Residents are routinely awakened at 5AM for bathing and dressing and then told to lay on top of their covers until 730AM breakfast call, due to staff shortages. Prescriptions are taken over by the facility and padded to make a profit, such as loading seniors with iron and then prescribing huge doses of laxatives causing explosive diarrhea, so they can charge for more bathing and care. My dog received better care at a boarding facility than seniors receive at this hell hole. Your bill will jump from $4000 a month to $7000 in no time and for no service, just the torture of your loved one. This a a text book example of everything wrong with the treatment of seniors in this country and our healthcare system, all rolled in to one seething stinking hot mess. If you love your family - DO NOT GO NEAR THIS AWFUL PLACE.

Payment is $35. per hour. We started with this agency two weeks ago and were assigned two caregivers -- one on Mon/Fri and another (a male) on Wed. One caregiver has been with Home Instead for 14 years! Both caregivers are excellent: attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful. It is evident that they have received much training. They have a patient notebook to record what happens during each visit. It is professional looking in design and function. It includes complete contact information with the agency to modify visits/schedule if needed. Home Instead is very organized; it has been around for 25 years and has an office in Schenectady. They followup with calls and questionnaires to keep track of how the caregivers are working out. Having a dr. not know something and have them Google it in front of you is just depressing. at least leave the room. tests ordered never get done. and good luck actually calling and talking to a dr or even a nurse. take this review as you will. this is just one mans opinion
