I booked the bigger hall on Park Street owned and run by same people. This hall is without question…read moregorgeous. It is a very large venue and the decor is not outdated or cheesy. You can have a casual event here or dress it up for a wedding. The issue is not the hall itself, I have had many events here as have many of my friends and family. I have never however, booked the hall myself. The woman in charge booking has terrible people skills. She can be hard to get ahold of when you have a question. She will NOT accommodate any special requests or needs you might have. If you are a professional person dealing with her, you might be shocked at her customer service skills as she comes across a bit rude when she disagrees with you. If you are booking a casual event this might be OK, but for the person booking an important formal event I would think twice. When planning my event I have dealt with several companies that all want my business, they have all be accommodating within their means. For example a salon is opening an hour earlier to accommodate my time constraints so we can all have our hair done in time for the event, even though they normally don't open at that time. She refused to offer me any help with the one issue I had even with plenty of notice.

The club was taken over by a young prominent member of the Portuguese community, Helio Demelo Jr. His Father Helio "Al " Demelo had been a board member for 30 plus years. Helio Jr. is really making the place great with events, food and dances. I like what they are doing because its a great crowd now and some really beautiful Portuguese women! I never had the pleasure, so I jumped at the chance since my son is in college, and I don't seem to get a lot of trick-or-treaters in the city. Ferncroft is settled in what I would call a business-residential area, with beautiful homes, surroundings, and a stones throw away from Coco Key Resort. The road to get up to the main building was very dark, I am sure that is for a reason, but it was fitting for Halloween night I suppose. We pulled up and had our choice of spots. I figured there would be something going on but it seemed like just another night from the parking lot. When we entered, we were great with smiles and a roaring fire place. The smells from the kitchen already taking over my senses. I was in for a treat. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, helpful, and presented the specials well. Dinning room is small but that's okay because you can enjoy all the ambience it has to offer. After ordering a few drinks, my friend and I dove right in. Sliders and nachos to start and two mixed grilled plates for dinner. We finished that off with slices of Sweet Potato Maple cheesecake and Chocolate Fudge cake. Of course Sugerman had coffee as well. Appetizers 4 out 5 - The SLIDERS! I was advised by my friend we should order these. They didn't disappoint. Juicy, flavorful, and served with warm fries. You could even order this for your entree. The kid in you will love these, and so will the adult. The nachos were good. On par with most places but nothing special. Entrees 5 out 5 - Now I know we both ordered the mixed grill, but we both had the same feelings. The sausage was grilled to perfection, the chicken was super flavorful, and the steak tips melted in my mouth. Choose a side and you can't go wrong. And for the price, about $15 a plate, we were completely satisfied. Desserts 5 out 5 - My buddy was in a chocolate coma. The cake was rich and moist. The only problem with my Sweet Potato Maple cheesecake is I couldn't slow myself down to enjoy it longer. The house coffee was excellent, which I would "roast" them for (pun intended) for not caring about the little things. It was a perfect way to end the meal. Service 4 out 5 - Most of all the staff was warm and friendly, and out waitress certainly was. Plates were cleared and new silverware placed promptly. So if you ever get the opportunity to eat here with a member, cancel your plans and go early to view the local colors and scenery.

There's just not quite enough variety to keep things interesting for very long. The biggest frustration was the claw machines. They don't take cash or tokens--only card scans--which seems unnecessarily complicated for an arcade. The 40 tokens for $10 initially felt like a pretty good deal, until you realize a lot of the more interesting stuff, like the VR games, eats up 8 or 12 tokens at a time. Those 40 tokens disappear a lot faster than you'd think. The ticket-to-prize system is pretty standard arcade math: spend a lot, collect a little, and somehow convince yourself that the tiny plastic prize was worth the financial decisions that led you there. It's worth stopping in for an hour or two, or killing some time while you wait for your pizza to cook. But based on the hype, I was expecting a little more. It's a perfectly decent arcade, just not one that lived up to the reputation that got me through the door.
