Extremely disappointed with the services provided and the disingenuous pricing of the work. I…read morerequested assistance with repairing a leaking sliding glass door and fixing a small hole (1.5" x 1.5") in my garage siding. I was quoted $450- $550 to fix the sliding door, and the siding repair was not included in the estimate. The repairman did not attempt to recreate the leak for the sliding door and suggested either caulking a small gap that might be the issue or replacing the entire door assembly. I said I would take care of caulking the door because I needed to clean the surfaces beforehand. We spent about 5 minutes addressing this. We then moved to the hole in the garage siding. Initially, the repairman asked if I wanted him to caulk the hole. Caulk seemed inappropriate for the repair, and I suggested using Bondo or something similar. He said he wouldn't be able to match the siding profile perfectly, but he could try. He also said he wasn't sure he could match the color, but he would take a paint chip to Lowe's to see what he could do. I understood the limitations and approved his attempt at the repair. I wish I hadn't; I would have been better off going to Lowe's, picking up some epoxy, and spending half an hour doing it myself. He said the paint chip he brought in wasn't big enough to color match, so he got a can of spray paint that looked close. I approved him to try it nonetheless and again, wish I hadn't. After finishing the job, the repairman gave me the invoice and said he came in at the low end of $450, which was confusing to me because that was the estimate for repairing the sliding door; we hadn't discussed an estimate for repairing the hole in the garage. I addressed this directly and was met with the response that "I have no control over the pricing, I just punch it in the computer, and it gives me a total." After including the cost of the spray paint and the credit card processing fee, the bill was $534.20 for a poorly executed repair of a 1.5" x 1.5" hole in some metal siding. That's absolutely insane. I would caution against using this company's services due to the poor workmanship and the predatory pricing. I tried calling to address this issue, but I couldn't reach anyone other than an AI phone agent.

We have had really good experiences with Mr. Handyman in the past. This time things were…read moredifferent. We scheduled for the deck to be power washed then a few weeks later to be stained. The power wash went well and pictures were taken of the completed job to have on file. It was explained to me that the pictures of the deck would assist the next technician to plan for the deck to be stained. When it was time for the deck to be stained, the technician arrived stating the job was not scheduled properly, the previous quote was incorrect and the job couldn't be completed on that day. After requesting time off from work, weeks in advance all I could do was approve the work for the time allotted. That resulted in 1/3 of the job (exterior deck) completed at the top of the price range. There seems to be a lack of communication amongst the team at Mr. Handyman, which leads to poor customer service. Now due to AI, it's very challenging trying to speak to a human to remedy the situation. Unfortunately, I'm looking into another company who has provided Great customer service consistently.

They closed all the holes in the walls (no more air coming in) where the old convectors were located; they repaired the flooring so that it looked seamless; and they installed baseboards to mask the gaps left by the new convectors, which were a slightly different size than the previous ones. (The convectors were installed by a different company, so they coordinated with them nicely). They also installed a brand-new lighting fixture on the bedroom ceiling (lots of concrete drilling involved), hung a metal shelf in the bathroom, and closed all the holes in the kitchen left by the previous contractor when the kitchen was remodeled. No more mice! Wonderful service, punctual, and would happily call again for anything else I may need.

This is the second time we've worked with Lozado Contracting. The first time was in 2021, when we noticed a leak taking place in our ceiling in our living room. Anthony and team were recommended by a friend and they came in, diagnosed the problem, cut away the wet ceiling drywall. They were incredibly thorough, especially making sure the wet wood was thoroughly dried before beginning the repair work. Their team was really good about taking out and replacing the water heater, replacing the water sensor for our HVAC, and fixing our rusted kitchen disposal. The drywall repair work was phenomenal - what used to be a gaping 3x6'hole in the ceiling is now completely non-descript. Even with the wear and tear over the few years, there hasn't been any changes to where the repair was done. This is why we called him and his team back for another job. This time, the drywall connected to the beams was cracking from the original construction work, and his team was again incredibly thorough with the work. The plaster work was seamless, and the paint work was stellar. His team has an incredible eye for detail and are very professional. Likewise, our windows needed caulking from normal thermal stress and they fixed it. There was a jammed pocket door that was removed and the frame was replaced and reconstructed from the broken pocket door. Needless to say, I'm incredibly satisfied with Lozado Contracting and their quality of work, professionalism, and attention to detail. I hesitate to say that I would recommend them because I know this means they may be busier when I need their work next time! However, I wholeheartedly would recommend them to family and friends if they ever needed, and will be contacting Lozado Contracting for my future needs. read more

