His website claims that he will represent clients to the IRS and resolve tax issues - none of which he did for me - even though he had no problem cashing my check for his fee. First, he failed to file my 2012 tax return - the job I paid him to do. Then, he refused to work with me to pay the $600 'failure to file' penalty! He avoided my phone calls and refused to return e-mail - what a cheap hustler! DO NOT USE THIS GUY!

I've been with this bank for almost 20 years. It used to be a really great hometown bank, very…read morepersonal, they all knew your name and it was easy to get a small business loan with a great interest rate...but now it's like Wells Fargo or Capital One. Scripted replies, customer service definitely not what it used to be. High interest rates on car loans and mortgages, no matter your credit rating or how long you've been with them, almost predatory, makes you shop elsewhere with much lower interest rates. Long holds on check deposits now when checks used to clear in less than 24 hours (same employer for two decades) and always a few hundred released immediately...now, not even that. I have impeccable credit with them and a very high credit rating in general. Never overdraft. Watch my account like a hawk. Used to have a credit card with them too but the rates kept going up and offers & credit increases required pulls or a review, so closed the credit card account and got a credit card with much better interest rates through a different bank, where the limit automatically increases like clockwork, no fuss no muss. Anyway, this is not HomeTrust anymore. I may close my accounts with them...all in good standing. Personally, I think this is a phenomenon true of most all of the banks now, even credit unions. They've figured out how to make the maximum profit with the least service...down to the penny. The customer is made to feel irrelevant now. There only seems to be one good agent anymore at Hometrust, her name is Alexandria at the Asheville branch, all the good ones have moved on. If you get her, you are a fortunate soul.

Many bad relationships start off great. This one did…read more A considerate person referred me to United Federal Credit Union. We were both jazzed about the $50 referral bonus for new accounts and I had opened two. Full disclosure: I was given a small flashlight with logo. In about a week, the flashlight switch broke. Cheap, defective, oh well. That referral bonus? 90-days later, it hadn't happened. Unmentioned was the "Fine Print". sigh. Mobile deposits were offered and important to me. But, not today. More small type...didn't make the cut. grrrrr. Time to quit, cash out and close the account. Ah but no, not that either. Huh??? The Branch Manager proudly and on two occasions, refused to return in cash what I'd deposited. It was a "bank holiday" just for me - no assistance, no options, just a check made to the business whose account they'd just closed and a refusal to cash that check. He did suggest I deposit it...somewhere. (bwaaa-haaa-haaa.) NCUA couldn't believe what happened, but said UFCU wasn't a member. A Customer Service Rep. at UFCU's St. Joseph, MI headquarters and two disbelieving supervisors, offered a sure-fire "workaround". Anyone at the branch could have offered the same. Yep, the "workaround" worked. I walked out with cash and a useless check to my business for $5. But seriously, who benefitted? This experience is also echoed in 16 current BBB complaints. Wish I'd read them first!

Their card services unfortunately are terribly wanting. Sitting now on my 10th day waiting for a new debit card. Was originally told 3 to 7 days ok. Now being told could be up to 14 days. This is just unacceptable. Since my loan is there will keep a small amount in the bank to cover the automatic withdrawal each month and take my money and business elsewhere.

This bank employee allowed one of their customers to fraudulently use his card to steal money from…read moreus by disputing a lease violation we collected for an unauthorized pet. Even after we submitted his signed lease agreement, video evidence and his own communications of his lease violation in our Stripe dispute the bank employee still gave him the money back!! This is blatant fraud and we will now have to sue the customer to get the the damages back. We will no longer accept cards from your bank due to this for any of your customers.
