Food: The biggest disappointment was the hamburger, which we ordered medium-rare but received well-done. It was dry, overcooked, and lacked any real flavor -- honestly, we wouldn't order it again. The pulled pork sandwich had decent taste, though it was on the dry side and could've used more BBQ sauce to bring it to life. The shrimp were fine but forgettable. The seafood bisque was probably the best thing we had -- rich and creamy with a nice depth of flavor. The crab cakes had good seasoning but were a bit soggy on the outside. We also ordered fries, but they never made it to the table, which was frustrating. Drinks: We tried two of their house beers, and while drinkable, they were just average -- nothing that stood out or made us want to order a second round. Service: On the bright side, our waitress was very pleasant and attentive, doing her best despite the kitchen issues. Her friendly service helped soften the experience. Final Thoughts: While the vibe is relaxed and the service was great, the food execution and beer quality didn't quite deliver. There's potential here, but it needs more consistency -- and attention to detail -- to be worth a return visit.

Patio is dog friendly and we appreciate it because not many on the westside of the lake cater to families with dogs . We were super excited that the game was playing both at the bar and on a huge screen on the wall. First we were at the bar ... the server was amazing, the food and drinks were excellent. We soon realized that there was a group of mostly ladies, also from the same country, watching the game on the big screen behind us. They were very excited and boisterous and invited us to join them. The game was a nailbiter so the group was loud at the exciting parts. I remind you, the game playing was on a huge screen, clearly a sports atmosphere. The girls were not drunk or out of control. The manager (?) came storming out of the kitchen and told the ladies to quiet down, that "someone at the bar" had complained that they were too loud. Keep in mind - we had just been at the bar, everyone was watching, no one was "complaining" about them. The manager was rude and took all the joy and excitement out of the space. Just curious ... when you play football games on that big screen/wall, do you tell men to "keep it down?" Do you tell groups of male sports fans that people are complaining about them? Of course not ... can you imagine? So, five stars on food, drink and atmosphere, but taking two stars off for the sexism. Go enjoy the vibe and especially the patio, but don't go if you are a woman who might get too excited about a game.

The Neighborhood Center of the Arts is housed in what I'm guessing is an old hospital. Or a…read moresanitarium. It looks old and crazy, stale and, to use the parlance of fast food, melty. If it had teeth then they'd be about to drop off onto your head. The center has a wing on the far end (I don't know what other parts of the building are used for, but I've heard there's a glass studio). It's upstairs, and you can either take the stairs or the elevator. At the base of the stairs you'll see a series of totemic ceramics. Art lies ahead. The center is an expansive working art studio, as well as an open art gallery. The aim is to provide resources and art classes for adults with developmental disabilities. They work in many different mediums, including paint, photography, ceramics, weaving, computers, and pen and ink. Further information can be found on their website. They have a new exhibit every few months. Hours are 10am to 4pm. Until about 2pm the studio is active, with artists working, milling about, and attending classes. But visitors are free to step in and check out what's going on. Basically, this is my favorite gallery in the world. It's such a positive place, free of pretentions, and the work is great and presented well. The staff is very friendly, and the artists are nice and available to speak about their work. I (and my family) have a whole collection of art from here. Some of my favorite pieces that I own are from here. Once you walk inside, there are a few rooms walling the latest exhibition. Past that you get into the studio areas, where there is also more art to look at. Basically, every room has art on the walls. One time I was browsing some abstract religious icon paintings, and one of the artists came up to me and asked, "Hey, do you want to know what happened yesterday?" I said, "Yes." And he handed me the newspaper. Then walked off. Then I bought a piece of art -- a woodblock with an all-text Volvo advertisement printed on it, and sprawling on top of the text, in various mediums, are words and nonsense. My family and I recently invested in a huge painting, a collaborate effort by a few of the artists. It looks somewhat like a Basquiat. I highly recommend visiting the Neighborhood Center of the Arts. The artists produce amazing work, and it's very accessible, engaging, and enjoyable. The center does a wonderful job at cultivating their talents. A lot of care and hard work goes into the place, and their efforts are rightfully deserving of praise.

Tahoe City is in Placer County! Very beautiful, hiking trails, some museums. After think called Gatekeeper Museum, it was a special event day on August 2, 2025 so the family and I went to Gatekeeper Museum! After, we walked in the town! There are restaurants, there are as I saw, least two hotels! That afternoon I saw license plates from Texas and from Oregon. Wow, the people from Oregon and from Texas drove here, good thing then that there are least two hotels! My first of this has sixteen USEFUL, COOL, FUNNY votes!

Enjoy the delicious artesian well tap water, walking the trails, play horseshoes or enjoy the outdoor fireplace while roasting marshmallows. You can walk to the lake across the highway or take a short drive to quiet and secluded beach areas. We stayed in cabin 16, which is a newer rustic cabin. It is clean, cozy, charming and romantic. The cabin includes a kitchenette - stocked with necessary cook and dishware, a bathroom, a fireplace and private front patio to sit and enjoy the peaceful and fresh air. We will definitely be back on our next trip to the North Shore.

Helpful touches to consider: Instructions for working the microwave - it was a challenge. How to start it ‍... How to pause or cancel ‍. Just started guessing and got some results. Similar experience with the TV in getting a channel to engage. We figured out a system that bypassed using the channel guide to tune in a show. And about those 4 steps in front of unit 25 - they are not uniform in height and older folks would benefit from a handrail. None of these are deal breakers. We'd stay here again.

They also have a to-go slime kit.  We were leaving Tahoe that day so we wanted to make something that we could bring home the same day. The kids each made a garden and a candle. For the garden, we chose a pot which varies in price. We then got to choose a real or fake plant. To plant, small rocks went in first for drainage and then we filled it with dirt. Now comes the fun part to decorate with the add ons. There were different types and color rocks, moss, and tiny figurines. My kiddo loved getting his creativity on with all the options.  For the candle, we chose a container which varies in price also. We then got to choose the colored wax to break it apart. It was actually easier to break it with the hands then cut it up. Once we were done with that part, we got to choose a scent, then a wick was added, and clear gloss was poured over to seal it.  It was a cute and fun experience. The best part is that all supplies are provided, and no cleaning is needed.
