We started working with Evergreen Contracting Services after the Snowmaggeden of 2010. Like many thousands of Northern Virginians, we had sever ice-damning and extensive water damage throughout our house. Not only was Evergreen Contracting extremely responsive, and helpful, but they came out in a blizzard and climbed three stories to fix our roof before we suffered more damage. Over the last three months they have not only gone above and beyond repairing our house, but they have been extremely creative in solutions that saved us thousands of dollars. Not a good experience today with Evergreen Contractors. I have been collecting quotes (I need 3 of them) for my condo. My neighbor put in hardwood floors and they ruined the ceiling of my condo. I was supposed to meet David at 11 am and I accidentally gave him my home address instead of the condo. However, I caught this and notified him of it before 11 AM. It's only about 15 minutes away and he said it was not an issue and would be there at about 11:15. No problem I said and I apologized and waited for him. Fast forward to around Noon, I spoke to David and he was having trouble finding my condo, I said no problem and that we could meet at a nearby business establishment and I would lead him to the condo (since he was having trouble finding it). He declined, so I stood on the main street and waved my arms for him. Another 10-15 minutes go by and I speak with David again and he is still having issues finding the condo. I told David again I could meet him and that I needed to do this sometime soon because I had a business meeting at 1:30. David started to get defensive and aggressive with me on the phone. This is a job that will cost several thousands of dollars and I felt I was giving him one hell of an opportunity to gain my business. At this point, I can honestly say Evergreen Contracting Services ruined my afternoon and wasted my time. I'm glad I didn't get the estimate because if this is the way they do business with potential clients I can just imagine what their quality of work is. Do your best to avoid this place! read more

Dave and team did a great job at our newly purchased home. We initially hired another contracting company to do the job before we moved in, but they were not reliable and the main person doing the job ended up getting fired (which we found out much much later). We had to move in and do the work at the same time, which is horrible especially with two small babies, but Dave and team did the best they could possibly do to accommodate our situation. What we appreciated the most is his honesty and close communications. He was always prompt and always showed up whenever we had questions or issues. We purchased our materials (tiles, glasses, lights, etc) ourselves so we knew exactly what we were paying to Dave. I actually had the complete opposite experience as the other reviewers. I called Dave on Saturday for an estimate he came the next day (on Sunday). I had bought some bamboo flooring from lumber liquidators I needed installed. He gave me an estimate which I compared against others including Home Depot and it was extremely competitive and fair. I requested they install on a weekend. His team showed up the next Saturday early in the morning, moved the furniture and installed the flooring. It looks fantastic and there were no hidden fees or extra charges, the estimate was for all work involved in completing the install. He also let me pay by credit card which was great. read more

He reconfigured the entry doors to swing outside the bath and expanded the builder grade shower size. He also fixed a few small things around the house and didn't charge a fee. His employees were very courteous and also showed up on time. The quality of the work was excellent and his pricing was very fair when compared to other contractors that I interviewed. I currently own a condo in Falls Church, VA, but live in another state. While visiting my family over Memorial Weekend, my husband and I paid a visit to our renter who was moving out of the unit. We looked around and noticed that the place needed a new paint job as well as new carpeting in the bedroom and hallway. Challenge was my renter was moving out on Tuesday and my new renter was moving in 3 days later. It was Saturday evening and I knew it was going to be hard to find someone to reach over the holiday weekend. I received a few referrals and started to call around...voicemail after voicemail, I was getting discouraged knowing time was running out quickly. I went onto Craigslist and ran into the posting for Evergreen Contracting Services and decided to call. Dave answered the phone right away. I let him know the predicament I was in and he told me he can go to the condo on Memorial Day to provide me an estimate. On that Monday, we were driving back home and as promised Dave went by the condo and not only provided me with an estimate, but also took pictures of other items that needed some attention. Dave sent me a proposal and we thought the prices seemed very fair especially knowing he and his team had a lot of work to do in little time.