Lozado Contracting was wonderful to work with. I give them top marks in the following areas: 1. Quality of work performed - I am very pleased with the appearance of each job. All repairs look neat and attention to detail was made in all areas. 2. Quality of work crews - crewman was polite, professional, worked the entire time with no complaints whatsoever. If he had a question he referred to me as "Ms" which is a sure sign of respect. 3. Integrity - Repairs were discussed at length and inspection of property for repairs was thorough and discussed in detail. There were no changes to the bid which saved me from any additional out-of-pocket expenses. 4. Effective communication - Anthony communicated arrivals, departures, and all repair details during the process. I was kept informed of status of each repair during the entire process. 5. Truth in advertising. In his bid, Anthony gave a clear breakdown of costs for each repair 6. Value. I had solicited two bids for the repairs. Anthony's bid came in lower and I'm convinced that he delivered the best value (in terms of the work done) for the price. 7. Worksite appearance - the crew always made sure the work site was cleaned thoroughly prior to departing each day. Being a new homeowner, I'm very pleased that my selection of Lozado Contracting, LLC was the perfect choice for my repairs. I definitely recommend Lozado Contracting for home renovation projects and would like to recognize him for his exceptional work ethic. We contracted with Lozado Contracting for the installation of all new appliances in our kitchen. We scheduled an appointment with Anthony for a visit to scope the project. After discussing the project, Anthony was able to provide us with an estimate in a few weeks. This was close to the holidays so it's possible that he was gone for a while. Fast forward to the day before installation and the delivery truck showed up with one of the appliances missing. I contacted Anthony to let him know that we would have to reschedule his work for when I could get all out appliances delivered. After sorting out the issue with delivery, we rescheduled the installation for the following week. Anthony scheduled his crew to arrive 9-10am. On the day of installation the crew arrived timely at 9am. After reviewing the scope one final time, the crew got right to work. These pros were careful, skilled, communicated well and frequently, and demonstrated great ingenuity when issues came up. They worked through without taking breaks and did not leave until the project was completed. Anthony called me on the phone to check in on his crew and made himself available in case I needed to discuss any issues with him. In all it was a great experience. Dealing with Anthony was a great experience, and the crew who completed my project was commendable in every way. I will not hesitate to contact Lozado Contracting for all my future home remodeling needs. read more

***This is my review for our guest bathroom; our master bathroom will be worked on next month and I will post an updated review for that after. My husband had several contractors give us quotes for our guest bathroom renovation and we eventually decided on Anthony and his team. Not only were they recommended by a friend but Anthony also gave us a reasonable quote. Initially we were told our guest bath will be done in 8 days but it ended being 13 days in total. This was due to the fact that once they opened up the wall they had to add more time and also they couldn't finish because of Thanksgiving holiday. Neither of these was an issue for us. An issue that did surface was when the crew was just a day before finishing the project my husband and I discovered that some of the shower tiles were applied improperly. We asked Anthony to come and take a look the next day and he immediately addressed the problem and promised to fix it at his cost without any resistance. We understand these things usually happen and we really appreciated the customer service and Anthony's patience at all of our meetings. He's very knowledgeable and he helped us make decisions when my husband and I were uncertain about some things. After the project was done we were happy with his crew's quality of work. We have hired Anthony to work on our master bathroom next month so I'm looking forward to that. read more

Anthony and team were recommended to me by a friend, after our ceiling had started leaking the night before. They were able to arrive within a few hours of calling, covered my furniture with clean sheeting, and began assessing the issue. All in all, the main issue was the HVAC drain clogging up, leading to the water to flow onto the water heater, and into a cracked overflow pan. Because my water heater was near end of life anyway, they replaced the water heater, cleaned the HVAC drain, and replaced the overflow pan. Additionally, they also helped replace a cracked garbage disposal, fixed our toilet, and addressed a water hammer sound when the hot water was turned on in the guest bathroom sink. They also repaired the ceiling drywall, and painted it so well that you can't tell there was a cut hole. Anthony is also a mold treatment specialist so he knew how to prevent mold from growing in the affected wood structure in the ceiling His team was extremely professional, and were patient in answering questions. If there was a language barrier, they were resourceful through the use of modern technology (google translate, ftw!) and called the main office to better explain the issue at hand to any questions/concerns I had. I would turn to Anthony and team at Lozado Contracting again for any future, major home repairs and would recommend them to others! read more

