Heritage Park is a not-so-hidden gem that somehow only the very-locals make their way there, even though it is steps away from the ever-so-popular Marina Park. This park is behind the Heritage Hall with easy walking paths for a stroll, see the water from a distance, walk the dog, and/or play tennis. They have two tennis courts (see photo). During springtime, they have several cherry blossom trees that bloom beautifully. Parking is plentiful by the street or use their small lot (see photo). I usually am walking over from downtown to extend my walking distance. There are two benches to enjoy the water view. There are no official children's play area, though there are some natural stones for climbing in a separated area (see photo). This park is simple, immensely peaceful, and a great place to just chill. read more

Cute green space park within Kirkland to walk along or take your dog to go for a run. Nice views of the water and some tennis courts on one end with some beautiful flowers near Heritage Hall. The park has several lots to park along and a few minutes walk from the Marina Park pavilion and nearby coffee shops and stores on Central Way. read more

Heritage Park is a great open space park that boasts lots of flowers, however you miss out on the gorgeous view since the blackberry vines need to be cut back. The honey and I dropped in on one of our walks and while we enjoyed the greenery, it's just not a well developed park - I would guess it's mainly used for dog exercise and lounging on a blanket with a book. Overall, it's easy enough to walk through and move on to the next park. read more

In one of my walks and picture taking adventures, I was on my way to the Kirkland Marina and stopped by Heritage park. Beautiful Park! Wide open spaces for laying in the sun, reading a book, having a picnic. Dogs of all kinds walk with their owners along a nice path. Views of Lake Washington are beautiful with shots of the seattle skyline visable in the distance. Things to know: -Lots of parking available -no public bathrooms available -picnic tables scattered all over the park allows for a nice secluded lunch with a view of the lake -good path leads down to marina I will be back with a good book, a lunch and some ice tea to enjoy an afternoon. read more

Very nice open space park for a leisure walk or jog. It's small with a nice view of the water - perfect for a quick walk with the pup. There is a decent sized parking lot which I'm sure fills quickly on the weekend. It's in close proximity to another green space with water views as well as restaurants and coffee shops. read more

This is defiantly a great little park in Kirkland. It's wide open with a big grassy field to throw a frisbie or football around or just to sit and relax. On the outer perimeter there are plenty of benches and picnic tables if you want to sit and enjoy a nice lunch, or even read a book. On the western edge of the park it is lined with trees and you can get some views of Lake Washington throught the trees. The few times I have been here, it's been very quiet and there hasn't been a lot of people out enjoying it. There has always been plenty of open parking and the parking lot is a desent size for the size of the park. Downtown Kirkland and the waterfront are just a short little walk from the park. Next to the park is Heritage Hall, which is a beautiful old looking hall that you can rent out for events. There are no restrooms located in the park, so if you have to you will either have to walk to Starbucks or one of the local shops or walk to the waterfront, there is one located there. read more

This is my favorite park in Kirkland. There isn't much to it, but I love that its usually quiet and less populated, which makes for a great place to read and lay out in the sun since no one is around. It's walking distance to the downtown area, and parking can be found around the nearby neighborhood or along the street. I also like that this park is by the water, for the scenic view. There is a large grass area where I go to read and lay out, and a few benches that overlook to Seattle along the path. There's also a small garden area with a walking trail and benches there too. It seems to serve more for the nearby neighborhood than the downtown crowd. Just know that there aren't any public restrooms here, but fortunately the location isn't far from the business centre. It's a nice, neighborhood park that is often quiet and peaceful. read more

The other day my boyfriend and I decided to drive down to Kirkland and just explore the city for the day. Kirkland is one of the quiet places you can go to get away from the usual busyness eye sores of Seattle. Heritage Park is a beautiful recreational addition to the city. It offers amazing views of the water, along with glittering forests of trees and nice clear walkways. Its a great place to bring the dog for a walk, play some tennis, let the kids run around or just go for a stroll. The Heritage Building is a lovely white historical building with giant pillars guarding the front entrance. Its surrounded by a little opening as well as a beautiful garden. Its filled with glorious flowers in bounty of all different colors. Its really a glorious park to adventure through. I had a lovely evening spent there and would most definitely return again, this time with a picnic packed! read more

The single best thing about this park is the pure, unadulterated open space. That it is hardly ever in any way crowded, has ample parking access, picnic tables spread out enough from each other, and gorgeous views out onto the water are all on it's plus side. There are not public bathrooms at this particular park, though, FYI. There are however at the Marina and at Waverly, which as the crow walks, Heritage falls in between. read more

Heritage Park has great open space park. There is a pretty good amount of parking in the parking lot, is great for a nice little jog/walk, there are water views, a nice open space grass field, and a nice quiet park. It's also fairly close to some restaurants too. Would recommend. read more

This past weekend I had some free time, so I decided to get off my butt and head out to bask in the warm rays of the June sun. Heritage has plenty of parking for both cars and trailers (for the boat launch at the marina), and plenty of lawn for kids to run around like crazy. I chose to sit quietly on a bench overlooking a trail and the shimmering waters of Lake Washington. It was peaceful and beautiful and I could probably have stayed there for hours on end. This would be a great location for a picnic, or a place to bring your rugrats when you're tired of them sitting inside watching TV. read more

My favorite park in Kirkland! Just an expanse of wonderfully soft, green grass with a walking path around the perimeter and views of Lake Washington through the pines that border the western edge. It's the perfect spot for lazily reading in the grass, picnicking, playing croquet, or just relaxing. Never crowded and less frequented than the waterfront parks along Lake Street, you can always find some solitude here. I've stopped by almost every day this summer to stroll, daydream, or polish off a novel. read more

Oooo I love this park! Even though I've only walked around once. Maybe twice. We played frisbee on the lawn. Spacious. It was a nice, sunny afternoon. Not too busy. Parking was okay. We had our dog with us. A few others were around. Everyone was friendly. I like the path that goes along the park on both the water side and the parking lot side. There are some tennis courts. Some climby rock things (didn't know exactly what they were, but we climbed on them). Lovely view of the water. Relaxing place :) read more

Heritage Park is a lovely place to go for a leisurely walk. It gives you a great view of the water, there's plenty of places to sit and take in the beauty of Lake Washington, and it's a great spot to watch the fireworks come 4th of July. It's very well kept and has multiple paths to interchange with, so you're not stuck walking the same trip each time (unless that's what you're going for!) It's a great spot to get your exercise in, without feeling like you're overdoing it. read more
