When Jose came out to look at the problem, he identified that it was where the new roof meets the old one.

Besides, its a new home right? Why would you need to inspect something that is new? While that may be true, I found the inspections provided by Mitchell pay for themselves by identifying issues and artifacts that I would have otherwise not identified. In addition, the inspection report is thorough and provides photos of the nameplates of all your appliances so that you can easily reference them when they need to be serviced. They also include tips specific to the upkeep of your home that many new home owners may not know. Its true that if you shop around you can find people that will do this type of thing on the cheap... but you will get what you pay for (I have seen this first hand). And when making such a huge investment into a new home, you do not want to take shortcuts. I put my trust in Mitchell and it has paid off.

Being new to the area, I didn't have any contacts for contractors, plumbers, etc that could tackle the rest of the recommendations. Mitch graciously provided me a complete list of vendors and explained to me the details of each recommendation. It's been 3 years, and Ive been tackling projects on the list. In fact, I still refer to and use his list of recommended vendors all the time! Mitch went above and beyond and I'm grateful for his patience and support during the transition. Highly recommend!

Now I am…read morenot a buyer or property owner in any capacity,so I will not be speaking on his capabilities as a home inspector (Other reviews do that, and you can take a look at them for more info on that.) What I will be speaking on is Ed's lack of safety precautions while investigating a property during a global pandemic, with, may I remind you, several thousand active cases in the state of New Jersey alone. Ed was prompt and on time and pleasant enough. We were informed by the property owners that the individual doing the inspection would, in fact, be wearing gloves and a mask, but Ed neglected to wear either a mask or gloves while performing his inspection. When provided a new mask by one of the current tenants of the property, he wasted little time in expressing his distaste for the masks, and was very vocal about the facts that he did not wear a mask on a day-to-day basis, and when he inspected the property of an older couple (in their late 80s) and he was asked to wear a mask, he did, but only after expressing his discontent with wearing one. After being provided with a new mask, he put in on briefly, and removed it only a few minutes later. He continued to inspect the property without any PPE, and without stopping to sanitize or otherwise clean his hands and arms at any point during the inspection. Of the 9 individuals staying on this property, nearly half are either immuno-copromised, or have a pre-existing respiratory issue, if not both. While Ed spouted off about his beliefs regarding COVID, 3 of our tenants were left to shut themselves in one of the bedrooms in order to avoid possible exposure through him. After he left the main space, we were left to disinfect every surface in the rental. As a side note, Ed also stopped the washing machine mid-cycle, and didn't say anything about it, luckily one of us noticed it fairly quickly, but we were left to fully restart the cycle, causing us to have to abandon a portion of our afternoon plans as the restart set us back almost a full hour. Each of the tenants who was present was, in fact, wearing a mask, out of courtesy to the individual who had to enter a space filled with other people. In short order, Ed's lack of professionalism in regards to ignoring federal, state, and local recommendations in order to guard against COVID, is horribly apparent, and honestly baffling. As an individual, whose career relies on entering the living spaces of others, temporary or otherwise, one might think that Ed would have the basic sense, if not simple courtesy, to follow a simple, and unobtrusive set of protocols in order to ensure both his own safety, as well as the safety of the individuals living in the spaces he is inspecting. We will be contacting our rental company to inform them of Ed's possible breach of agreement.
