Beatiful. I had the opportunity of visiting this beautiful place on Sunday and I must say I loved it. If you love flowers, you must visit this garden! I repeat myself: You MUST! They have many different kinds of flowers including some beautiful hybrids. The scent of the flowers and roses is delicously strong. I really enjoyed walking this little piece of Hermann park. I also liked the Japanese kiosk they have there, it is very beautiful. According to the website they do weddings and other functions there, so it may be worth checking out their calendar. I will visit this place often, as they have different kinds of flowers during different times of the year. Enjoy!

A lovely large park among the urban sprawl. My friend suggested to go through the new rose garden and although no roses around, we had a lovely romp around the place and up the mount with great views of the park and city. It's a large park, so if I did live in Houston, I would totally run around here as there are lots of trails. I would also love walking around with my boyfriend as we love walking parks.

Gorgeous place to check out. When weather is beautiful, take advantage of it. The gardens are best during spring time. Come early to get parking or BE PREPARED. it's crazy during weekends.

It's hard to imagine a more tranquil place in a warm, calm day. If you can find parking then the rest takes care of itself. Bring bird food if you are into that.

What a beautiful oasis!! Located in the museum district. Definitely a happy place. Tons of trails for biking & jogging. Lots of green space for the kiddos to run about!

Hermann Park's first Kite Festival. Beautiful day, perfect winds, gorgeous park!

It's so clean and I absolutely love all the wild flowers this time of year. This is one of the best place to bike in the inner loop with the separated biking and pedestrian trails. Connects to the heights and all major neighborhoods. A lovely place to get a walk or bike ride in on the evenings or weekends! There are quite a few manicured grass spots for picnics or to bring a book, as well as shaded areas. I have always felt very safe at this park. A 'not so hidden' gem as parking can be a little tough, but leads to not very busy trails. I never realized how beautiful this park is compared to the days I would only drive by!

In a city that is known for tearing down and paving over so much of our history, it is wonderful that this was saved and has been made into a place that visitors can visit and experience. I went with some friends from Kingwood on a Photo Walk of the area, we were lucky that the light and sound experience was still going on, each column in the cistern has LED lighting that changes to the tune of some aethereal music playing silently, the acoustics of the cistern make it sound so beautiful and mesmerizing. When you purchase your ticket online you choose one of the available times, upon entry they give you 30 minutes, the time passed quickly. Be ready if you are taking pictures or better yet, a video. Smart phones work great but you might consider turning off auto focus and just focusing manually if you know how because when it gets dark for a moment and then the lights come on most cameras auto focus has to search for focus so it goes in and out of focus. When you leave, there is a skateboard park up above and worth some time for taking pictures of the acrobatic skating going on.

Here and there, I spotted a delicate cherry blossom and a few early blooms, though I wish I had visited at the peak of flower season. The garden itself is exquisitely designed and every corner seems crafted for peace, and I truly enjoyed the calm atmosphere. It felt like a small escape from the city hustle. That said, I did notice the cleanliness was a bit of an issue; the garden could definitely use some extra care to keep it pristine. Another small drawback was the restroom situation. There are only two available, and both were quite busy, so I ended up waiting a while and eventually decided it wasn't worth it. Still, the park draws a lovely crowd with people come to stroll, reflect, and soak in the beauty. If I'm in Houston again at a better time, I'll absolutely return to see the garden in full bloom. It has so much potential, and with a little more attention to detail, it could be a true hidden gem.
