Extremely clean and manicured, family friendly park with a large play structure, shaded gazebo with grills, bench seating, beach volleyball sand pits, and well-maintained bathrooms. Great walking areas. Parking is plentiful. The waterfront views are spectacular and the water is calm. While it's not clean enough to swim in, it's perfect for paddle boarding or even light kayaking. I wish we had this kind of park where we live. read more

I'd say the water is mostly kid friendly. It's quite shallow. They have life guard on duty. There is couple of beach volleyball and multiple barbecue spot that tends to get crowded. There is a rental place for paddle board or kayak for 1hr or 2hrs. They have single or tandem. Paddle board single 2hrs is at $49 and you can get the same price for 1hr tandem (as of July 2024). They have shelf to leave your stuff if you're renting their paddle boards. They also sell ice cream and drinks. There is a place to rince off and bathroom were clean. The water was nice but it had some algues the day I came here. read more

Very nice park, but check the water safety first! Due to its location on the lake and shallow water, this park gets frequent toxic algae blooms. Be sure to check the water safety on the king county website before you go! They do not have life guards on duty if there is a toxic bloom, so that's a red flag if you get there and haven't checked. Amenities are good with on site life jackets, a little store with supplies and ice cream, bathrooms, and paddle board rentals. A beach this sandy is rare in Washington, so it's great for kids and even just waking the beach. There is a nice boardwalk too if you want to go out over the lake. read more

The water access for mobility challenged people for the purpose of actually being to get into the lake is poor. A paved pathway to the water with a pipe railing on one side is very much needed to allow handy-capped people to get to the water with floatation devices to enjoy the bay. This is also necessary to be able to get close enough for easier egress from the water back to their scooters or other mobility device. It is not so difficult to float , paddle or swim if you can get close to the water to get in and out! I don't mean via the children's swimming area. read more

Juanita Beach Park is an incredibly over-crowded and busy "beach" area. Although the Juanita 'Bay' Park park is beautiful and serene, the Juanita 'Beach' Park is literally like visiting a local public pool. Far too many kids, not that clean, and with a ton of noise. We quickly walked through and called it a day. read more

When folks think of the park in Juanita, this is usually the first one that comes into mind, the Beach Park over the Bay Park. At the Beach Park, there is a tennis court, a brand new playground that just opened in Dec 2020, and a beach that has some resemblance to a beach complete with sand. Normally, there is an area with picnic tables that can be reserved, but that's on hold during COVID. My favorite thing to do is simply walking the area. The Juanita Beach Park is very near the Juanita Bay Park, though sadly, not connected. You need to walk on the street for a stretch before reach one from the other. Be sure to walk along the pier and walk on the beach for a bit of sand there. If you feel like it, continue to Juanita Bay Park. read more

This is such a lovely park! There's so much to do and so much space for whatever you want to do here. It gets really busy when it's sunny out so the parking lot can be a bit chaotic, but it's a great park for you and your family, pets, etc. The bathrooms are also quite clean! What's not to like! I first came here during pandemic and didn't quite like it. It was way too busy and had too many people on the path/ bridge. Now that we are vaccinated and a year plus into pandemic, this place is a ok. Also it's very cold October: less people walking. That bridge around the lake is just a fun walk to sprint on or stroll depending on your speed. You can do the whole park in 10 minutes speed walking. Get your heart pumping! Also it's pretty cool given that history of this place that dates back to 1920! Originally this was a resort owned by a couple and later they sold it to King county as a park. There was no bridge around the water or any concrete dude walks: buildings or facilities before. The city spent around $300,000 to built those as well as that swimming area. And it's absolutely gorgeous in the fall weather we have now. I make it a point to stop for that scenery and quick fresh air walk round the little bridge. Baci approved too! read more

Great park to enjoy summer days! A swim is super nice as well as a paddling session. Calm and relaxing but sometimes there's a lot of people on the beach. Parking lot gets super full very quick. If you are going to make a party, you must arrive on time to get a good spot or one of the few tables. Nice for a walk through the deck and watch the sunset or ducklings swimming around :) Ice pops available at the beach store near the restrooms. read more

