The work was done very quickly although it was winter. He pointed out issues a long the way and asked if I wanted to fix them or keep them as is. The end result was very clean and professional. I'll give 1 star for Amanda being responsive and 1 star for Alex (I think that was his name) arriving on schedule to conduct a walkthrough and discuss the project. That's where the stars come to an end for me. Alex provided me with the most ridiculous estimate and there was no breakdown of price. The company clearly did not want to do the project so provided an estimate so inflated that no homeowner would agree to, and made me wait almost a week to receive it. That was inconsiderate of my time. I originally thought I would need permits thinking I would need to do a complete tear down of my front porch and then rebuild. Alex explained how he could fix the porch, not make any structural changes, and not need to get county permits. That saves a lot of money since it eliminates the cost of permits and the cost of an architectural design. The company quoted me close to $60k for my project, which is insane for the scope. They quoted almost 3x the amount a company quoted to completely redo my porch, provide a design by an architect, and handle getting the permits. This company was high on my hire list and I was looking forward to working with them on the several other projects my husband and I are planning in the near future (new flooring, kitchen remodel, master bathroom remodel, etc.). I certainly won't waste my time reaching out to them for any of those. I'm looking forward to getting started on the porch project with the company my husband and I choose and hopefully using them for all future projects. Note: I reached out to Alex (because I was interested in using the company) regarding the quote and received no response. I gave a less than a positive review in February 2024 due, apparently, to difficulties encountered in establishing communications with Anthony, not because of any problems with his work. Since that time, lines of communication have been established and he is now under contract to perform a challenging project for our church. We'll see how that goes, but I am encouraged by his confidence and enthusiasm. He is incredibly knowledgeable with the "uniqueness" of old DC row homes. His crew is also great and are very skilled at what they do. My grade is based on my experience with the company. After some back and forth via phone and email, where they requested a list of work and pictures, which I provided, we coordinated a time for the estimate. An appt that they turned out to be something like two hours late for, due to a different appt running over, they said. Still finally the agent for this company arrived, saw the relatively limited home improvement work. Took measurements and stated he would follow up with an estimate Crickets. No followup from the company. I followed up with the company 3 times to no response. Again I understand busy, I understand over extended. But simply say that. Wasting the customer's time, and lack of communication --- unacceptable and unprofessional. At least it used to be. Maybe this behaviour is the new normal. But it just does not work for me. We found Lozado Contracting through a home ownership program, where he was listed as an approved contractor. Prior to reaching out to Anthony, we received several astronomical quotes and contractors that wanted to tear apart our floors to complete this job. Anthony was able to figure out a safe and affordable way to complete the repairs without needing to tear up the floors or cause a major headache. We were so impressed with Anthony and his team that we hired him for both major and minor repairs since. Lozado Contracting replaced the fence surrounding our home well below the cost of another major fence co and, sealed our skylights because they leaked water into our ceiling. All throughout, Anthony and his team were very friendly and answered any questions and concerns we had all throughout the process. Anthony consistantly provided his services at very affordable prices. Plus, they completed the work very quickly. While Anthony was fixing the skylights he noticed our gutters needed to be cleaned and suggested his team could install gutter guards to cut back on the need to clean them in the future. I thought this project would need to be done another day but after I said we would like this done his team was able to complete it the same day. Lozado Contracting proved to be a joy to work with. Anthony is very flexible, a hard worker, and very considerate of those he is working with. He can complete any household projects you may need. ***This is my review for our guest bathroom; our master bathroom will be worked on next month and I will post an updated review for that after. My husband had several contractors give us quotes for our guest bathroom renovation and we eventually decided on Anthony and his team. Not only were they recommended by a friend but Anthony also gave us a reasonable quote. Initially we were told our guest bath will be done in 8 days but it ended being 13 days in total. This was due to the fact that once they opened up the wall they had to add more time and also they couldn't finish because of Thanksgiving holiday. Neither of these was an issue for us. An issue that did surface was when the crew was just a day before finishing the project my husband and I discovered that some of the shower tiles were applied improperly. We asked Anthony to come and take a look the next day and he immediately addressed the problem and promised to fix it at his cost without any resistance. We understand these things usually happen and we really appreciated the customer service and Anthony's patience at all of our meetings. He's very knowledgeable and he helped us make decisions when my husband and I were uncertain about some things. After the project was done we were happy with his crew's quality of work. We have hired Anthony to work on our master bathroom next month so I'm looking forward to that. read more

After being timely and responsive initially, Lozado Contracting completely wasted our time. Anthony came to our home after we sent him a list of constructions and repair projects. Our projects included fence construction, doorbell installation, glass shower door installation, and other projects. We were very excited to work with him based on Yelp reviews. He took several pictures and asked some seemingly unrelated questions (for example, he was really surprised when we told him that we didn't buy our house through a home buyer program and asked us a few times to confirm). At the end of the meeting, he said that he'd send an estimate the next day. He never sent the estimate. We wrote to him to ask for the estimate. He never responded. He wore his face mask, which we appreciated, but there was a large opening at he bottom and he coughed several times throughout the visit. Perhaps we are dodging a bullet by not working with him, but it's unfortunate that the most we'll get from the experience is the fear that he spread his germs in our home. Also I am located in Washington, DC. I'm not sure why it's listing me as being located in California. read more

Several years ago I had a pretty bad experience while renovating my condo and since then it was hit or miss. I am happy I just found Anthony through a friend. He is very capable, honest and personable. Once the work began, Anthony checked in daily while Heinz and his crew got to work. The second was to pull up old carpeting in my basement and replace it with water resistant flooring.