Anthony is the man. After moving into a DC row home that needed a lot of work, Anthony and his team were a God send. I first hired him to renovate our master bathroom and we were so impressed we quickly hired him again to do 2 more bathrooms, then again to replace a patio door, and then once more to resurface our fireplace. Anthony's work is well-priced (after getting a lot of quotes, we generally found he came in around the middle pricewise) and well executed. His final pricing is always exactly what was quoted up front. After working with him on so many projects, he's honestly become quite the family friend of ours! I've since recommended him to two other friends who needed work done to their newly purchased homes and each also had similarly positive experiences. Anthony is always kind, professional and great about communicating expectations as the project goes on. Most importantly, I've been impressed with his follow through after projects are done. Some contractors walk out, take the check and wash their hands of you - but not Anthony! We ordered a stove from Best Buy and when they came to deliver the tech advised that we contact an electrician to install a new power outlet on the island next to where we were placing the new range. A friend recommended Lozado Contracting who they had worked with in the past. Their response to our inquiry was much faster than expected. We called yesterday afternoon and they made time to come assist us with our issue this morning. The general contractor, Anthony, arrived on time and was fully prepared to get the job done. Under the current pandemic, he wore the necessary PPE gear. He installed the new power outlet in a timely manner. Anthony's work was very precise. He really did a impeccable job. In addition to the work, he also did a walk-through and consultation on other home projects that we wish to tackle. The customer service was fantastic. He was very personable, kind and knowledgeable about all our home-improvement questions. He even showed us a few things as we went along which helped us tremendously. I contacted Lozado Contracting last weekend and within 2 days their team reached out to schedule a consultation. Throughout the entire process everyone was very friendly and you can tell they have systems in place to keep them organized which is rare for this area. Anthony called me to let me know when he was on his way and when he arrived he was very friendly and upbeat. What I appreciated the most was his thorough assessment of my house and gave his honest opinion on my situation. He could've easily given me a quote and set a date to start construction but he didn't feel the changes that I wanted to make were necessary before selling my home. He offered sound advice and gave me a solid plan with estimates for the changes I requested. Again, extremely honest and genuine. Although I wasn't able to use Lozado Contracting on this project, I would still highly recommend using them just on the customer service alone. Lozado Contracting did excellent work for me in re-staining my existing backyard deck, as well as my front yard picket fence. It was getting late in the season, and Anthony was extremely flexible in working with me to find a day (well, actually it ended up being several days!) that was warm enough for the stain to cure and free of rain for 24 hours after application. It was a challenge, but he and his crew really came through to work with my timing needs, despite needing to juggle several simultaneous jobs. I found Lozado Contracting through a good friend, who relies on them for all her repair needs at her condo near Howard University. Anthony Lozado, the business owner, is very straightforward, completely trustworthy, and a very positive person. It is a delight to work with him. AS usual Lazado Contractor's swooped in and saved me from melting in my apartment when my AC was leaking water and because of this we had to stop using our A/C . My Landlord as he always does jumped on this problem as soon as I made the request . He in turned contacted Lazado to come out Anthony Lazado himself was in contact with me right away and came out the next day and fixed my A/C and it works great! Anthony and his team recently completed two projects at my house. The first was to replace an old, rotten, wooden staircase. The second was to pull up old carpeting in my basement and replace it with water resistant flooring. While there were some delays with finishing the second project attributed to issues with the supplier, Anthony was communicative throughout. Moreover, his team did a fantastic job on both projects. They paid attention to detail and had great workmanship. Anthony runs a tight, very responsive, client-oriented business with specialists across a wide range of services. He came out for an emergency call when a heat pump began leaking and water caved in the ceiling below. He was there on a Sunday night at our home till about midnight. I've used Lozado Contracting for multiple projects now -- they completely redid my kitchen after water damage and more recently repaired my roof. Both times the work was excellent, and Anthony was professional and responsive. During the roof repair, a window screen was accidentally damaged, but once I brought it to his attention, he made sure it was taken care of and personally followed up to get it fixed. Overall, I'm very happy with their quality of work and customer service. Reliable, efficient, and takes pride in making sure things are done right. We live in the basement unit of a historic townhome and the window had rotted away and there were several cracks in the walls allowing water to flood in. Everyone at Lozado really went above and beyond to help us get things waterproofed and fixed. They took care of the exterior cracks immediately. We had to wait several months for a replacement window to come in, but once it did, we were scheduled and the work was completed in three days (window, mold removal, drywall repair and paint). Overall very professional, communicative, and attentive. We will definitely be using them again for future projects! read more

Anthony and his crew are professional, punctual, friendly, and respectful. I recently bought a house that had an out of date bathroom and a backsplash that did not really go with the counter top. They did a great job on remodeling my bathroom, replacing my kitchen backsplash, as well as some electrical work in my family room. Everything was done on time and within the agreed upon budget. Anthony is also communicative during as well as after the work is done and quickly answered my questions. He introduced himself to me and proceeded to ask me if I was satisfied with the siding and if I had any questions or concerns. He then proceeded to inspect the siding to me sure everything was correct. Their pricing was much lower then I had expected to pay. I couldn't have had a better experience.