This park and beach have gone downhill these past few years. This is the 2nd or 3rd time the beach has been closed due to fecal matter in the water. This beach is used heavily in the summer with many families with kids. The whole park, from the water, beach sand, boardwalk, and bathrooms seems to never be maintained. Last year we even had to tell a mother and her kid to get out of the water because there were signs up warning do not enter due to contaminated water. She either didn't care or was oblivious to the sign and dangers of exposure to dirty water. The playground for kids is very weak. It's pretty much just a slide with a climbing feature and about 10 swings. Kids in this neighborhood deserve better. Please upgrade! The Juanita Beach Friday Market is also very weak. Have been coming for years hoping it would improve. But it never does. Why can't they get more vendors to come here? This beach has so much potential but isn't properly maintained and promoted as the type of must-see beach it should be. read more

Full disclosure: I'm super weary of this park, especially the swimming area. This is because EVERY summer there seems to be days (weeks?) When the beach is closure due to fecal matter.... Likely due to the nearby bird sanctuary but still. Yucky. I have ended up here a few times in the past few weeks for playdates and the updated facilities are BEAUTIFUL. Great play structure with equipment for various ages. Large clean bathrooms, concession, and picnic shelter. While this still isn't my first choice for places to let my kids play, I can see us coming here every once in awhile (with hot showers for everyone afterwards!) read more

What a fun little spot to catch some sun and rays during the day. Super easy parking and was near where we were eating for lunch. The water was beautiful and it was not super packed. We were not here very long but it is definitely a well cleaned area. The beach is right by the parking lot and there is a trail to walk as well. Juanita Beach Park is a sweet neighborhood park with nice trails, green space, and fun things to do on the water. My friends and I visited and rented stand up paddle boards on a weekend. After a brief orientation and signing forms, we got two hours out on the bay. The water temperature in the summer was around 50-60C and very favorable. We had a fun time enjoying the afternoon sun out on the water. The park has all the amenities you need and ample parking for peak days of the year. There are also shops and restaurants nearby if you're feeling hungry. read more

It's in a good location, nice area to walk around in a very cute neighborhood! I love the little shops that are close by and the park is full of kids and dogs. I went on a cold, windy day so I would recommend bundling up because it was a lot colder than other parts of town. Welcome to Juanita's backyard. I feel like the entire community hangs here, especially during summer evenings, and I love it. The kids play in the sand, ride their bikes or are on the playground.. and adults picnic, play volleyball, throw a frisbee, people watch, or walk the dock (that goes out on the water and loops around - 2.5 laps is 1 mile). I come here more than any other park because it's close to home, beautiful (offers a view of Seattle from afar) and it's the perfect place to walk for some casual exercise after dinner. Also, it's fun seeing regulars and familiar faces. I probably bump into someone I know every time I'm here whether it's a coworker, volunteer and client from work, my old piano teacher, etc. Lastly, if you're lucky, you might catch a duck with her ducklings popping up on the beach or swimming nearby :) NOTE: There's a parking lot with plenty of spots.. BUT, people ALWAYS park crooked, so don't be surprised when you see cars parked in all sorts of directions. Also, if you get hungry or thirsty while at the beach, Juanita Village is just across the street where there's Starbucks, Full Tilt Ice Cream, Spud's Fish & Chips, Walgreens and a few other places - very convenient. read more

Juanita Beach Park is one of my favorite parks in the Eastside area: Close to Downtown Kirkland & Kenmore, right on the water, close to the freeway & major roads and lots of green space around. Did you know: Originally settled by Dorr and Eliza Forbes, the park blossomed as a resort in the 1920s under the guidance of their son Leslie and his wife Alicia. In 1956, they sold the park to King County. It remained a county park until 2002. More than $300,000 was allocated for Juanita Beach, most of which was spent to build a concrete pier-breakwater combination which surrounds and protects the swimming area. New picnic shelters were built, and tennis courts were added. The lowering of Lake Washington in 1917 had exposed a wide sandy beach, rather than the more typical mudflats adjacent to many other properties. One could walk out in shallow water for nearly a city block. read more

