I don't normally write too many reviews on Yelp, but the service I received from Julian and his…read morecompany compelled me to do so. From the beginning of our interaction through messages on Yelp, Julian was professional and down to earth. His gave me a free quote via Facetime. We discussed putting up a Ring Floodlight in my driveway. His prices are more than fair. Other companies were charging some outrageous prices for the same amount of work. When he arrived he got straight to work, and you could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. I couldn't be happier with how everything came out. I even asked him to fix a outlet in my home for me on short notice and he was able to do it. He even put up with my crazy family watching him do his work and my kids running around the house. If you need an electrician, you really don't need to look anywhere else. I'll definitely be hiring him for any of my electrical needs in the future. I spoke with him after the work was completed to find out he owned the business and that it was just him and two other electricians. It makes me feel good to know I'm supporting a small local business. Bonus points: We share the same name!

Julian absolutely crushed it and more than exceeded my expectations! His work was flawless. Just as important, he was so personable, polite, and very responsive. Honestly, my 3 year old son even called him dad. Welcome to the family Julian! I would use this company and Julian over and over again. Shane E.

Roberto's team of Ever and Lisbon have a great work ethic. Roberto clearly explained how the system works. He also offers winterization and spring startup of the system. I hired DMV Worx (Roberto) to do this task. I told Roberto to move it to the spot away from the roof but Robert suggested wireless sensor and he could install it at the other spot. He didn't listen to me. I thought wireless sensor was a good idea because you could move it anywhere, but it was pretty expensive at $375. I told him to go ahead and install it. Two months later, we have had rains and the sprinklers are still running on wet days, and the new sensor is still not working. I contacted Roberto and when he asked me how he could help me and I told him about the problem with the rain sensor that he installed two months ago, and it is still running sprinklers on wet days. He has ignored me and would not reply. Don't hire this company. Be forewarned, this company is not in Better Business Bureau. They're under "DUFIEF consulting", not DMV Worx.

I liked the idea in the future of doing a complete diagnoses of this 1976 house electrical system! I contacted Chesapeake Electric after the outlets and switches on one circuit in my home stopped…read moreworking. The technicians arrived as scheduled, acted professionally, and explained that the outlets on the circuit had not been pigtailed when the home was originally wired. They identified separated wiring and signs of overheating in some locations, including burned drywall behind certain outlet covers. I initially paid an $85 service fee and then more than $500 for a more extensive assessment. After that assessment, I was given an estimate exceeding $2,500 to address approximately 10 outlets and switches on the circuit. I was told that the entire circuit needed to be corrected and that they could not determine which individual outlets were causing the problem. When I asked whether only the damaged locations could be repaired, I was told that was not an option. After I paid a deposit toward the proposed work, the technicians disconnected and capped three affected outlets and restored power to the remainder of the circuit. This raised questions for me about why the entire circuit had initially been presented as needing immediate repair. When I asked about repairing only those three locations, I was quoted more than $500 per location. Whole-home premium surge protection and service-plan memberships were also recommended. By coincidence, another electrician was working at a neighboring home that day. He identified himself as a master electrician, inspected the issue, and gave me a different professional opinion. He told me that the entire circuit did not need to be replaced. In his assessment, the three affected locations needed repair and the remaining outlets on the circuit could be pigtailed. He estimated approximately $700 for the work. I then contacted Chesapeake Electric's office and asked to cancel the deposit. The manager listened to my concerns, spoke with the technicians, and called me back. He explained the company's reasoning and said the broader electrical work could be beneficial if the home were inspected in the future. However, that explanation did not resolve my concerns about the difference in the proposed scope and pricing. I also received appointment and follow-up text messages from someone identifying himself as "Mike." Based on the wording and interaction, the messages appeared to be generated through an automated or artificial-intelligence service. However, the messages did not disclose that I might be communicating with AI rather than a real employee. I found that confusing and uncomfortable. In my opinion, customers should be clearly informed when appointment scheduling or follow-up communications are being handled by an automated AI system. Although the technicians were courteous and professional while at my home, I was not comfortable proceeding after receiving such a substantially different assessment and estimate from another electrician. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend obtaining at least one independent second opinion before approving costly electrical work, memberships, or additional services.

We went into the showroom looking for exterior lights for our home…read more They had several options on display, but hundreds more in catalogs. Where we live we have a huge wasp population (I think I have seen every species possible flying around) so we wanted to avoid open bottom lights as we had issues with wasps building nests in them. Also my husband made it even harder as he didn't want, plain black with clear plain glass, which of course is most the current style. Both Lori and Tracey helped us out. We sat looking at lots of catalogs, checking online. We spent a long time in the store and they were very patient with us. We even found some that we liked, but they were super expensive (of course the catalogs don't have prices, they have to sit with a computer to assist) as we needed 7 lights even they knew that would not be a good pick and we continued searching. We eventually were successful, they ordered our lights and within a week they were ready for pick up. They recommended 2 electricians for us, one they felt especially suited our needs after talking with us. We got quotes from a few local electricians as we live further out, but we also got one from the guy they recommended: Mark from Monocacy Electrical & Lighting Services LLC. He was the most friendly and knowledgeable guy and fairly priced, we used him and were quite happy! Our lights look fantastic, we were very happy with the whole experience. Except the Ouch to the bank account, s there lighting is much more expensive than shopping at Home Depot, but there lighting is unique and fantastic. You get what you pay for as they say.
