get a new car battery at the Advanced Auto store. If you're in the area it works.
