This was pretty cool. Relaxed Wednesday night for our first visit as locals. Stacks on stacks of delicious beers litter the menu, and although we didn't expand too deep into food, the apps menu worked. Blue cheese burger sliders were damn tasty (although I would've preferred real blue cheese, this was slightly fluffy and runny) and the beer cheese teamed up with those delicious pretzels hit the spot. Dumped $20 into the token machine and that kept the missus and I busy for darn close to two hours Skeeball, pinball, some random cabinet games. My husband and I went to Bit Bar for Valentine's Day and we loved our experience! I had made a reservation and I'm glad I did they got busy quickly! We decided to just have appetizers and they were amazing. The star was by far the grilled cheese appetizer. It was amazing!! I did expect more game options but we still had a blast playing and I discovered I'm pretty good at pinball! The biggest highlight however was our waitress. I could have heard her wrong but I believe she said her name was Story. She was very personable, polite, and attentive. She was getting us a second round of drinks and accidentally took my husband beer that was still 1/4 full. As an apology she brought us more game tokens. Most servers wouldn't even acknowledge it happened. As if we weren't already having a great time she offered us a Valentine's Day fondue box on the house! Cool arcade bar we accidentally came across when running in the rain back to the train station. Had some time to kill before the next train arrival and to let the kids unwind with some video games while the adults have a few drinks. They have a huge selection of beer and a decent collection of pinball machines, arcade games, skeeball and, mostly older/classic stuff. The price for arcades were actually not bad. This place was super clean and an awesome place for a group of friends to just have drinks, eat and game. Wish we had something like this at home that's not your D&B's. read more

Went to get drinks here. I sat down at the bar and no one acknowledged me or even gave me a menu. I had to look for a menu which I did and sat back down again HAVE IN MIND it wasn't even busy, THEN watched the bartender assist 4 other people standing while even making eye contact with me in between and once I finally got up and stood right where I thought I couldn't possibly be ignored IT HAPPENED I literally watched the bartender start to help someone next to me that showed up after I stood up! On a tour and we get to this place I have my ID and so does my wife but my friend doesn't have hers honestly appreciate it but really no one here is underage and we can't go in denied and the guy at the front is the rudest person. The waiters and waitresses are amazing!! If a game takes a coin and won't work they will give me 2 or 3 back they are soo kind! The food is so good I'm a picky eater and can name at least 5-10 things I absolutely enjoy! I also love how the kid meals come with coins so the kids can have fun after they eat it's such an encouraging way to get little kids to eat when they want to play the amazing games! I have never been to this place, not even the old one but I was very surprised with this one. It is a perfect location and pretty big. I really like all the mix of games that they have and the amount of games that they had too. My son's thoroughly enjoyed all the games especially. We were there for a 40th birthday party and he was a pretty good deal of getting unlimited games. I love the little area we have in the back with all the tables for everyone to eat and I love that. We just had a waitress basically for us. However, my only complaint is when they put out the food they had it like a buffet style which is fine but they had a little game going on the wall which I wish they shut off because the person that was playing it was in our way of getting the food. The pizza was pretty good, The pretzels were good, however the mustard looks absolutely disgusting, The chicken fingers are pretty decent but I wish they had more sauce and the french fries pretty good too. But we walked right in here and, after a bit of confusion at the entrance, were seated in the back at a booth. We were hungry so we started off with some drinks of course and ordered the loaded tetris tots (they are literally tetris piece shaped!) the bbq pork mac & cheese and the Johnny Appleseed burger. Everything was shockingly good. My expectations of food were really low but I'm happy they were exceeded! After eating we paid our tab and set off to play some games. This is a great place for date night. I love the game themed food and drinks, super cute! The drinks were colorful and strong, definitely getting your money's worth. The food was okay, nothing special, but I thought the Tetris tots were cute. They had so many games while also giving you variety. The skeeball machine was super fun, but be wary that the 50 points on the right machine and the 10 points on the left machine don't show up in the points. We got $20 worth of coins and it was too much, the games are super affordable, something that you don't see often. I couldn't help but compare this place to Roxy's in Boston. Fun place to grab a bit to eat and play some games. The drinks were delicious and fun! The gluten free options were a huge plus for me! Got the tenders but those weren't the best a 4/10, loaded tots very yummy and the bbq chicken pizza was the star of the dinner. Would come back again just for that pizza. I'm not sure what's going on at this place--whether the staff are overworked or if they just don't have enough bartenders--but every time I visit, I get at least one sarcastic response or a sly remark from the bartenders. There was one exception--a single bartender who was actually respectful--but unfortunately, the rest of my experiences have been consistently