It's just a natural fit. On a nice day, all da sexii, suburban boiz assemble here and do signature hot guy things like throw balls in the air or have a game of topless Ultimate Frisbee and share Gatorade with their dogs. Good place to take a walk during the summer time! Wild ducks are not afraid of human. This park also have courts for volleyball and fishing too. Nice gardening. Good parking spaces to hold good amount of people. Several picnic tables are also available. I usually pick up food around the plaza and walk to this park and have it with nice view (most of time with sunsets). And it is kinda my way of 'getaway'. read more

Nice park to walk your dog in Kirkland! The park is well kept and there is a sizable parking lot (depending on the day I guess) and you can walk to another nearby park as well. Lots of people had their kids and dogs out and about on a crisp, sunny winter day! Lots of ducks and other birds to see too. There is ample seating with many benches and tables spread out across the park. There are also trash cans, mutt mitts, and restrooms (port-o-potties in the winter). read more

I love this little park! It's so nice to run by in the morning and soak up the beautiful views. On a clear day, you can see the Seattle skyline across Lake Washington! During the summer, they have activity tents set up for kayaking, paddle-boarding and so many other fun things! The beach is small and a bit gravely, but it's a lake! The pier is fun to walk or run across if it's not too crowded. A lot of people allow their dogs off-leash here, so be careful if you're a runner... This is definitely a great place to watch the sun setting over the water! read more

Wonderful, wonderful beach park in Kirkland. The beach park is spacious with a dock formed in a U-shape that you can walk from one end to the other, and in the middle of the dock where everyone congregates, you can dive off. Plus, the view of Seattle ain't too shabby on clear days. There's also an easy walking trail on the outskirts of the beach area and an area where you can rent kayaks and play volleyball. Juanita Beach Park should be an option on everyone's list for where-to-go-for-when-the-sun-finally-comes-out-in-Seattle. In my most recent visit we were experiencing weather in the 90's, which in the Seattle area means - good luck finding a beach to hang out if you can find parking. I've gone to several beach parks on the Eastside before and must say that no matter what - Juanita Beach Park always pulls one for the win. I have never ever had a problem finding parking here, no matter how busy the place becomes. In comparison to the other Kirkland beach parks, especially ones in the downtown neighborhood - it seems impossible to find parking when it's so sunny. But at Juanita you don't have to stress because not only is there a private parking lot at the park, but there's street parking and parking in the Juanita Village Shopping Center right across the park. ALSO, Juanita Beach Park allows dogs! This is a HUGE deal in the Seattle area because unfortunately, several beach parks ban dogs, starting in June. As a dog owner and lover I love taking my dog everywhere with me, so finding out that Juanita is dog-friendly instantly makes this park my favorite beach park, by far. Again, since it was so hot during my most recent visit my dog could come swimming with me in the water unlike at other beaches. I've even been told at other beaches that dogs can't even walk along the sand, but at Juanita they are welcome to frolic and swim around! I've never done it myself, but have seen people BBQ every time I've visited and sometimes, there are food trucks at the park. There are bathrooms and outdoor showers, which come in handy after swimming and park benches throughout the area. I love this park, and am so glad this is a guaranteed spot for hanging out and swimming on sunny days. read more

What a great park!!! I recently came here for a 10K and my daughter and I were so impressed with this park and the facilities. Granted, we visited quite early on a Saturday morning, but we thought there was ample parking in a huge grassy lot right across the street On Juanita Drive (and it's free parking, too). There's a sandy beach area with lots of ducks swimming, a small area with playground equipment, a volleyball court and kayak rentals. I'm not sure I'd swim in the water here (it really was murky, and did I mention all the ducks?). But what a wonderful place to come with friends and family, to walk on the sand and perhaps wade in the water, to picnic or play Frisbee and just relax? What I was most taken with is the long boardwalk area and the trails for walking or running, winding by grassy meadows, under canopies of trees, with the trail spotted by park benches to rest and look out at the lake. And the boardwalk goes through a wetlands area where, if you look closely enough, who knows what you might see: turtles, herons, all sorts of fish and birds. It's a fabulous place to run, jog, walk or just casually stroll, get your fix of fresh air in a natural habitat. read more
