    General Manager

I am writing to formally express my awareness to consumers regarding my concerns on the purchase of my 2022 Mercedes C300 I recently purchased from Mazda Towson on 2/13/26. Within approximately two hours of purchasing the vehicle, I took it through a car wash and immediately discovered that the sunroof was leaking a substantial amount of water into the interior cabin of the car. I promptly reported this issue to the sales manager, "Dwight", and inquired about their 30-day/1,000-mile warranty on used vehicles. He advised that I could bring the vehicle back so the sunroof seal could be sprayed or treated with rejuvenating foam to see if that would correct the issue. However, I live roughly 2 1/2 hours away from their dealership, making this option impractical. I explained that this defect required immediate attention because water intrusion near the center dash could damage sensitive electronic components, especially during inclement weather. Because of the urgency, I took the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Fredericksburg, VA,which is only about 20 minutes from my home. They diagnosed and repaired the issue for only $230.00 dollars. I then contacted the general manager, David Dowd, to request reimbursement for what should reasonably have been the dealership's responsibility, given that the defect was discovered almost immediately after purchase. I provided an explanation and proof of payment from Mercedes Benz of Fredericksburg, VA. Initially, I received no response from the General manager "Mr Dowd" . After following up with Dwight, I finally received a reply from (general manager) Mr. Dowd indicating that the dealership would not reimburse the repair cost. I find this response extremely disappointing. I had not even made it home from the dealership before discovering a mechanical issue, yet the dealership is unwilling to cover a modest repair cost tied directly to a pre-existing defect. When I arrived at the dealership to see the vehicle, I inquired if the vehicle had been detailed as I requested, and the manager "Dwight " stated that the detailer was not skilled enough to polish the vehicle and that they did not have anyone there to do it. he further stated that he worked on Mercedes vehicle and that he had done some of the repairs since they don't have a tech which would explain the reasoning as to why the sunroof was altered and the track had to be realigned by a professional technician as explained by Mercedes Benz Of Fredericksburg, VA. Additionally, I have contacted the dealership multiple times regarding the second key that was promised to me in writing on an IOU at the time of purchase. I have received no response to my emails, and my calls and voicemails are now going unanswered. I would also like to note my dissatisfaction with the overall customer experience. I was told the vehicle would be filled with gas, yet it was delivered with only half a tank. I was informed that this is their policy for used vehicles, which was ridiculous and disappointing, especially given the overall purchase price of approximately $26,000 dollars for the vehicle. Apparently, as stipulated by a sales representative Tyler Leah, they only fill up vehicles purchased thatare brand new. ‍ For comparison, the vehicle I traded in was a certified vehicle from Mercedes-Benz of Chantilly, VA,and had no mechanical issues and the car was filled up with gas like a respectable dealer would do. To experience a significant defect within the first hour of ownership, followed by difficulty obtaining responses from dealership management after the finalized purchase has been extremely frustrating and shows the level of ignorance and unprofessionalism I was dealing with. When they were trying to sell the car I couldn't get them to stop calling and inquiring if I were interested now they completely ignore a customer spending a significant amount of money. I'm a US army Disabled Vet and medically retired LEO and should not have been treated this way. Especially for this amount of money. I DO NOT recommend this business ANYONE!

I had a pretty good experience here. I purchased an older used car here at the end of August and everything was relatively smooth. I didn't receive the Carfax and they didn't immediately fix the Spare tire but ultimately both were resolved. I really liked my sales person, Ehsan, he was good and everyone was very pleasant and very nice. My only real downside was some of the dealership tactics and the price of the vehicle was wayyy overpriced for the year. Definitely recommend negotiating as aggressively as you can, these cars are not worth the price tag many times unfortunately. So far my car has not had any issues, so I would recommend them.

James was friendly, professional, and upfront with me the whole way through. It came down to the Honda HRV LX and the Honda HRV Sport (just a slightly fancier trim). When it came time to compare the out the door costs, I was pleasantly surprised with the numbers. Pretty much everything from the selling price to the doc fee to the state fees was right where I expected it to be. Even the money factor they gave me was acceptable to me based on my credit. This was after I had already looked at OTD costs for a Toyota RAV4 down the street and the numbers they gave me were totally inflated and the entire conversation consisted of so much back and forth between the salesperson and the manager. It took hours and I ended up walking away. At Honda, I told James I fully expected to have to put up a fight but he assured me they did all they could to get everything as low as possible from the start so there was no need for time-wasting back and forth. And based on my EXTENSIVE market research about this car, the numbers checked out and it seemed like a fair price. I know most of the negative reviews on here are regarding the service center which I can't speak to (yet) but if you are in the market for a new car, I can't recommend Honda and James enough. Thanks to the entire team here who made this experience easy and stress-free!

To be fair, my experience at Bill Kidd's could very well be a fluke too judging by the other positive reviews on here. So take what you will from this review and hopefully you have a better experience than me! I came in to have a routine oil change and the check engine light diagnosed. What was supposed to be a one hour visit, turned into almost two hours. In the end, I was quoted almost 3k to replace the front brakes/rotors, back brakes, replace the oxygen sensor in the engine, and fix the back brake light. Sheesh! I know my car is old, but almost 3k? I asked to just go through with the oil change and have the back brake light fixed before jumping to complete the rest of the recommendations. I walked out paying about $300 and half of that was just for them to diagnose the check engine light. Afterwards, I realized they didn't actually fix the back brake light either... The trouble is, the receipt they give you is like trying to interpret Egyptian hieroglyphics. They list out every single thing they recommended, the cost, and lump all the other services they *say* they did that day in the same list. From this list, it's hard to tell what service was simply recommended and what service was actually performed. Ultimately, I chose to go to a different auto shop down the street who didn't charge me a penny to diagnose the check engine light. I ended up paying half of what Bill Kidd's estimated for the same services (for reference, Bill Kidd's estimated fixing the oxygen sensor for around $600 and the other place did it for $370). Plus, it didn't take nearly as long.