disappointing. A girl named Melissa one of the bartenders is one of those people that gave me the disrespectful remarked and asking for her assistance and said it in a rude way that she'll be with me. I should've got up and said no thank you and just left the bar. This past Saturday was the final straw, and I've decided I won't be going back. I haven't tried the food, so I can't speak to that, though I'd assume it's decent since it's a sports bar. My husband wanted to come here to eat and play the arcade games and I was asking why we were eating here and not just coming for drinks. I don't know why she didn't just write it down on a piece of paper and then type it in back in the kitchen area. Or maybe management should make sure their servers are competent enough to use the touch screen computer before implementing it. When we came back to the table our food was all mixed up and put on opposite sides of the table so we were trying to figure out whose was whose since a lot of the food looked the same. I got the K.O. Fried chicken but my dish looked and tasted like regular chicken tenders. The chicken was dry and had no crunch to it whatsoever. I thought they mixed it up with the kids meal one. My friend's kid ordered chicken tenders and they looked really crunchy and battered , like how fish and chips would look. Our waitress said there was no mixup and that I received the right item, I don't know if I can trust her though because she didn't seem to know what she was doing. The sauce was just thrown in a cup on the side too , I thought it was supposed to be be cooked in the Korean sauce. My husband's fish and chips wasn't good either- it was over cooked and dry, and the fish was so thin there was more breading than fish. The only good thing about this place was we got a bunch of free tokens from a Salem brochure in our hotel. The arcade part was ok. A bunch of machines were out of order, and some of the pinball machines that were in order didn't quite work right. Some pinball machines kept getting stuck. There was some games I was looking for that they didn't have. No Pac-Man. I was disappointed there wasn't any sonic games either, even though they have a sonic plush on the bar wall shelf. This place is really fun! I made reservations beforehand and we arrived about 15 minutes early and were immediately seated. I appreciate how they are still taking Covid precautions and do put at least one chair between you and the people beside you. We ended up having such a great time here we went back two days later while walking around to enjoy some drinks. They offer a large selection of beer and specialty cocktails. They have arcade games and a bar with standard bar fare: The angry birbs appetizer was buffalo chicken tenders and the chicken tenders taste out of a bag. The chicken blt sandwich was better. horrible experience I came from out of town for a night out and all of the staff from the moment I walked in the door we're looking at us funny and that made us feel uncomfortable and then secondly I was comparing tattoos with couple on the patio and they told me they didn't feel comfortable with our presence and wanted us to leave, couldn't explain why just said that she had the right to do so. horrible service. Super fun themed menu, wonderful atmosphere, extremely friendly staff that make sure your needs are met to their best abilities. Just a wonderful experience highly recommend it for anyone looking to have a little fun. Kids are welcome up until 8P.M. After that point the bar closes at 12. You can't have a good review without a little critique, I know the kitchen is a pretty crazy environment and at the end of the day the staff is probably exhausted, but I just feel like it closes far too soon. Being able to order some bar bites or desert would be absolutely awesome after things start to wind down. Regardless if you come in during the dinner timeframe you're in for a wonderful experience. Our server story was very kind to us and later on the bar tender John was probably the coolest individual I've ever met a pure master in the liquor arts. Highly recommend the bit bar. I recently visited Bit Bar Salem in Salem, MA, with my son and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a dark, smelly, and dirty atmosphere that immediately set a negative tone for our visit. The food at Bit Bar was nothing short of a disaster. Not only was it served cold and stale, but it was also simply gross. It was evident that the quality of the food was subpar, and we found it difficult to enjoy anything on the menu due to its unappetizing nature. To make matters worse, the arcade games at Bit Bar were a major letdown. The majority of the games were very dated, with many of them being broken or out of order. This made it nearly impossible to fully enjoy the arcade experience that we had been looking forward to. Despite all of these issues, the only redeeming quality of Bit Bar was the selection of pinball machines. From Godzilla to The Simpsons, there were some great options that provided a brief respite from the overall disappointing experience. Overall, I would not recommend Bit Bar to anyone looking for a fun and enjoyable night out. First time back in Salem since 2019 and I remember this place being the Salem Beerworks. Now its an arcade bar. I loved the decorations, neon lights, and the items from the 80s in the space behind the bar between the drink menu's. It even had cartoons playing on 2 tvs instead of sports!! Being October, Salem is busy. Nice to see some interesting costumes as well. There was a guy in yellow dressed as Wario from one of the Super Mario games dancing by the DJ area. Lots of space and even still has an outside patio! Overall, a great time, only loses a star because the floor was very sticky and there were empty glasses on the tables that no one came to get. read more