He was very professional the entire time and took off his shoes even before he came inside. I showed him what wall he needed to caulk and then he went right back to his truck and got the tools he needed. It took a bit over an hour for him to get done, but the ending result was flawless, honestly. And he cleaned up all of the old caulk efficiently. We wanted to make our shower bigger and replace our built-in tub for a stand alone tub. We contacted 3 companies for an estimate. One contractor flaked and called the morning of the appointment saying he couldn't make it. He suggested we do a zoom consultation. When I asked how he would get the measurements, he said it was "just" a bathroom and he didn't intend on doing sketches anyways. His condescension made me cancel everything with him. The second contractors was nice, but had a high estimate, then suggested we purchase low end materials to save on the cost. He gave us the estimate right away, then pressured us to accept it right then. He offered a $1K discount if we agreed before he left, but what's $1K on a $32K price tag,so we told him we had 1 more contractor to meet with. And then there was Mr. Luis. He came in with a smile, removed his shoes and actually listened to all my concerns about my current bathroom and my dreams about my future one. He took his measurements and then repeated back the things I said I really wanted. There was no pressure and he said he would contact me in a few days with an estimate. It took him about 4 days to get back to me. Not only was his estimate significantly less,but it also came with a computer generated rendition of my bathroom space from multiple angles. I had sent him some tile patterns I liked, and he had them in the image, so I could really visualize my new bathroom. He did the rendition 2 more times with different tile patterns I sent him to help me choose the one I really liked. I also want to note that he could've easily charged more because I told him I thought it was going to cost $40K when he came to do the estimate,but he still gave me his honest price. We set a date for work to start after I paid a 33% deposit. His team, led by Mr. Wilson, were punctual and really respected my home. They draped wherever they needed to walk and they walled off my bedroom with plastic so dust and debris wouldn't get all over my living space. Mr. Wilson answered all my questions and kept me updated on everything being done each day. He assisted me in buying some of my products. His team kept everything very tidy when they left each day. He was a dream from start to finish. The 2nd deposit was due when the tile install began. Mr. Carlos did all of the tiling himself. He gave his professional opinion about the tile I chose for the shower floor, which led me to use the same tile as the shower walls and honestly, I like it better. The bathroom was completed in 2 weeks. The last deposit is due upon completion. When all the work was done, they polished and cleaned the entire bathroom AND several surfaces in my bedroom. They wiped down and dusted the TV stand and fireplace (both in the sitting area outside of the bathroom). They had only gotten a small amount of dust on them from the construction, so I just planned to dust when they were finished,but they did it for me without me asking. They also wiped down the bannister as they exited. As a mom of 3 kids under 5, I appreciated that more than they know. I've had people work in my house before who were neat, but I have never had a team clean up after themselves as thoroughly as this one. I'd also like to mention his office manager, Ms. Gigi, handled the administrative side seamlessly. She also answered all of my emails promptly. I absolutely LOVE my new bathroom and I will definitely use them for projects in the future. Anyone looking for honest and skillful contractors should use this company.

I talked to Eric and he was fantastic! He was able to get his team in quickly, the work was performed far beyond anything I'd expected, and both he and his on-site foreman were very responsive. We had two challenges, both of which Eric and his team overcame with speed, quality delivery, and excellent customer service. We were working on a tight timetable, so I was receiving store fixtures while construction was ongoing. Eric and his team were able to work around this without any problems. Second, my initial flooring choice became unavailable between the time I selected it and ordering. When this happened, Eric and I went down to Home Depot together and found another option that looked better, was higher quality, and cost less. I cannot recommend Eric and A&E construction enough! 100% would use again. In fact, I have some upcoming work that I need to do on my home. I bid this job to five other companies, but I'll just be reaching out to Eric directly on that one.

We moved walls, changed flooring, the entire kitchen, stairs and rail system, new ceilings, paint, trim, and so much more. On top of the great work, he provides a warranty on all his work.
